All the police officers looked at themselves, wondering why their superior was telling them this.

What were they going to do with the information? They were just a bunch of ordinary police officers who didn't know much.

They were not trained to combat armed criminals and would only be throwing away their lives if they thought of it.

"You don't have to be scared." Tim continued, narrowing his brows, knowing everyone was worried.

"What I'm trying to say is that the SWAT team is on their way and will be in Orange County anytime soon." He announced.

Hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but still, they wondered why their superior was telling them all of this.

"We are expected to work together with them so they would be able to nab the criminals,"

"After all, their success also contributes to ours."

Everyone's expression changed upon hearing this, and they nodded, agreeing with Tim.

"Also, we would be given some credits this time as the criminals are already wanted, so it would be a good thing if we could lend a hand," Tim stated, his eyes scrutinizing everyone present.

"You should all get ready; they will be here at any second; we are going to lead them to Crestwood Bank and provide them with the minimum support they might need."

"We don't need your support; after all, you'll be nothing but a hindrance if we allow you to come with us." An arrogant feminine voice sounded at the moment forcing everyone to turn towards the voice.

Walking into the police station was a beautiful young woman dressed in a fitting uniform slightly different from the one worn by Tim and the others.

Besides her was a young man who wore a frown as though it was an attire, his eyes darting around.

"You're here already." Tim hurried forward, face filled with smiles.

"Keep that for later; we need to head to the Crestwood bank right now; we've wasted a lot of time," The woman scoffed, stopping Tim from approaching with just a raise of her hands.

"Officers, let's go. We'll lead the SWAT team to the Bank and provide them with the support they need." Tim's voice turned serious, commanding the others.

"Are you freaking deaf? Didn't you hear what I just said?" The woman sneered, eyes filled with disdain.

"I said we don't need your help. You all are just a bunch of flowers in a greenhouse and know nothing about the battlefield. All we need is for one of you to take us to Crestwood Bank."

"Or do you all think a bunch of fatsos would be of any help?" The lady added, glaring at the group of officers, refusing to mask the disgust in her eyes.

"Selena, there's no need for you to get annoyed over a bunch of trash." The man by the lady's side spoke, his voice calm.

"Justin, I know. But who would take the blame if one of those fatso is to die? Also, they would end up hindering us, and the criminals would escape." Selena scoffed, rolling her eyes at her colleague.

"In the end, the blame would fall on both of us, and you know well what would happen. Or do you want to take any blame because of these trash?"

The police officers' expressions changed upon hearing this, and they were all furious. But deep down, they knew Selena was right.

After all, most of them were out of shape, so what help would they be able to provide?

"What the heck are you all thinking? Do you think the criminals would wait for you all to wallow in your self-pity?" Selena snapped, seeing the officers silent.

"Let me tell you." She huffed, eyes spat daggers at the officers.

"If those criminals were to get away. You would have to take the blame. You would all be arrested for aiding the criminal's escape since you all refused to say anything."

The officers’ expressions changed upon hearing this. Though they wanted to refute it, it was the truth.

"I don't care what you all are feeling. Which one of you fatso is going to take us to the damn bank? We are running out of goddamn time for heaven's sake." Selena cursed, her eyes widened seeing how the officers cowered, refusing to say anything.

"Hurry up and say something, or else you would all take the blame if they were to escape," Justin scowled, his gaze also turning cold.

All of the officers glanced at each other, none dared to step forward. It was not that they were not brave enough, but the two in front of them were arrogant and they were going to lose it all if they wanted to volunteer.

Besides, their lives were precious, and they knew once they went to the place of the robbery, there was a high chance that they were not going to come back.

After all, the SWAT team was not going to take notice of them and since they would be going, they would be forcibly intertwined with the shooting and all others.

If any slight mistake, then they were going to be visiting the god of the Underworld.

They didn't want that as they wanted to live long. Besides, they were accustomed to the normal patrols and rounding of petty criminals and thugs who were disturbing the peace of the society.

So handing armed robbers was not something they knew how to do.

"Are you all going to shut up like turds and refuse to lead us to the bank?!" Selena finally lost it all, breaking the silence.

She was so angry that the veins on her forehead popped out looking like they were about to burst out of her head.

But still, none of the police officers dared to move. Even Tim was covered in sweat, and he could feel his heart pounding against his chest, and it was like it was going to burst out at any time.

"Fine, since you...."

"I'll take you to Crestwood Bank," A low voice cut off Selena, who was about to insult the officers once again.

"Ring! Ring!" Jasmine's phone rang just as she was about to reply."Grandfather, you wouldn't believe who I ran into today at the company." Jasmine began, not letting her grandfather, who had called, talk first."Who was that?" Bruce's old voice came from the other end of the phone."It's the policeman, Ryder, who saved us the other day," Jasmine replied, the excitement in her voice evident."Invite him over, I was not able to thank him personally for saving us the last time." Bruce's old voice came, and Jasmine turned to look at Ryder, who was standing just beside her.The phone was on loudspeaker, so Ryder heard w

"We....." The sales girls stuttered, sweat covered all their foreheads as they looked at the figure standing right in front of them.Standing right in front of them was Jasmine. The real estate company was one of her family's numerous properties, and she decided that since she was in Orange County, she was going to come have a look. She had gone in with the managers and others, and also she was introduced to the sales girls, so they naturally knew who she was.She was just done with the meeting and was about to head back home when she ran into the sales girl insulting Ryder. This instantly made her furious, after all, Ryder saved her from being sexually assaulted. If it was not for him, she didn't know what would have happened to her. Though she was a spoilt brat, she still had some sense of appreciation and instantly stepped in to defend Ryder."And you." Jasmine finally broke the silence as she turned to look at Joyce, whose eyes were wide open, and it was as though her eyeballs wer

"Huh?"Ryder froze, then turned around to see who it was as he felt that the voice sounded familiar.Turning around, Ryder smiled bitterly the moment he saw who the other party was, his mouth twitching slightly as he stared at her.Wasn't that Joyce, his ex-girlfriend? What the heck was she doing here and what the heck did she mean by trying to catch her attention?Looking closer, he saw Joyce clad in the same attire that the sales girl before was wearing, and instantly, something dawned on him, then he took a look at the brochure once again.Seeing the name, he suddenly realized why she thought he had come to impress her.He had forgotten that Joyce worked as a sales assistant in a real estate company, and that was how she was able to meet many rich scions.Which in the end caused their break up as she felt that he was not going to achieve anything again. After all, his rank in the police was quite low and it would take almost forever for him to be promoted. So she couldn't spend her

  • Nice Display

Ryder sighed as he stepped out of the station. Tim's words were still echoing in his head, and he still couldn't believe that Tim had such an idea. But then at the same time, he felt as though he was right. Scorpion and his underlings most probably had connections, and it was going to take a bit of work to be able to capture them. But then would they be punished just as Tim had said they would? He was right, at most, it was a life sentence. But if he were to follow Tim's idea, that would mean that he would become a cold-hearted killer, and that was not something that he wanted. He didn't want to become a cold-hearted killer. Not all criminals deserve to die. Some were not into killing, just like the small thugs who would steal bags and stuff.Though some were also deserving of death, like Scorpion and his underlings. All he had to do was just to make sure to draw a clear line and it was going to be fine.Ryder sighed and shook his head, putting the thought to the back of his mind. Th

  • Tim's World View

(The Next Day)Ryder walked into the station looking deadbeat and tired. The night before, he didn't get home early as he spent his time making sure the children were taken good care of.It was not until midnight he got home. As a result, he slept in and woke up late, resulting in his late coming. At the moment, Ryder had forgotten about his fatigue and just wanted to look for a way to get the higher-ups involved in the case.He didn't want the man to escape unpunished, he wasn't going to let it happen.Looking around the cell, Ryder froze as he couldn't find the man and his minions again. What the heck was happening? Didn't his colleague arrest and bring them back to the station?Where the heck were they? He couldn't understand what was happening."Hey, Ryder. What are you looking for?" Ryder's colleague walked up to him, wondering what the latter was looking for in the cell."Someone was arrested yesterday night, and I'm pretty sure he was brought here, now I can't find him." Ryder

  • Bet You, Nothing Would Happen To Me

"You bastard, how dare you treat children in such a way!" Ryder roared and rushed into the house without caring about anything."Who the heck are you?" The man narrowed his brows, observing Ryder, who had barged in."Your doom." Ryder sneered and rushed forward, not wanting to waste his time with the man."Beat him up." The man commanded, waving his hands at the two bulky men standing by the side.He had seen Ryder's attire and thus didn't give a damn. He was a little bit amused and wondered how a lowly police officer like Ryder had the guts to break into his den.The two men approached Ryder aggressively, they also looked down on him and thus didn't take him seriously. But at the moment, Ryder was pissed, so he charged directly at the two men, grabbed their incoming fists, using their momentum to pull them to himself; he suddenly released them and gave them an uppercut.Just as though they were hit by a moving truck, they were sent flying."Crash."
