Blinded by Rage

“I’ll have security remove them,” Beside him, Emilia's expression darkened. She hadn't yet figured out what was going on but she brought out her phone and dialed a number.

But Adrian shook his head.

“No need.” He opened the car door calmly.

“Stay here.” He calmly said but Emilia instinctively grabbed his wrist.

Her brows furrowed slightly. “Are you sure it's safe?”

Adrian gave her a faint look. “I'll handle it.”

For a second, Vanessa stared at him quietly. Then she slowly released him.

“Fine,” she said softly. “But if they cross the line…”

Her voice turned icy. “I won’t be polite.”

Adrian stepped out and walked towards Vanessa and Marcus.

Across from him, Vanessa looked furious enough to explode.

The moment she saw him the last shred of restraint inside her vanished completely.

“So I finally caught you.” she sneered.

Adrian’s face remained expressionless.

“If you’re here to take back the divorce papers you're wasting your time,” he said calmly.

Vanessa laughed but her eyes were already red with anger.

“Take back the divorce papers?” Her voice got serious. “Well played. You played the victim while you have been the one cheating the whole time.”

“What are you talking about?” Adrian asked confused.

She suddenly stepped forward and handed him several photographs directly at his chest.

He calmly checked them. There were photographs of him and Vanessa sitting together in the café.

Adrian’s brows furrowed instantly.

“You followed me?”

“Oh, now you’re surprised?” Vanessa snapped. “You were secretly cheating behind my back, and now you want to act innocent?”

Adrian looked genuinely confused. “Cheating?”

Vanessa almost laughed from rage.

“You still want to deny it?”

She pointed violently toward the luxury car behind him.

“You divorce me today and immediately run into another woman’s arm? I know you have been cheating on me for a long time.”

Her chest rose and fell rapidly.

“And not just any woman…” Her voice became colder and colder.

She pointed at the car. “But a shameless blonde seductress who destroys other people’s marriages!” She yelled.

Inside the car Emilia's eyes instantly turned icy.

The driver in front swallowed hard. The crossfire was intense.

Outside, Adrian’s expression also darkened.

“Watch your words.” He stepped forward.

Marcus suddenly walked forward at the same time with a mocking smile.

“Brother,” he said meaningfully, “this really is too much. You have a woman here who has sacrificed a lot for you and you choose to cheat with her. That's very distasteful.”

Adrian looked at him coldly. “And who are you speaking to?”

Marcus’s smile stiffened slightly.

Vanessa instantly exploded again.

“You still want to protect that woman?” she shouted. “Fine! Then let me see exactly what kind of woman she is because I'm going to deal with her!”

Before Adrian could stop her she stormed directly toward the car. Her heels clicked violently against the stone floor.

Adrian’s eyes sharpened instantly. “Stop.”

But Vanessa was already blinded by rage and had reached the car in seconds Marcus followed after her and then Adrian arrived a few seconds late.

She yanked the door open. “Get out here, you shameless mistress. Home wrecker—”

Her voice stopped abruptly and the entire world seemed to freeze.

Behind her Marcus looked at the lady inside the car with amusement. “How does he keep pulling this beautiful woman? This jerk must be a lucky one.” He muttered.

But at the same time this was a perfect opportunity to stand up for Vanessa and curry favor with her.

“You should be really ashamed of yourself.” Marcus smirked.

"No wonder you wanted a divorce so badly. So this was your backup plan?" He pointed at Emilia.

But Vanessa had stopped her rampage completely. Her body froze as if someone had poured ice water over her head.

“You're…” Vanessa stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper.

She stared at the woman inside the car in complete disbelief. Emilia Caldwell’s long blonde hair framed a face so stunning it almost felt unreal, but it wasn't her beauty that made Vanessa’s blood run cold. What truly shattered Vanessa’s mind was that she finally realized her identity.

This lady was the CEO of Orion Holdings! The woman countless elites in the city could only look up to.

She had even tried to establish contact with her on many occasions but hadn't been able to get past her secretary and here she was in front of her.

The woman she herself had tried desperately to curry favor with for years.

“Hey…you…get out of the car and apologize to her now!” Marcus yelled at Emilia whose beautiful face had contorted into an icy glare.

At that moment Vanessa slowly lifted her eyes. She could feel her mind go blank and her pupils contracted.

She had been so blinded by rage she hadn't even recognized her in those photos. If she had she would never have chased after them but it was already late.

A horrifying realization crashed into her like thunder. No way Adrian was with this woman what business would they possibly have together.

“Marcus this…” She swallowed hard. “...this is Emilia Caldwell.”

Behind her, even Marcus’s expression changed drastically.

But before either of them could react Emilia finally spoke. Her voice was calm and soft.

“You called me…a homewrecker?” Emilia's cold eyes rested on Vanessa.

“No, I…” Emilia froze and her face turned deathly pale.

Beside her, even Marcus lost the fake smile on his face completely.

He was stunned that the woman sitting inside the car was the famous CEO of Orion Holdings.

The untouchable queen of the business world who countless companies begged for a collaboration.

This same woman was the one whose casual investment alone had pushed Lawson's company into an entirely different class.

But she had called her a shameless mistress. Vanessa's throat went dry instantly. She knew she had pushed this beyond repair.

“H-how could it be you…” Vanessa stood a step back and Emilia stepped out of the car slowly but elegantly.

Vanessa's heart began pounding violently. Emilia Caldwell was someone she looked up to and dreamed of becoming.

This was the same person that she had been desperately trying to please for months and get her to expand the partnership that had just landed on her laps randomly.

That was why she threw herself at Marcus who was the specialist sent from Orion Holdings. Marcus promised her more sponsorships and partnerships for months so she grabbed onto him.

But the woman standing in front of her was the Big shot. One word from her would change her life.

But now that very woman was standing beside her supposed Ex-husband.

Her mind became chaotic instantly. Why? Why would someone like Vanessa even know him?

He was just a house husband with zero connection. How could someone at Emilia Cadwell’s level stand beside him personally?

She shook her head. She doubted Adrian knew her personally. Emilia forced out a stiff smile immediately.

If she can just apologize and make this like just a big misunderstanding she can fix this and even maybe get Emilia to exchange contacts with her.

Vanessa told herself she was good at getting out of situations like this and currying favor with people so this would be easy.

She just had to sweetly apologize and make this like just a big misunderstanding. She can fix this and maybe even get Emilia to exchange contacts with her.

At the same time she would embarrass Adrian and get him to beg and apologize to her. It was that simple.
