3. The Dark Palace [II]

When they arrived nearby, the two were dumbfounded when they saw the boss's attributes.

Skeleton General (Blue Boss)

Defense: 180

Ryan and Teagan were both surprised that the boss was a blue-named monster, which meant it was guaranteed to drop blue-quality gear. However, this boss might not be spawning for the first time, so the drop rate would definitely be much lower. Even so, they had to fight it; even a few gold coins would be a fortune.

At this moment, nearby players swarmed in. Mages and archers provided reinforcements, raining down fireballs, lightning bolts, and ice arrows upon the boss in a barrage of attacks. Warriors and assassins engaged in melee combat, unleashing a barrage of skills upon the boss.

Unfortunately, the boss's defense was too high, its health was too high, and its attacks were terrifying. Killing these low-level players was too easy for it.

Imagine if these players leveling up on the first floor had good gear, they would have already gone to the second floor. These players, with their poor gear and levels below 15, couldn't afford venturing into the second floor before now. As a result, they were instantly killed by the boss's greatsword, their blood splattering everywhere, and they were sent back to town, leaving corpses strewn across the battlefield.

However, the mage's attacks were very powerful, causing the boss's health to drop rapidly, losing more than 1,000 health points in just a few minutes.

At this point, almost all the melee players were dead.

There were only a few mages left nearby, unleashing their fury, and not even a priest. The boss seized the opportunity for revenge, charging forward and swinging his sword. With a casual swipe, two mages were killed instantly.

"Should we fight or not?" Teagan asked.

"We attack!" Ryan was both nervous and excited. It was his first time fighting a boss, and he was really looking forward to the equipment that the boss would drop.

"Alright, watch this." Teagan waved his scepter and summoned a giant white wolf, baring its teeth and claws, its mouth full of sharp fangs.

Then he threw a poison spell, which hit the boss on the head, turning the boss's entire body green. The giant wolf, upon receiving the order, pounced. This was a level 10 summoned beast with limited attack power and average defense. Before it could even attack, the boss slashed away at most of its health.

"Damn it." Ryan bemoaned. He immediately rushed up to attack the boss, unleashing a wild roar first.

But then a message appeared above the boss's head, indicating that it had been immune to the attack.

Shocked, Ryan cursed inwardly. "Damn you, bloody skeleton!"

At this moment, the boss spotted Ryan and dealt over 400 damage to him with a single strike. Startled, Ryan frantically consumed a red potion, unleashed another berserk attack, and then swung his sword again. His current attack power was quite decent; dealing over 100 damage to the boss with a single strike was already quite good.

Moreover, his attack frequency was extremely fast, allowing him to withstand the boss's attacks head-on.

Just as the boss's aggro shifted to Ryan, the remaining mages unleashed their lightning strikes, causing the boss to sway from side to side and immediately shift its target.

The remaining mages seemed to be from the same small clan which carried more weight than guilds. They must have known one another before joining the game. Above their game names was the title "Ember Clan."

Their leader was called Ember Dragon, a male mage at level 13, also dressed in low-quality green gear. Next was a burly-looking male mage named Ember Tiger, level 12, with similar equipment to Ember Dragon. The last one was Ember Fox, level 13, wielding a blue magic wand; the rest were all green gear. Clearly, she had the highest attack power among the three, but her gameplay was clumsy, indicating she was a newbie.

Ryan didn't know them, but they coordinated very well, methodically dealing damage and drawing aggro. Teagan's poison spell also reduced the boss's defense by 5%. So, it didn't take long for the boss to collapse with a roar, dropping a small pile of glittering gold coins and two pieces of equipment.

Nobody knew who killed the boss, however, Ryan picked up the loot that dropped. Since he was closest to the loot. It turned out to be a gleaming broadsword and a black cloak.

"What is it?" Teagan ran over and asked excitedly. He was happy to see Ryan grab the equipment first, regardless of whether it was suitable for him or not, at least their efforts weren't in vain.

"See for yourself." Ryan was also extremely excited. Both sword and equipment were usable by warriors, and now that such a good weapon had dropped, how could he not be excited? As he spoke, he sent a screenshot of the equipment to Teagan, who was also quite surprised.
