Lorenzo woke up from his king-sized bed on a Sunday morning. He pulled the curtains off the window in order to allow the fresh rays of the sun to stream into the room.

He had never slept so comfortably as he did today. He had slept on a succulent, king-sized bed with a rich bank account; his heart couldn’t be more at peace.

He took a long, refreshing shower, admiring the luxurious and exquisite interior design in the bathroom.

Yesterday, he had gone to the garage along with Derek to pick the top five cars of his choice, which would be his mode of transportation to school.

He had gone to the garage expecting seventy luxurious cars, like his grandfather had estimated; however, when he got there, he could roughly count a total sum of one hundred and twenty cars of different designs—sleek supercars, armored SUVs, vintage classics, and machines he had only ever seen on magazine covers.

Lorenzo had frozen at the entrance, overwhelmed.

Derek, on the other hand, had looked amused. “Your grandfather underestimated,” he had said calmly. “This is only one of his garages.”

Lorenzo had walked between the rows slowly, afraid to touch anything at first. Every car looked unreal, like it didn’t belong to him. In the end, Derek had guided him, explaining what each one was best for—speed, security, comfort, anonymity.

They had finally settled on five: a black luxury Rolls Royce Phantom, priced at over thirty million dollars—it was sleek and imposing, perfect for school appearances; a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, worth nearly fifty million dollars for comfort and quiet anonymity; a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, valued at close to ten million dollars, which Derek had insisted was “mandatory”; an armored Range Rover Sentinel, custom-built with “Byers” boldly written at the back; and finally, a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, a rare vintage masterpiece Derek said could auction for over a hundred million dollars.

Lorenzo had gone completely silent.

“These are… insane,” he had cajoled.

Lorenzo had sighed; thankfully, driving was not his problem since he used to work as a driver for part-time jobs during those times for the rich students.

Now, standing barefoot in his bedroom, Lorenzo let out a slow breath as the memory faded. He needed to go back to his school dormitory as soon as possible—before anyone started asking questions.

He slowly put on the clothes that he had told Derek to get for him last night. After being in this luxurious house, his clothes suddenly felt like a rag he no longer wanted to put on his skin anymore.

Derek had gotten him a few clothes, and he had made mention of getting clothes with no known brands—just plain, quality T-shirts that could feed ten people for a year.

The T-shirt Derek had chosen lay folded neatly on the bed. No loud logo, No brand name stitched on the chest. Just clean lines, heavy fabric, and quiet quality. Derek had called it plain, but Lorenzo knew better the moment he touched it.

...

He picked it up and wore it, it felt so soft and comfortable on his skin.

He need to rush to school as soon as possible because he knows that his friend Evan and Jayson would be worried sick about him ever since his disappearance without a word.

He adjusted the hem of his dress staring at his reflection for a brief second longer than necessary.

He shook his head and grabbed his new phone from the bedside table.

He had jiust told Derek to get it for him with a new sim card which symbolizes new identity.

He had discarded his sim card, mkaing it hard for.

.

missed calls, from Evan or Jayson at least—but several messages stacked unread. Guilt pinched his chest. He hadn’t meant to disappear like that. Everything had just… happened too fast.

Lorenzo slung his backpack over his shoulder and stepped out of the room.

The mansion was eerily calm, the kind of silence that came with money and space. As he descended the stairs, Derek was already waiting near the entrance, dressed immaculately as usual, one hand of his resting casually in his pocket.

“The car is ready sir,” Derek said, already aware that Lorenzo is leaving "The tinted Mercedes, it definitely won't draw attention. you can drive that to school or do you want to use a driver sir??" He asked.

Lorenzo stared at the car, then back at Derek anxiously, "There is no need for all that yet." He said.

"what are you talking about sir?" Derek asked Confused.

"I want to keep a low profile in school for now. I won't be using them, but once I need them, I will have them brought to me" He said.

Derek's jaw dropped but he quickly recovered, though the surprise was still in his eyes. He straightened, schooling his expression back into calm professionalism.

“As you wish, sir,” he said after a brief pause. “But security protocols... "

“I’ll be fine,” Lorenzo interrupted gently but firmly. “I’ve lived normally all my life. I just need… time.”

Derek studied him for a long moment, then nodded. “Very well. But the cars and drivers will remain on standby, sir. One call—that’s all it takes.”

Lorenzo exhaled, feeling relieved. “Thank you.”

He heaved a heavy sign, he was now going back to school, with an entirely different identity.

The tall woman’s perfectly shaped brows furrowed as she sized Lorenzo up from head to toe. Her gaze lingered on his faded T-shirt and worn sneakers, and the corner of her lips curled in disdain. She let out a sharp laugh. “And who exactly are you supposed to be?” she sneered. “Another charity case?” Lorenzo’s expression remained calm, almost indifferent. But his eyes were steady—cold and unwavering. “I believe she already apologized,” he said evenly. “There’s no need to humiliate her.” The woman scoffed loudly, flipping her long, glossy hair over her shoulder. “Humiliate her? Do you even know how much these heels cost?” She lifted the pair dramatically. “These are custom-made. Imported. You wouldn’t even understand the brand if I told you.” A murmur rippled through the growing crowd. Some recognized her; she is a frequent customer of Louis Vuitton, and she was clearly wealthy—dressed in designer clothes from head to toe, dripping in jewelry that screamed status. Others whispered
