The following day, the hall was full, but everybody was anticipating the arrival of the Immortal. Wealthy businessmen, all waiting to swear their loyalty to the immortal and get on his good side.

At exactly 5pm, Demian arrived. The hall went silent.

He walked in, wrapped in the full regalia of the Alter Realm—an impossibly long coat made from thick, dark animal fur that brushed the marble floor with every step.

The coat seemed to swallow the light around him, making his presence feel heavier than the chandeliers above. Conversations died mid-sentence. Glasses froze halfway to lips.

Without asking permission, Demian climbed the steps and sat on the Overlord’s special seat.

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

Moments later, Hades emerged from the inner chamber with Marianne hanging on his arm, radiant in gold, her smile prepared for applause. The smile shattered the instant her eyes landed on the throne.
