After dinner, Edwin and Max were given separate rooms but Edwin ends up in Max room discussing with him. “Did you see the way that woman was looking at you?” Max asked.

“Yea, what happened to that?”

“Dude, she loves you. I have never seen any woman want a man so badly like she does.” Max revealed.

“Unfortunately, Liam the guy who tried to throw shades at me in the dinning table claims that she has been in three separate relationships in the past. I guess her desire for man is a natural trait.” Edwin replied with a shrug off his shoulder.

Max stands up from the bed and walked towards the table picking up the glass of orange juice and gulping it all the way down. “You are still angry over what Valerie did to you.” He observed, carefully dropping the glass on the table.

“Tell me who will not be angry. This woman brought pain to me. I thought we were going to make a perfect couple and get ourselves kids.  I don’t think I can find myself loving another woman again.”

Max sighed and walked back to the bed, wrapping his body with the duvet while using the pillow as a support. His eyes still lingered on Edwin, who was standing.

“Listen, I am not an advocate for a matured man like yourself to be alone. If you like Isabella, then I think you should ask her out on a date. I am sure she is not going to refuse.”

“That is the whole point! I don’t want to go out on a date. I want to set my priorities right and at the moment, I don’t any woman inside.” Edwin revealed.

There is a brief silence in the room and only the legs of Edwin pacing back and forth could be heard.

“As your friend, I hope you give it a thought. Good night.” Max said and flicked the lights off, leaving the lamp on.

Edwin takes a brief moment and look at him, sighing and then walks to the door and pulled it opened. “Sorry!”

Edwin is startled by the presence of Isabella, who tries to maintain her composure. He could not believe that she has been eavesdropping on what they were saying.

Edwin said no other words and tried walking away. He turned around and find Isabella walking beside him.

“What do you want?” Edwin asked, frustrated by her already in his space.

“Can we talk?” She asked with a soft voice.

At first Edwin wanted to refuse but figured that if he did that, she was still going to keep coming for him.

“Fine.” He said and pulled the door to his room opened and they both walked inside.

Isabella closed the door behind her, while Edwin walked to the edge of the bed and sits down. “What do you want to talk about?” Edwin asked.

“First of all let me apologize for eaves dropping. I couldn’t help myself when I heard the both of you talking about me, while I was walking through the hallway.” Isabella pleaded.

Edwin simply nodded his head, urging her to go on. “Whatever Liam told you earlier is true. I was infact in a long distance relationship on two different occasion and the last one was within.”

“What happened to the men?” Edwin asked out of sheer curiosity.

He begin to notice the tears dropping down from her cheeks. “They all cheated on me. The last one was Liam’s best friend. He cheated on me with my friend and lied to Liam that I was a whore who slept around with men.”

Something inside of Edwin wanted to believe her story to be true. “Why is Liam reminding me about it?” Edwin asked.

“Because for some reason, he has this weird affection for me.” She revealed and then a knock on the door startled her.

Isabella opened the door and gasped seeing Liam. He shoved her aside and walked into the room with a frown on his face.

“How gullible can you be?” He asked directing his question to Edwin.  “You should know by now that most women are pathetic liars and she is one of them.”

“I am not lying!” Isabella clapped back at the top of her voice.

“It is already late and I suggest we all calm this tensed moment and go have a good night rest.” Edwin said, hoping his words will be listened to.

“I am not here for any of that. I just received news from my father that he is planning to make you the head of my company.”

“What does that have to do with me?” Edwin asked innocently.

“Did you listened to what I just said?” Liam asked with his voice slowly getting very loud. “I said that my father is trying to make you the head of MY company. The company that I rose to the top with my sweat and blood.”

The room became further tensed and Edwin tried processing what he was saying. “Then I am going to speak with him. If he truly is right about what you said, then I will suggest that hand it over to you. I am okay with the wealth that my father left behind for me.” Edwin stated.

“Your father should be grateful that he had a man like my dad. He would have been the brokie in the family.”

“Liam!” Isabella called hearing the word he had just said.

“But I am right. We both know how my father helped your father by giving him a loan that helped established himself today.”

Edwin got up to his feet angered by his statement. But he did not wanted to fight, he simply walked over to the door and pulled it open. “The both of you should leave my room.” He ordered.

Liam hesitated before walking towards the door and stopping mid-way. “If you want to be known as a true Maverick then you must work your way up to the top and not be given everything.”

He finished off and walked off. “Edwin I?”

“Please leave.” Edwin replied immediately before she could say anything else.

Isabella’s shoulder dropped in defeat and she eventually walked out.
