The ambulance had just arrived at The First Hospital, and Bianca was rushed inside for urgent medical attention.

The Grey family flooded into the hospital reception when Chloe noticed someone following behind them. She turned to see who it was, and it turned out to be Jason.

'Haven't I warned this ghost to f*** off?! What is he doing here?!'

Her panicked face turned into a deep scowl as she barked at Jason.

"Yes?! Where are you going?! What have you come here to do?!"

"Mom, I have come to see my wife. I can't leave her in this condition," Jason answered genuinely.

His words were supposed to soften Chloe's heart; instead, they infuriated her further.

"First, I don't ever want to hear you call me Mom again! And secondly, Bianca was only your wife when you were alive. After you died, she moved on with her life. You have no business with her anymore! So, get out of here now!"

Jason understood Chloe's frustration, but it would have been better if she had heard his side of the story, too.

Jason was about to explain, but Chloe barked at him again, drawing more attention to the scene.

"I said get out of here! I have no interest in whatever rubbish you want to say!"

Jason made no move to leave.

Just then, Joel suddenly burst out from where he stood and angrily pushed Jason away from the reception.

"Get out! The harm you have done to our daughter is enough! We don't want to ever see you again! Is that clear?!"

Joel shut the door in Jason's face and returned to the reception.

Even though Jason was touched by the situation, he wasn't angry with his mother and father-in-law. He understood how they felt. If only they would give him the chance to explain things to them.

Nathan appeared behind Jason at that moment and made a deep bow.

"My lord, you are the God of War of Veloria, and nothing is beyond your reach. Give your order, and it will be put into action immediately."

A small smile formed on Jason's face as he heard that. Of course, he understood what Nathan meant, but the matter at hand could not be resolved with such an approach.

"That's not necessary, Nathan. Everything is under control. Bianca only passed out because of the gruesome scene she witnessed."

Jason placed a hand on Nathan's shoulder and continued, "I already took care of her before the ambulance arrived. All she needs now is a good rest. Arrange to have her transferred to the VIP ward, and give the order that nobody should interrupt her."

"It's done, my lord," Nathan answered.

Nathan didn't expect anything less from the Hand of God. He knew Jason wouldn't have remained calm if his wife were truly in danger.

"I will leave everything in your care as I take my leave now. I have a small matter to handle."

Jason said this and left immediately.

....

At the Scott family residence, the environment was alight with joy. They were celebrating their partnership with the Kim family.

The Scott family members gathered around a large, well-decorated table, drinking and sharing laughter.

The partnership had not only been the Scott family's long-time dream; the joy of their family getting the chance to be ranked among the top families in Estava made them feel over the moon.

In the gathering were Timothy and Leah, Jason’s adoptive parents. Beside them were their children, Sarah and John. On the opposite side of the table was William, the second son of Bernard, and his children. Other family members were present too, making the celebration a memorable one.

The celebration was ongoing when William got to his feet with a wide smile and said, "May heaven continue to bless the Scott family! Who would have thought that we could eventually bag a partnership with the powerful Kim family? By this time tomorrow, the news of the partnership will have gone viral, and the Scotts will be recognized as one of the top families of Estava!"

A sweet smile spread across the Scotts' faces. They could not wait for the honor to reach them.

Just then, someone in the gathering whispered, "I even heard that the God of War will be visiting the Kims' wedding ceremony tonight."

Timothy answered smugly, "That's true! And the good news is that Father will get the chance to personally meet the God of War tonight."

"Really?!" The family members were shocked to hear that.

"Yes, for sure!" Timothy assured.

Getting a partnership with the Kims was considered great, but Bernard getting the chance to meet the God of War personally would place their family on an entirely different level.

Then, William mocked, "Isn't it great luck for us to be able to land these opportunities just by throwing Bianca to the Kims?!"

One of the family members answered, "It’s still all thanks to Jason in heaven. If he hadn't married Bianca, whom Mr. Kim Jr. already had his eye on, we wouldn't have gotten our way into getting what we wanted from the Kims so easily."

Leah cleared her throat and asked teasingly, "Do we get to enjoy these opportunities now because of the same Jason who made you all turn against my husband and me in the past for bringing him into this family?"

The family members turned to look at each other with small smiles on their faces.

None of them could deny the truth.

Then, one of them confessed, "Well, it’s something like that. As long as the Scott family is getting opportunities through it now, it means our resentment toward you and Timothy in the past has been erased."

A wide smile appeared on Timothy's face as he raised his wine glass happily. "If that’s really it, let’s make a toast to a new beginning then."

Then, their wine glasses clinked.

"To a new beginning!"

"To greater heights!"

Everyone in the gathering joined the toast and had a drink. The celebration continued happily.

Just then, Timothy noticed his son, John. He had an indifferent look on his face since the celebration had begun, and he hadn't participated in anything they were doing.

"Come with me, John," Timothy said, calling him to a corner.

With a little hesitation, the unhappy-looking John dragged his feet as he followed his father.

"Don't tell me you are still angry about a decision that has already been finalized?" Timothy asked John with a deep frown.

Instantly, John was blunt. His voice was laced with disappointment. "Why wouldn't I be angry, Dad? If there was really anyone eligible enough to marry Bianca after Jason's death, wasn't that supposed to be me? Am I not Jason's brother?"

But have you asked yourself what the family would benefit from you marrying her?"The raging John suddenly fell into silence as the question hit him."Other than the fantasy of wanting to have your way with your brother's wife, what else was the motivation behind why you want Bianca?"Timothy asked his displeased son again, and the boiling John didn't know why he felt so calm suddenly. He never expected his father to see through his tricks and tactics.John was still in deep silence when his father said to him, "If you have no answers to these questions, I think it is best to explain why Mr. Kim Jr. is more eligible to have Bianca than you are."Without waiting for anything else John had to say, Timothy left him behind and
