The Ennead Of Heliopolis

After eating in my room. I wore a flowing gold dress with open toed sandals. Gem applied light make up to my face, according to her to enhance my natural beauty. Even I was appreciating myself in the mirror after she was done.

Ra was waiting for me in the his receptive chambers when I entered. He looked at me in awe, I could see the appreciation in his eyes.

"You look beautiful." I arched my brow.

"So I look ugly on a normal basis." I pulled my face into fake frown just pulling his legs. He fell for it.

"No, that's not what I'm saying. You always look breath-taking every time I see you." He looked into my eyes as he said that. We were both lost in the moment, he was looking at me like someone so special to him. Like he loved me? I creased my brows in thoughts. 

"Wipe that frown from your face, you look hideous right now." His expression was back to normal. I elbowed his hard stomach as I laughed softly, sore throat remember? 

"We both know that's a lie. You look uptight, Is it because of the The ... what did that asshole call it?" 

"I hope the asshole you are talking about is not Khonsu?" His face was expressionless but his eyes were bursting with amusement. I frowned my face at the mention of his name, massaging my throat with my hands. I could still feel the remnants of the icy hands. Ra sighed removing my hands from my throat.

"Khonsu is not a bad person, he's just not himself for now." 

"Even at that, that doesn't give the excuse to strangle me like a stray chicken." I huffed in annoyance. 

"I know. How would I say this without offending you?" He clicked his fingers like an idea just struck him.

"He dislikes humans, finds them untrustworthy." That's putting it mildly, more like he despises humans. 

"Why?" 

"That will be his story to tell." I snorted, that's if he will ever like me to tell me such a personal story.

"Nevermind, so about The .....?" 

"Right, The Ennead Of Heliopolis." Yep definitely that one, name sounds awkward but kinda familiar. Don't know when I've seen it or heard it. Hmmn strange.

"So why are you not dressed yet?" I asked Ra as I surveyed him from head to toe. He was wearing a fancy Egyptian golden jacket with no shirt inside leaving his chest naked. And a black tight fitted trouser on his bottom half highlighting his slim hips and long legs. 

"This is my outfit for the summoning. Do you have a problem with it?" He arched his brows. 

"Nope, just wondering. Doesn't this Ennead summoning thing sound official?" Ra burst into a full belly laugh. I smiled sheepishly. He really needed that because he was tensed up like a bomb about to explode.

"Yes, but I don't take it too seriously or literally. If you get what I mean?" I wasn't getting anything. Dude lost me on his last statement. 

"I see you don't get. Don't worry you will understand when we get to Heliopolis." Oh that reminds me.

"What does The Ennead of Heliopolis mean?" I asked genuinely curious. 

"Let's get going. I'll explain on the way." Ra turned as he stretched out his hand and a portal formed from empty air. 

"After you My Lady." He signalled for me to pass. Time to try out new things.

 Unknown POV

The Ennead of Heliopolis also known as the council of gods are a group of nine powerful gods who are revered for their wisdom, strength, integrity, knowledge, charisma, bravery, slyness and valor. They consisted of Amun The Creator god, Ra Sun god, Anubis god of the Underworld, Isis goddess of funerary rites, Osiris god of, Horus god of the sky, Anhur god of war and hunting, Mut the vulture goddess and Hathor the cow goddess

Each gods and goddesses mentioned represented each of the revered qualities. I sighed as I entered the council room, still same as always but a lot of changes that affect people's lives are carried out here. It looked like a ... what do humans call that shit again... Okay courtroom. The room was big, you know the way a courtroom is built, the place where the witness stands and everything. Except the only difference was the judge"s section instead of just one seat, there were nine tall seats meant for the nine gods and goddesses. Audiences weren't accommodated except if the occasion calls for one. The only people allowed to be in the council room were the gods and goddesses, accused, accuser and witnesses. 

All the gods and goddesses were already present in the council room except for Amun. The leader of The Ennead, he was mostly absent nowadays, but since he was the leader he could get away with it. From their dramatic dressing, I was trying my best to hold in my laugh. I liked my dressing simple dressed in sky blue regalia but others like their dramatic. Anubis was dressed in all black trying to maintain his solemn reputation as the Underworld god. Anhur was dressed in a wild fashion totally shirtless with I can imagine is a real tiger skin scarf wrapped round his neck paired with a black tight pants making him look fierce. While the others looked sleek, cool and beautiful especially the only three goddesses in The Ennead, Isis, Mut and Hathor.

I walked over to where they were all associating with each other since the summoning had not yet started. I nodded at Anhur who was talking with Osiris. They both nodded at me, I navigated towards Anubis who was tensed like a string strung tight. Mut was having conversation with him, but from my point of my view it was one-sided. When Anubis saw me, his face was expressionless but his eyes were filled with relief. I understood his reaction, cause nobody was actually comfortable in Mut's company. You had to be careful not to say the wrong thing and she had this eerie aura thing going on. Mut wore a smile on her face when I reached them.

"Anubis," I nodded "Mut you look more astounding and refreshed each time I see you." I complimented her to draw her attention from Anubis. Mut smiled clearly flattered, thankfully she didn't offer me her hand to kiss as else I would've have puked. 

"I can say the same for you too Horus." She looked at me with appreciation on her eyes. Yep, I know that I was good-looking, 6'5 height and with an almost perfect body structure to go. My eyes were sky-blue and I had straight raven black shoulder length hair. 

"Anubis I've something urgent to speak to you about." There was nothing actually, just a way to politely send Mut away. Mut narrowed her eyes in suspicion.

"Can't it wait? I was having a conversation with Anubis before you came." She drew her lips in a pout. I was treading on a thin rope right now she was setting a trap but I was smarter.

"I mean no disrespect Mut but this can't wait." I responded.

"All right, if it's that important I'll be on my way. But Anubis my offer still stands." She caressed Anubis as she moved on to meet the two other goddesses engaged in a conversation.

"Geez, thanks man." Anubis dropped his shoulders in relaxation. I chuckled.

"So she offered to be your fuck buddy?" Anubis shuddered in revulsion as I laughed softly. Mut looked over at us, I nodded at her. She turned back to her companions.

"Careful, Horus you don't want to make her interested in our conversation. But I'll rather kiss a snake than dip my dick in her." I chuckled, the feeling was mutual. The room quietened suddenly, I raised my head to see Ra flash in. Hmmn, he moved to the side to reveal the human that caused this impromptu summoning.
