Chapter 4

It a beginning of another working week, John was very happy, he woke up very early and dressed up to meet Mr Anthony as he had instructed him, he stood at the front of the mirror and look at himself saying

" John we are about to be great in life let try our best let work hand in hand and let create a good history and parth for the upcoming" he smiled and

left the house.

John was at the company's gate early, he rang the doorbell, the security man opened up and they both greeted themselves.

What can I do for you? " said the security man, John replied " I'm here to meet Mr Anthony James" .

The security man allowed him in and directed him to the way in, John went in and greeted the staff he came across, he asked one of the staff where the secretary office is he was directed to the secretary.

John knocked, the secretary asked him to come in the secretary asked him " What can do for you sir"

John replied "I am here to see Mr Anthony James the CEO of this company" .

The secretary replied "He is yet to come, the CEO will be here today only for a board meeting if what you need to see him for is urgent you can drop a note or wait for him".

"Thank you very much I will choose to wait for him" John replied.

John sat down after a few minutes. Mr Anthony on his wheelchair came in with a smile on his face.

"Am sorry I am a little bit late, sorry for coming late, Good morning Mr John '' said Mr Anthony

"Morning sir, I understand you sir" John replied.

Mr Anthony said facing the secretary "Get ready for today's board meeting, Mr John follow me to my office".

After getting into the office Mr Anthony said to John "Sorry for coming late so don't forget our agreement".

John replied"Thank you sir I won't disappoint you and I am very happy for this great opportunity you gave me to work in your companyf".

They both went to the board meeting, during the board meeting Mr Anthony announced John as the new CEO of the company they all give him a round of applause.

John was shocked everything was that is happening seems to be like a dream to him but it was not a dream.

After the meeting John followed Anthony to his office, "John, I will be traveling abroad for some few years and I will like you to take over everything I have here for me while I am away"

John was surprised, "wait wait, you want me to be in charge of everything you have here?".

"Yeah, I know that you are very capable that is why am leaving everything in your care" Anthony replied, "Also, have this" Anthony added.

It was a dimond platinum card, John had never seen anything like it before.

"That card contains a sum of fifty million dollars and it can also serve as an indentity card wherever you go, trust me" Anthony said

John was speechless, he hadn't even spend any out of the money that Anthony first sent to him, now he had given another one.

"Thank you very much, but I don't really know much about handling a huge company like this" John said

"Don't worry, you will get use to it overtime and I have someone that will assist you"

"Cynthia, please come in," Anthony said.

A beautiful stunning woman with glasses walked in, 'Wow she's beautiful' that was John first thought.

"She was my late wife personal assistant", Anthony said.

"She will be the one to assist you while I am away" Anthony spoke with a smile on his face.

"Good day Mr John" Cynthia greeted John with a Charming smile on her face.

"Looks like I will be late for my flight, I leave everything to your hand John '' Anthony stood up in a hurry and left the office.

John was still stunned on what was happening, when he regained himself, he found out that Anthony had already left.

"What should I do now?" John was confused

Cynthia who was still standing next to John spoke with her elegant voice, "Let's us start by telling you about this company"

"Alright, please go on" John said

"We deal in the production of perfumes, jewelries and clothings" Cynthia answered

"So basically, this company deals in fashions" John was quick to catch on

"Yeah, you can say that," Cynthia replied. "Fashion, luxury, and lifestyle products. We have a strong global presence and a reputation for quality and innovation."

John nodded, taking in the information. "I've heard about the company's success, but stepping into such a big role suddenly... it's a lot to take in."

Cynthia smiled reassuringly. "I understand your concerns, Mr John. But remember, you're not alone in this. I'll be here to support you every step of the way. We have a dedicated team of experienced professionals who are eager to work with you."

John sighed with relief. "That's comforting to hear. I really appreciate your help, Cynthia."

"Of course, Sir. We're a team, and together we'll keep the company running smoothly in Mr. Anthony's absence," Cynthia said with determination.

"Ok, well show me around the company" John Said

"Alright sir" Cynthia replied

Immediately, both of them left the office, all the workers all stopped what they were doing and all bowed and greeted John.

"Good afternoon sir!"

"What's going on?" John asked Cynthia

"Your picture has been sent throughout the whole company, industries and branches that you are our new CEO of Biz corp.

John was surprised because that was fast, but he could still hear some murmurs from the workers.

"Is that the new CEO, Mr Anthony, left in charge?"

"He doesn't look any special"

"Why is he dressed like that, those clothes looks old"

"Shh, he could hear you, if he does you are fired"

John could only smile nervously, he looked at the suit he wore and people could tell that it was obviously old due to it being wrinkled and some part parched.

"Cynthia, do you know where I can get some clothes to buy?"

"Yes, sir, but you don't need to mind the gossips of the workers, you can fire them if needed"

"Well, as the new CEO, I need to act as one, so my appearance should matter right?"

Cynthia was happy with the mindset of this new CEO, 'I guess Mr Anthony was right'

Both John and Cynthia left the company, took one of the company car and drove off
