"After killing just two monsters?" Teagan shouted in disbelief.

"Keep your voice down, you're going to deafen me!" Ryan snapped, picking up the copper coins and helmet, and hurriedly checking the helmet's attributes.

Steel Helmet [Green Quality]

Level: 10

Defense: 5-10

Strength +2

Agility +2

"Haha..." Ryan couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" Teagan asked.

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. So take a look for yourself." Ryan sent Teagan a screenshot of the Steel Helmet's attributes.

"Damn, a dual-attribute equipment!" Teagan was also surprised, and then asked, "Did it drop inside the Dark Cave?"

Ryan removed the trash helmet from his head and equipped the Steel Helmet, which further enhanced his defense.

"Wait for me there, I'm coming right now." Teagan also wanted to get some equipment, so he hurriedly ran towards the dark cave.

"Hurry up, I'll keep refreshing till you get here. I'm hanging up now." With that, Ryan ended the voice call.

With his defense boosted, Ryan could fight monsters more freely, at least without having to constantly consume health potions.

As each skeleton spearman turned into experience, Ryan's inventory was filling up with copper coins, and he also acquired quite a few pieces of equipment, such as the Swift Boots, which increased defense by 8 points, and the Sinful Bracelet, which increased defense and attack by 5 points.

Half an hour later, Ryan reached level 12 and finally replaced his old, useless white equipment. His defense increased to 45 points and his attack increased to 70 points.

Although green gear was slightly better than white gear, they all came with some attributes. Although, compared to the top players, green gear was nothing, it was still very valuable to Ryan.

If Ryan had chosen to be a professional gamer from the beginning, dedicating most of his time to the game like his friend, he would surely have switched professions long ago. Unfortunately, he had too little time; he had to work during the day, and the few hours he could play at night were simply insignificant.

"Damn, level 12 already?!" Teagan exclaimed as soon as he arrived. He was currently wearing a mix of miscellaneous gear, some green and some white. However, the warlock class didn't have high requirements for equipment, especially the summoner warlock, who relied entirely on summoned beasts for attacks, so having equipment was not important.

"Now isn't the time to chat. Have you forgotten where we are?" Ryan said smugly, as he took out several pieces of cloth armor and handed them to Teagan. "Take these. Put on the ones you can use, and sell the ones you don't need later."

These cloth armor pieces were all obtained by Ryan; they include a top, bottom, boots, and so on.

"Cheers!" Teagan beamed as he made the deal, replacing all the trash cans.

"What kind of warlock did you switch to?" Ryan asked.

"Destruction Warlock, a class that specializes in fighting bosses, gets incredibly overpowered later in the game." Teagan didn't switch to the Summoner class. He initially wanted to switch to the Summoner Warlock, but then he thought that controlling a bunch of summoned beasts in battle would be too boring for him, and he wouldn't be able to find a team to level up, so he decided to switch to the Destruction Warlock instead which was really difficult to play.

"That's why it's good to be a game freak sometimes."

"I'll take that as a compliment. Now, let's fight some monsters, I need to level up quickly too."

"Okay, you lead the fray, I'll draw the aggro."

"Look at you. You're really having a feel of game now."

"Can we go now?"

"Yes, let's go." With that, Teagan waved his scepter and cast a poison spell. With a bang, it hit a skeleton spearman not far away. Instantly, the skeleton spearman turned green, poisoned, and its defense decreased by 5%.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ryan launched another wild roar, stunning the skeleton spearmen, and then unleashed a flurry of attacks with his Heroic Blade. The Poison spell was incredibly powerful, allowing Ryan to quickly down the skeleton spearmen, with almost every strike dealing nearly a hundred damage.

"Haha... It's so great to have good equipment. I've gained a lot of experience just now, over 3000!" Teagan laughed.

"I got more than 5,000 when I first arrived."

"That was exhilarating, let's do it again." Teagan cast another poison spell, attracting a skeleton spearman.

Ryan rushed forward and slashed, quickly taking him down. Their teamwork was extremely seamless. Although their experience wasn't increasing as fast as before, it was visibly rising little by little.

Ryan was responsible for killing monsters, collecting money and equipment, equipping usable gear, and throwing the rest into his inventory. Teagan was responsible for luring the monsters. He currently only had three skills: a poison spell, a summon wolf, and a blinding spell that would temporarily blind the target, causing them to run around aimlessly.

But he didn't dare use it carelessly, as there were many monsters nearby, and if he attracted a bunch of them to surround Ryan, it would be dangerous. It was safer to fight them one by one.

"Ryan, there aren't many people on the first floor." Teagan glanced around and found that there weren't many people around.

“They’re all on the second and third floors,” Ryan replied.

"Let's go too. Doesn't killing monsters above our level give more experience?"

"Let's wait a bit longer. There are more people and fiercer monsters on the second floor. If we go in, we will certainly die and come back miserable."

"Okay then, let's wait a little longer."

"The boss is here!" Just then, someone shouted from the entrance on the second floor: "All of you come! Let's fight the boss together!"

Ryan and Teagan were startled and turned their gazes toward the entrance to the second floor in the distance.

They saw a colossal figure appear at the entrance to the second floor, wielding a large sword and covered in rusty armor. Its imposing presence was terrifying; it was indeed a skeleton general.

“Well, let’s go take a look,” Ryan said excitedly.

"Wait a minute. When we get there, we do nothing. We'll just watch from the sidelines. Okay?" Teagan was the most experienced. He believed that if they rushed over and joined those players in fighting the boss, they might get killed before the boss even died. So they had to assess the situation carefully before making a decision. Of course, they had to fight the boss; it would be a sin not to fight it. The question was, how? How could they both survive until the boss was dead?

"Got it." With that, Ryan rushed towards the entrance to the second floor, Teagan following closely behind.

They were driven to madness. These players were members of the Holy Gods' Clan. They had been leveling up on the third floor of the Dark Palace when they heard that a boss was spawning on the second floor, so they all left the third floor to fight the boss. Meanwhile, another team was leveling up on the second floor—the later-stage elite guild, War God Alliance. The War God Alliance is still in its infancy, and the guild has not yet been established. However, it already had quite a few members, all of whom were around level 17. Their equipment was also just average, since it was the early stage of the game and few people have top-notch equipment.A level 20 blue-named boss spawned on the second floor, which thrilled the players of the War God Alliance, who all s

The Warlock's health was slightly higher than the Mage's, but definitely not as high as the Warrior's. Teagan was lucky not to be instantly killed. However, it terrified him, and he quickly swallowed several health potions and ran away as fast as he could. He also switched the white giant wolf to attack mode. The giant wolf immediately attacked the boss with bared fangs and claws. How could the boss be intimidated by a mere summoned beast? He unleashed a burst of fire, instantly turning the giant wolf into a roasted wolf. However, more and more ghostly or demonic things gathered on the boss, causing it to lose 15 health points per second, greatly slowing its movement speed. It also seemed to have lost its target, blindly running around in the poison array, unable to distinguish east from west.Ryan was secretly full of admiration upon seeing it; the poison array of the Destruction Warlock was truly powerful. Before long, the boss was afflicted with various abnormal statuses."Go, Rya

The second floor was also empty; it's unclear when, but the monsters here have all been cleared out."Damn it, what happened here?" Teagan muttered, glancing around at his surroundings."Where else could they have gone? It must have been cleaned up." Ryan was deflated, feeling quite regretful."Damn it, let's keep on looking." Teagan was unwilling to give up and stepped into the depths."Nothing here, let's go to the third floor instead." Ryan followed behind. As they were walking, suddenly Teagan shouted. "Boss!"Ryan was startled and quickly asked, "Where?""There!" Teagan pointed to the entrance on the third floor directly ahead.Ryan looked in the direction Teagan was pointing and indeed saw the shadow of a monster. From a distance, the monster was hunched over, wrapped in a gray robe, and leaning on a wooden staff. It was slowly wandering around the entrance to the third floor."Be careful, don't get too close." Teagan became more vigilant and walked forward cautiously."Is it a

Back in Eric Town, Ryan and Teagan went to learn skills. At level 15, one could only learn one skill.Ryan learned the Deadly Sword Energy, while Teagan learned the Plague Poison Array. "Ryan, how are your skills? Are they impressive?" Teagan asked Ryan. "I don't know." Ryan shook his head, then glanced at the new skill "Decisive Sword Energy" in his skill bar.Deadly Sword Energy [Beginner, Proficiency 0000/0000] Skill Description: Concentrates all personal power to deal fatal penetrating damage to the target, with a 50% chance to ignore the target's defense. Skill attack power depends on skill level. Cooldown: 45 seconds. MP cost: 120. Ryan said, "The skill description looks pretty impressive." "That's good. Let's go find a place to level up some more." Teagan laughed and said. He wasn't sleepy at all. He was a free man. His parents had good jobs and his family had some money. He spent all his time playing games at home. Of course, he had more time than Ryan. He often stayed u

Several flashes of white light appeared, and Ryan and his companions appeared in the town square. The Ember Dragon and his group went to learn skills and buy potions. Ryan and Teagan disposed of all their useless green equipment, exchanging it for dozens of silver coins. Teagan then bought some mana potions and talismans. Soon after, the Ember Dragon and his group returned. The Ember Dragon and Ember Fox had both learned the level 15 skill, Magic Shield, which reduces physical damage by 5%, an essential survival skill for mages, becoming increasingly powerful in the later stages of the game."Where are we going to farm goblins?" Teagan asked Ember Dragon."Come with us, we'll be there soon. That place is better than the Dark Cave. There are some players leveling up there right now, but we'll be fine if we stay far away from them." Clearly, the Ember Dragon had been to the Great Goblin Plains once."Some people are leveling up there, won't they clear the area out?" Teagan was quite ne

"Ryan saw that Ember Fox had picked up all the gold coins, but he didn't say anything. Rather, he nodded to Ember Dragon and and shared the attributes of the two pieces of equipment with them.Ember Dragon and his companions were greatly disappointed upon seeing the loot; they had only gotten two pieces of equipment they couldn't use, making their efforts all for nothing. However, at least they had some gold coins, enough to cover their potion costs. Ember Dragon smiled calmly and said, "Friend, since you're the one using the equipment, there's no reason for arguments. But the gold coins are ours; after all, you didn't kill the boss alone.""Alright, you can keep the gold coins." Ryan hadn't wanted the gold coins anyway. If he could get two good pieces of equipment, he wouldn't have to worry about not getting more gold coins in the future."Damn not. What about me?" Teagan refused to compromise. He hadn't gotten anything, so how could he just stand by and watch the gold coins go to
