CHAPTER FOUR

Edwin and Max were still in the restaurant having themselves a good time when they are suddenly approached by two different muscular men.

They wore black tuxedo and a black glass that conceals their faces. “We have just been informed that the both of you walked into the restaurant without a card. Can we please see your card sir.” One of the men demanded.

Edwin chuckled for a moment wondering what they are even talking about. He had paid for everything and never did the waiter informed him about any card. “I think you got the wrong person.” Max replied to them.

“No sir. We just got told that the both of you have no card with you.” The guard replied and reached into his pocket and removed a black card.

“Clifford restaurant usually offer this to the customers when they arrive and I don’t think you have any one with you.” 

“Where can we get one of those?” Edwin asked with a raised eye brow.

“That means you both are thieves. Criminals who are after sabotaging the reputation of this eatry.” One of the guards attacked.

“Hold on a minute. Where is all these madness coming out from? You don’t have any right to call us thieves.” Edwin spoke.

“Maybe if the police come, you will explain your actions to them.” The second guard said, pulling out his phone and attempting to make a call.

Edwin moved his chair backwards and got up to his feet. He did not have the time for the embarrassment that they were trying to put him through.

He tried walking away but one of the guards grabbed his hand and pulled him backwards causing him to trip to the floor. “Hey!” Max yelled getting up to his feet and pushing the guard as well.

There is a  big commotion as Max throws out a punch on the guard. Edwin gets his phone, searching for his uncle’s number.

He was really pissed because of the embarrassment by the guards and was determined to make sure that they pay for it. “Edwin?” His uncle’s voice came through the phone.

“Sorry to bother you uncle but I think we have a serious situation in our hands. The guards at Clifford restaurants are harassing us”

He watched as Max beats up the guards while everyone watched. “Text me the address and I will do something immediately.” Isaac replied in anger and Edwin cut the phone.

He sent the address of the restaurant to his uncle and proceeds to help Max by pushing the guards away.

Other staff walked into the room to separate the both of them. “You have incompetent security people and I am going to make sure that they learn never to cross my path again.” Edwin yelled at the waiter who had approached him.

“We are really sorry sir please.” The waiter pleaded but Edwin was having none of it.

His phone suddenly beeps and he checks to see a message from his uncle. "I bought that restaurant. You can send of the people harassing the both of you away from there."

He proceeds to also send an invoice showing the payment and also the deeds to the restaurant.

A new wave of confidence filled Edwin and he walked over to Max who has been yelling and arguing at the top of his voice. “You will not believe what my uncle did.” Edwin said, showing the invoice and the deed of the restaurant to Max.

“He bought the property?” Max asked in shock.

“Yes.”

“So that means your family now owns this place?” He asked.

“Well that is what it means.” Edwin replied with a shrug off his shoulder.

“Where is your general manager?” Edwin asked as the guards walked away after the waiter was done talking to them.

“What do you need him for?” 

“Bring your general manager at once!” Max yelled at the waiter and he hurriedly walked out of the room.

Max and Edwin returned to their sit. The crowd watching had returned to their meals but Edwin felt embarrassed by what had been done to him and he was determined not to take it likely with them.

A bald headed young man, who appeared to be in his late thirties walked into the room all dressed up in a tuxedo suit.

He had a look of worry on his face as he approached Edwin and Max. “I am really sorry for the embarrassment sir. The waiter just told me everything that happened.” He said.

“What is your name?” Edwin asked.

“Durant sir.”

“Durant, tell every single one of your staffs that they are fired. Except for the waiter and you.” Edwin informed him.

“Sir?” 

Edwin sighed and rolled his eyes. He pulled out his phone and showed him the receipts and the deed to the restaurant.

Durant’s eyes widened in shock. He fell to his knees and begins to plead. “We are really sorry sir. Please forgive my staffs for the incompetency that they brought to your desk.”

“Very well then. The staffs can remain but I want the guards that assaulted my friend and I thrown out of this place.” Edwin instructed and Durant nods his head and walked out of the room.

“Your uncle is very powerful” Max revealed the moment they were left alone.

“I did not know he will go to that extent but it shows what money and power can do.” Edwin stated.

His phone begins to ring once again and he checked to see that it was his uncle. “Speaking of the devil” He pulled the phone to his ear. 

“Have the men harassing you been sacked?” Isaac asked.

“Yes uncle. I am really surprised that you are able to pull that out within a matter of seconds.” Edwin revealed.

“That is because I have been searching for the opportunity to buy off the restaurant. When you told me what happened to you, I knew it was time to pull the strings.”

Edwin smiled admiring the confidence of his uncle. For some reason he could tell that his father has the same personality as his uncle. “I hope you are coming for thanks giving?” Isaac asked.

“Yes uncle, I will be there once I am done eating.” 

His uncle hang up and Edwin managed to get himself together. He was glad how his life had turned out.

Now he was coming to face the people that were his family members.
