Jason felt composed as he approached Green blossom hotel, it was evening already, and the cold breeze was refreshing.

Today was Jade's birthday, his girlfriend, and she is celebrating it in one of the most luxury hotels in the neighborhood.

They have been dating for two years now, and he hasn't given her a tangible gift. Last year, he only prepared a giant cake, which she loved, but it's not worth boasting about.

This year he wanted to do something special, so he did a painting of her, she has always admired his painting, during the two years of their relationship, he has painted countless popular art works and some ancients ones for her.

Jade admires popular painting, and he is good at painting anything, it's one of the reasons Jade has an unyielding love for him.

She will definitely love this.

Jason enters the hotel, among his peers in his dormitory, he is the only one with a girlfriend, and a beautiful one at that, he is truly lucky that Jade came into his life and accepted him for who he is.

He reached the party room, he was about to step inside the room when he heard somebody's voice. The person was holding a mic, so his voice was louder than the music.

“Jade Anderson. I dare you to kiss Robert Jackson for five minutes”

Jason's heart skipped when he heard the words, what is going on here, why are they asking Jade to kiss Robert Jackson, what is Robert doing here anyway.

His heart was beating rapidly, and he stayed motionless, he was lost in fearful thoughts.

Jason finally got his senses back when the crowds were suddenly screaming from inside, he entered the room and the unimaginable was happening in front of him.

Jade was kissing Robert lustfully.

The painting Jason was holding loosened from his hand and fell to the ground.

Bang!

The shattering sounds covered the premises, everyone instinctively moved their gaze to the doorway.

Jason was motionless at the doorway, his heart was pounding heavily, he struggled to voice out.

“Jade”

Jade turned to see it was Jason, her heart vibrated a little, but she regained her composure quickly, it's not her fault that he came late, she had already announced that she was no longer dating him.

Jason's heart beat continued to increase, seeing Jade didn't respond to him.

He stepped forward with his shaking legs.

“Jade, what are you doing. What is this, were you forced”

His words darkened the faces of everyone around, they couldn't believe he was this shameless, how dare he come to ruin the fun, does this look like a place where the likes of him can enter as he pleases.

“Jason, how shameless are you, Jade has already ditched you, why are you here!

“What with those words of yours! Are you daydreaming”

Jason's heart skipped, what is she talking about, Jade and him are still together.

He faced Jade, hoping she would say something now, she always cleared the air in situations like this.

Jade finally stepped forward, Jason's heart rate slowly dropped to normal.

What Jade did is still flashing in his head, but she was probably forced to, and she is coming to him to explain everything.

Jade reached Jason. Jason wanted to voice out, but Jade's loud voice swallowed his words.

“Didn't you come here for the food. Why don't you just tell them already”

Everybody burst out laughing, how can they forget that one, Jason, the lifeless pauper, he is probably hungry, that is why he is here.

Jason was dumbfounded, before he could recover from Jade's words, Jade grabbed a dish of cake from the table and slammed it on his face.

“Here, take what you came here for”

Jason was rendered speechless and motionless by Jade's actions.

How can Jade do this to him, he is her boyfriend for goodness’s sake.

Everybody was laughing out their belly, Robert chuckled slightly on his side, he stepped forward to Jade.

“Jason, how do you plan to show your appreciation, Jade just feed you, or is it not enough”

Robert hugs Jade from behind, he kisses her on her neck, then he faces Jason.

“Don't tell me you want some for your roommates, those pigs!”

Jason's heart tightened seeing Robert was hugging Jade from behind, and Jade wasn't pushing him away, he hadn't hugged Jade before, only once, and it wasn't up to five seconds.

He can't count that as hugging, but Robert is tightly hugging Jade from behind, even going as far as kissing her on her neck, he doesn't even want to talk about the earlier kiss.

Jason's fist was shaking.

“Jade, why are you doing this. I thought we loved each other”

Robert couldn't help but burst out laughing, Jason's words were so funny that everybody was laughing too.

“Jason, how dumb are you, don't you understand the meaning of class, how can somebody like Jade Anderson love you.

“She needed somebody to help her hold her bags, and you fit that category, don't call that love”

Jason fist hardened.

“I wasn't talking to you, I am talking to Jade”

Jade released herself from Robert's embrace, it's time she enlightened this bumpkin boy.

“It seems you haven't seen my post on my page, and you came late to witness my announcement. Well, I will say it to your face now. It's over, Jason, you and I are done.

“I can't spend my life with a worthless pauper like you”

  • CHAPTER 276

Jason’s eyes were sharp now unshaken, unwavering.Every word he spoke rang deep and true. His voice wasn’t loud, but the strength behind it made the room feel smaller. More intense. More focused.“This is not me bragging,” Jason said slowly, his gaze still fixed on her. “And this is not me trying to make things harder for you.”He took another step closer.“This is me telling you the truth, Summer.”His voice was low. Steady. But there was fire behind it now a steady flame that had been building since the moment he stepped in to help her.“We’re going to do this,” he said. “You and me.”Summer swallowed hard. Her lips parted, but no words came out.Jason’s expression didn’t waver. “The people who think they can crush you today the ones that think they can humiliate you, break your spirit, and make this your last chance in the field…”He shook his head.“They’re wrong.”He took another breath and said with quiet force, “They won’t win.”Summer’s heart pounded.Jason went on, voice hard

  • CHAPTER 275

The room had started to feel a little less heavy. Jason’s words hung in the air like a promise—steady, unwavering, and full of conviction. For a moment, Summer almost wanted to believe every single thing he said without question. But then, reality tugged at her again. She exhaled softly, then slowly shook her head.Jason tilted his head, watching her, waiting for her response.“You’re doing too much,” she said gently, almost under her breath. Her eyes didn’t meet his right away, instead trailing across the empty chairs and the quiet stage ahead of them.Jason’s expression didn’t change, but she could tell he heard her clearly.“You’re talking too much now,” Summer added, her tone firmer, but not cruel. She looked back at him, crossing her arms.“Even though I listened to what you said—about us doing this together, about making everything work—I know it’s not going to be easy, Jason.”Her voice cracked slightly with honesty.“I know it’s going to be hard,” she said. “Like, way, way dif

  • CHAPTER 274

Summer stood with her arms folded tightly across her chest, her eyes blazing from the fire of disappointment that hadn’t yet cooled. Her heart still felt like it had been dragged across broken glass—by the betrayal, the letdown, and now the weight of responsibility that refused to let her breathe.Jason watched her quietly. He wasn’t the kind to talk just to fill space, but now, the way she was spiraling… he knew if he didn’t step in, she would drown in her own thoughts. So he stepped forward.“Well,” he said evenly, his voice gentle but edged with firmness, “I honestly don’t understand where you’re driving at anymore.”Summer blinked at him, caught off guard by the calm in his tone.Jason continued, “The deal has already been done, hasn’t it?”She stared, her mouth slightly open.“It’s been signed, closed, and put behind us,” he said. “So now that it’s done—why not let it go?”His voice didn’t rise, but the words had weight.“Why not stop going in circles about what didn’t work and f

At that moment, Summer stood frozen at the edge of the grand hall, her heart thudding unevenly in her chest. The lights were up. The stage was set. Every single detail had been carefully laid out—the decor, the displays, the sound systems, the media arrangements. Every moving part of the project had been rehearsed and perfected. She had spent weeks making sure this event would be nothing short of flawless. This wasn’t just another gig. This was the opportunity.A shot she knew she couldn’t afford to miss. Something that could open doors far bigger than any she had walked through before. Something she had dreamed about for years. And now, it was starting to fall apart right in front of her.She had tried so hard to keep everything under control—to make sure there were no cracks. She had managed every call, every vendor, every last-minute adjustment. She had given her trust—one single trust—to the person she thought would help her carry this to the finish line. And that person had faile

  • CHAPTER 272

It was a hard decision to make. Summer didn't want to declare as a failure at the first stage of the event. Her grandfather would proclaim her a big disgrace to the family and the little benefit her father have been enjoying from the family would be gone. She didn't want her father to lose the little ground he had. It would be better for to quit from the event than be it on history that she participated in the event and failed at the first stage.Seeing Summer was silent for a long while, Jason spoke out a bit disappointed.“I guess that means no. It's understandable. I respect any choice you make. It's your life, I don't get to decide for you.”Summer struggled to respond back to Jason.“Thank you.”She voiced out as she ended the call. When she ended the call, she threw the phone far on the table. Jason also did the same thing. He lie on the bed and wonder why he forced Emma to make the hard choice. Surely, she would blank out of it. He would've just let her know that he was an exp

Jason stayed on the line as he waited for Summer response. The decision was up to her, but he would've loved if she could trust him enough to agree that he should help with the project.“I know how hard you have been working on the project. I am the only person that have seen you and Austin practicing all the steps. It would be easy to explain the steps to me, but I don't think you even have to because I know everything.”“Summer, don't let this go to waste. This is your future, buy it's okay if you don't trust me, it would be bad for you not to go than humiliate yourself in the process”Jason rearranged the table of the conversation. He had been dreaming of getting betrayed by one of his most trusted friend. This was the right moment to start testing all his friends, although he might not be able to find fault cause he love all his friends.Summer was silent for a while before she finally spoke.“Before anybody would be allowed to participate in the event.
