The Miracle Doctor: Return Of The Convict

CHAPTER 9

Ethan sighed.

“ This man has just come here to embarrass me.” Ethan thought to himself.

Looking around and seeing all the people around had their gazes on them. He felt he had to do the right thing and help the man.

“ Please get up, I will help you.” Ethan said as he bowed and held the man to help him stand up.

“ Thank you, doctor. Thank you very much. Thank you.” Mr. Frost repeated happily as he stood before Ethan.

Ethan looked at Mr. David and Chris, who looked dazed as they watched what unfolded between Mr. Frost and Ethan.

“ Please give me your contact card. I will come over to your place tomorrow to assess your illness and see how I can help,” Ethan said, trying to dismiss the man.

“Okay, Doctor. Thank you very much,” Mr. Frost said.

He turned around and signaled to one of his guards, who had opened the door for him earlier on.

The guard rushed towards them and handed a business card over to Mr. Frost. Mr. Frost added the business card to the black card and handed it over to Ethan.

Ethan nodded.

“ I will come over tomorrow so we can talk,” Ethan told Mr. Frost.

“ Thank you very much, sir. I will prepare for your coming tomorrow,” Mr. Frost said as he made his way back to the car.

A few seconds later, the escort drove away with the Sedan.

“ I'm sorry, but what just happened here?” Mr David exclaimed in shock, as though he had been tongue tied a few moments ago

“Well, he came to see me the day I left prison to treat him, but I was not in a good mood,” Ethan simply replied as he pushed the business card and the black bank card into his back pocket.

“Oh, man, this is really serious; we need to talk seriously.” Mr David said in a daze

“Oh, so this is it? You have finally succeeded in lying to the whole public that you are a doctor, right?. You just came back from jail for committing a murder, and you have already begun arranging another scam and scamming million-dollar and billion-dollar individuals, huh?” Jake said, berating Ethan.

Before Ethan could answer, Mr. David suddenly interrupted.

“ Don't answer this; let's get out of here.” He said as he tapped Ethan. Ethan nodded and led the way.

Although as they left, all eyes were on them, and some of the people even had their phones out, taking pictures of Ethan and some others recording videos.

Ethan and Mr. David went to the car garage where the cars were parked.

Immediately the valet saw him approaching, he ran towards them and handed over

Ethan’s keys to him.

Ethan unlocked his car, stood beside it, and turned to face Mr. David.

“ You said you have something to talk about,” Ethan said.

“ Yes, earlier while you were talking, you were saying something about taking a fall for the young lady. I think I am interested in that. Maybe we could get a case out of it to get the real culprit punished,” Mr. David said assuredly

Ethan hesitated for a moment, shaking his head in the negative.

“ Come on, doctor.

I am a lawyer, and I think I can help.” Mr. David eventually pressed further.

Ethan eventually gave in and opened his car door.

“Please have a seat so we can talk.” Ethan said as he motioned towards the front passenger’s seat.

Mr. David got into the car, and the two began talking, with Ethan narrating the occurrence that sent him to jail.

He reminisced on the first day he went to meet Ava at the crime scene.

THREE YEARS AGO.

Ethan was a car salesman, and an excellent one at that. Admired by many in his workplace for his excellent work and envious looks and expertise, making him drive more sales than anyone else in the company.

Ava, on the other hand, had nothing to do. Although Ethan had tried his best to talk her into getting a job, she said she was aiming to become a hair stylist and fashion designer, and Ethan was helping her to achieve her goal.

One morning, as Ethan left for work, Ava was still lying in bed as usual, as she always went to her fashion class late in the afternoons.

Ethan went to work with a good spirit, looking forward to making more sales that day. It was a few days to their first anniversary as a couple, and Ethan was planning a pleasant surprise for his lovely wife, so he had to work harder.

In the mid-morning, Ethan was in the middle of closing a sale when his phone rang.

He took it out and saw that it was Ava calling him.

Ethan hesitated for a moment before finally excusing himself from his client and answering the call.

Right after answering the call, Ethan ran out of the showroom at top speed without saying anything to anyone.

He got into his car and drove straight home.

Everyone at work began wondering what was wrong with Ethan. Even the client who had just finished signing off the document of purchase of the car was clearly astonished.

The drive was just about thirty minutes because it was mid-morning, the road was clear, and Ethan threw caution to the winds, breaking every traffic rule and moving at a hundred and twenty miles per hour.

He made the journey in just fifteen minutes.

As soon as Ethan pulled into the driveway, he stopped the car and got out, not caring to turn off the engine.

Ava met him with tears in her eyes and blood-stained hands.

“What happened?” Ethan asked, panting, as he got out of the car.

Ava stood in front of him, shaking, unable to speak.

“ Talk to me, honey. What happened? Why are your hands stained with blood?” Ethan pressed, looking at Ava's stained hands.

“He... He tried... tried to rape me. And … And …..I … I stabbed him,” Ava muttered with a shaky voice

“ Who? How? When?” Ethan asked all of them at once.

He realized he was not going to get the answers he demanded from Ava. He immediately ran past her and dashed inside.

There, in the living room, lay a pizza delivery guy with his shirt torn in half and a knife lodged in his neck, with blood gushing out like a river.

The body was laid lifeless on the ground, with his eyes popped open.

The whole floor around was stained with blood. 4

Ethan turned around and saw Ava standing behind him, trembling with fear.

Ethan stared at Ava in shock.

“ What have you done!” Ethan exclaimed in utmost shock
