Heading To Heliopolis

After the incident at the dining room, a lot of doctors came to attend to me. They all came up to the same conclusion that my throat was just sore and I needed to take it easy.

After that I took my bath with the maids at my beck and call. I was applying lotion to my skin when my door opened with Gem and the other memaids bringing in plates of food and fruits. They dropped the dishes on the table beside my bed. I looked over to see that they were mainly semi liquid, thank God at least it will make it easier for me to swallow.

"Lord Ra instructed us to bring these to your room. He said you should take it easy on your throat." Awwwnn, Ra was so considerate and sweet. 

"And Lady Menthu sends her regards." They bowed down as they turned to leave. Gem turned back and clicked her fingers.

"Before I forget, Lord Ra says you should be ready in an hour time." No, I take back my words, Ra is an asshole.

 Unknown Pov

I was sparing with one of my men when Anubis flashed in. I kicked down my opponent in the chest and he fell down with a grunt escaping his lips. I held out my to aid him in standing up.

"Cairo, go freshen up. Our section is finished." That was a polite way of telling Cairo to excuse us. Cairo bowed down

"Yes my Lord." I gestured faintly at him to leave.

 I turned to see Anubis smiling, that looked abnormal on him. Since he was the god of the Underworld, people usually got the idea that he was all gloom and death. But no, he was tall, almost as tall as me. His skin was olive coloured and he had dark soulless eyes which seems to harbor a lots of secrets in them. He had a huge sense of humor but that doesn't mean he wasn't dangerous.

"Gotten tired of being called my Lord?" he chuckled, that annoying chuckle. Yeah, the thing was tiring. Just imagine being called that for over six hundred years. I would have preferred of they call me by my name. At least I won't get tired of hearing my own name. We started strolling to my chambers.

"What are you doing here?" 

"Can't I come visit?" I looked at him with my side eye waiting for him to crack. Anubis doesn't just come "visit" without a valid reason. Emphasis on visit, I would have done the air quotes but it would have looked stupid on me. 

"Okay, okay. I heard something." He waved nonchalantly at me. 

"What did you hear now?" I stopped walking and looked at him. Anubis doesn't pay attention to irrelevant information. This must be big.

"Guess who's going to Heliopolis." Heliopolis? Wait what? Anubis and I were a member of The Ennead, along with seven other gods and goddesses. The last time I went to Heliopolis was over a century ago. That was one of the most difficult times of my life. 

"If we are going to Heliopolis that means ...." Anubis cut in 

"The Ennead is meeting and you are officially invited."

"Shit! Who summoned?" I put my hands on my waist. Everyone knew that Ra were best comrades, more like brothers. This would be very complicated because Ra was also a member of The Ennead. 

"You know the funniest thing?" I told you that Anubis always see the humor in everything.

"What?" I know it would be something stupid he was going to say. 

"The summoning is over a human." That was not stupid. I wasn't expecting anything like this.

"What the fuck happened?" We resumed walking.

"Don't have the full details, but that's what makes attending the summoning worth it. I bet this summoning is going be to interesting." He waggled his brows like an idiot. Anubis would kill for this kind of drama.

"I bet it will." Time to relive painful memories again. I laughed humorlessly. Anubis looked at me weirdly.

"Hope you are not going crazy on me?" I chuckled.Oh gods! Guess I am attending the summoning after all.
