CHAPTER 12

It has been 2 days since Abraham woke up, and he is still here in the village of Rang. The elder insisted that Abraham should stay due to the injuries he still. Since there is this examination so he can be accepted as an adventurer, he needs proper rest or else the guild won't even let him have an aptitude test. So, knowing that, Abraham stayed. And during his 2 days stay in this village, he has learned a lot. These people are all nothing but victims of the apocalypse also. Their original town was utterly pulverized by the apocalypse, that they headed for the mountains for safety. The guild in their city got extremely wiped out as it is just a newly founded branch. However, they managed to escape because of a mysterious person. And that person turns out to be Edward himself. He says that he came from the rejected giant clan where the giants who never reached the requirement of one is being put. And he is part of that clan. He was a reject that is finding his purpose in this world by traveling. Since he was not taught properly, just how to read and write, he was an idiot in this world basically. He keeps blabbering about him finding a master as that is what the so-called prophecy was saying, but he never really tells anyone about it, or there wasn't a real prophecy and he just made it up. But the important thing is, Edward defended these people. He didn't even know these people, and yet, he carried them on his shoulder for the fallen adventurers. He was strong, he has powerful magic too. And based on what he showed to the village, he is a tank mage. His durability is also out of this world, it was if he was made of steel. However, he is so strong, that he started to think that strength is the answer for everything, hence being an airhead. He is too confident about his strength, that he never cares about him having muscles for brains. But still, the people of this village are grateful to him for saving them without asking for anything in return. And he is—then a sudden chaos erupted. The villagers started running towards the center of the village and was cowering. Some went inside the small huts where they live in and closes the doors. Abraham, who was in the woods with some loggers and Edward and was gathering some wood heard the commotion. So, they rushed over to the village as fast as they can. And as they arrive, they saw what they did not expected to see. The villagers are in a circle and was being surrounded by aswangs. Some demon-like creatures that closely resembles the actual demons, but at a much lower rank than them. Aswangs are at least B-class, and that is actually high. The village guards were also around the villagers and is preventing the aswangs from touching any of the villagers,

"Oh! Enemies!" Edward yelled as he then charged into battle immediately,

"Edward!" Abraham called as the meathead did not even listen to him and just rushed forward to the monsters.

The aswangs saw him and they immediately turned their attention to him and attacked. With their fangs out and razor-sharp claws and their foamy saliva dripping, they all pounced at Edward who was laughing as he charges into battle. He took out his spear and began to fight,

"I'll show to my master that I am—"

And it wasn't even a second until Edward got mobbed by these monsters. But to Abraham, something is wrong again. These monsters only come out at night as they are like vampires, they are afraid of the sun. And yet, they are here, attacking in the middle of the afternoon. In any case, Abraham then ordered the other loggers to escort the villagers out of the battlefield as it is going to be ugly in many ways. The loggers followed as Abraham himself rushed into battle. He drew his sword from the homemade scabbard that the villagers gave him that is made from wood. He drew his pure black sword and caught the attention of the monsters. Some turned to prepare to attack him, but they were saying something again. And Abraham right now is very confused, as he doesn't know why he understands monsters, especially the demons from before. Nevertheless, Abraham engaged in battle. He is swinging his sword like what his father has taught him. He is not depending on the strength of his upper body alone now, he is also using the strength of his lower, especially his hip. An aswang was about to slash him with its sharp claws, but Abraham blocked it with his sword and then he swept the aswang's feet and as the monster fell on the ground, he impaled it. And then, the other aswang leapt towards Abraham, but with his experience in the battle of Ozo, he has learned a lot, and that is to always keep his guard ultimately up, even when not in battle, as you never know when someone will suddenly attack you. So, he used that experience, he crouched down, and as the aswang flied above him, he raised his sword up and it slashed open the stomach of the aswang like so. Edward, who was fighting 7 aswangs at once looked at his master with that a smile that reached his ears,

"That's my master!" and then an aswang then jumped on him and bit him on his thick neck.

His reaction was priceless. Instead of worrying that the bite might be poisonous or something like that, Edward just took the aswang out of his neck and then chocked it with his strong hands,

"I am praising my master, don't butt in, you persistent little bugs!" he snapped as he crushed the neck of the monster and the gooey purple blood covered him entirely.

His teeth were also covered because he was speaking when he crushed that monster so easily. And since he was getting pissed by these monsters dangling around his ginormous muscles, he then went to impale all of them with his spear and just like that, he has an aswang kebab. Abraham laughed as this guy is a funny one. But then, five more aswangs launched an attack behind Abraham. And before he could react and turned around, he accidentally said a magic spell that summoned lightning,

"Lith Worom." Abraham chanted and 5 lightning bolts hits and fried the aswangs.

Edward laughed as it wasn't a mistake that he made this guy as his master. It was if the prophecy is being shown to him personally. In any case, Edward used his magic as the aswangs he turned into a kebab were still moving. So, he then said a spell,

"Ifrit Lape." He hushed.

And it was the spell that gave Abraham the knowledge that Edward is a fire mage. And when you have the fire attribute, you will be regarded as one of the strongest immediately. Edward then turned the aswangs into ashes. After that, Edward called the villager out as it was now over. Everyone thanked the two as they were watching the two fight the monsters from afar. And there is without a doubt that they look perfect as a duo. It may be an insulting thing, but Edward can serve as Abraham's shield, and Abraham can serve as Edward's sword. In other words, these two can be unstoppable when together.
