Strong baby

"I should be hallucinating."

Otherwise, how could he accept that it was reality?

How could a tree that was supposed to take a few years to grow be grown in a span of a couple of hours?

"Or did I sleep for a few years?" He couldn't help but ask himself.

He looked around and after getting a few clues about everything, he came to the conclusion that a few years did not pass like he had thought. It was really just a couple of hours and nothing more that he took to finish his nap.

He then came back to his senses. He was not supposed to look at the plants and trees that grew in his backyard at this moment.

Everything should follow a certain list of priorities.

And now, his priority should be to look at Hearthe and check if she was alright or not.

Did she eat anything or not?

He couldn't help but worry when he thought of his cute and adorable baby.

He then walked into his newly made farm and searched for Hearthe all over the ground. Since there are many plants and trees, it became a real difficulty to search for Hearthe, who liked playing underground.

He called out for her, strongly hoping for an answer back, "Hearthe!!"

He did not hear a reply and started getting anxious at once.

He raised his voice higher and shouted with a clear hint of worry, "Hearthe!! Where are you? Can you hear me? Hearthe?"

As his words progressed further, the worry in his voice also increased.

He started sweating all over with no reply and before he could shout once more, he heard the sounds of shuffling around.

He turned his head at the source of sound to find a few bushes shuffling.

Caesar narrowed his eyes and took a step forward to look at who was behind the bushes and before he could take another step, he found a creature crawling at the speed of lightning and attacked his ankle.

The action of turning into his anklet made Caesar's tightened heart loosen up after a long time.

Caesar bent over and started caressing Hearthe's slimy body.

He did not know from where but he saw a drop of water fall on Hearthe's body. He blinked a couple of times to find another few drops falling on her body.

Only then did he realize that the water were actually his tears which fell as soon as he touched his baby's body.

After losing 'her', he did not dare to think about losing someone else again. Not his cute and adorable baby, all the more.

Once he lost her, he was scared to get close to anyone else. It was only today that he felt close to a 'beautiful' tree followed by the baby that the tree gave him with love.

If he were to lose either one of them, he would no longer remain sane like he was now. He would waste no time in destroying the entire world before he could take a calm breath.

Once he stabilized his emotions, Caesar looked at Hearthe again before softly asking, "Did you eat anything? Or do you want me to feed you something?"

Hearthe blinked her big, round, black eyes a couple of times before turning her head sideways.

Though Caesar did not understand the meaning behind her actions, he let her do whatever she wanted and calmly followed her.

Hearthe crawled a couple of feet before she drilled her head into the ground and took it back again.

Caesar saw that she now had a root of legumes in her mouth. Under his eyes, Hearthe started gnawing on the roots and that is when Caesar understood the meaning behind her actions.

She meant that she likes eating the roots of those legumes and she had already eaten them without waiting for him.

He finally heaved a sigh of relief when he understood that she did not starve herself to death because of his irresponsible behavior.

Feeling mentally exhausted, Caesar lowered his waist and half sat on the ground looking dejected.

"How could I be so selfish that I used you to grow plants but did not even care to feed you?" He felt emotional as he asked out loud.

Hearthe felt his Father's negative emotions and couldn't look on as he was blaming himself for her sake.

She spat the legume root out of her mouth before crawling to Caesar and narrowed her eyes, giving him the message, 'Don't worry Father. I can eat and take care of myself. You don't have to feel sorry for me. I will never worry you again, Father.'

Though there were no words spoken vocally out loud, Caesar had seen the determination in her eyes and was astonished.

He chuckled before patting her head while nodding, "Hmm, I have a strong baby."
