Arriving upstairs, in one of the most opulent suites in Oui Devoir,

"Can I have the necklace?" Bethany asked. "I know a skill artisan who can help restore it." She assured.

"That will mean a lot." Irwin handed the necklace over to her, but his expression remained dark.

If it wasn’t because of the necklace, then was it that brat’s so-called brother-in-law that keeps Irwin's expression darkened?

Interesting, Bethany couldn’t help thinking.

"There is a charity banquet coming up, and I'm the host." She started.

This shifted the attention of Irwin to her, even though the scowl still lingered in his face.

"Would you do me an honor of coming to the banquet?" She asked.

Irwin didn't have to think much about it.

"Thanks for the invite." He said. "But for now, I just want to rest." He added, rubbing his forehead.

"Maybe next time." He sat down, looking away.

"In truth, this banquet was organized in your honor." She explained. "My father asked me to extend this invitation to you, and if you would permit, I'll be delighted to accompany you to the venue."

Irwin thought about it for a moment.

"Alright. I will." He replied.

“That's great!” She suddenly became relieved.

Meanwhile, Dorathy Rolan was in the car with her son. Her fingers were trembling as she tried to put a call through.

"Isabella!" She exclaimed as soon as the call was connected. "You won't believe what just happened."

"Mother, what happened? Is everything alright?" Isabella answered, anxious about her mother's pitch.

"Guess what just happened?" Dorathy demanded.

"You know I'm busy with work, mother." Isabella was getting impatient.

"Irwin!" Dorathy exclaimed. "We just saw him! He has been released from prison."

"What? That can't be true. I just met him today." Isabella argued.

"Do you think I'm lying?" Dorathy was offended. "In fact, he is now involved with a wealthy woman! All along, that wretch has been cheating on you!"

"Upon catching him with the woman, we confronted him. But guess what? He had people beat us up!" She started crying.

"Irwin was cheating on me?" Isabella's voice was getting strained. "He even had people beat you up when you confronted him?"

"I swear." Dorathy added.

"That can't be true." Isabella refuted. "He’s not that kind of person."

"Are you calling your mother a liar?" Dorathy was already annoyed.

James has been hearing the conversation and was especially enraged that his sister would not believe their mother.

"What the hell, Isabella." He snatched the phone from his mother. "Are you going to place that bum over us?" He added.

"James?" Isabella was getting nervous.

"I swear with everything holy that Irwin kicked me in the face. In fact right now I'm bleeding." He lied. "If you don't believe, you can come to the hospital right now. We are on our way there."

"Blood?" Isabella exclaimed.

"Don't panic. We are already on our way to the hospital." James replied.

Although worried and scared, Isabella was half in doubt of what she had just been told.

"I can’t go to the hospital right now." She answered. "I'm going to a charity banquet tonight with Danny Ceballos. He's here with me."

"Danny is there with you?" James's face lit up upon hearing that. "Hi, brother-in-law."

"Don't be silly, James." Isabella quickly scolded. "Me and Danny are only business partners."

"I apologize for his rudeness." James could hear Isabella addressing Danny Ceballos.

"Don't be hard on him, Isabella." Danny replied. "Besides, being acknowledged by your family is an honor for me." A smile danced about his lips.

Isabella gave no reply to that.

"Alright, I’ll come check on you guys later." She urged over the phone then hung the call.

There was a paste of worries plastered on her face after dropping the call. She couldn't get those words off her mind.

Seeing this, Danny leaned in, trying to strike up a conversation.

"You don't have to worry about anything." He assured. "With me around at the charity banquet, securing cooperation with Rathclif will be a piece of cake."

Isabella nodded at him, sparing a perfunctory smile.

But there was something eating up her mind.

What James had said about Irwin being involved with another woman was boggling her.

"Goodness." Gamaliel exclaimed at the sight of such randomness. He wasn't prepared for it, so he wasn't sure of what to expect. At first, all he could see was the back side of the people because a great deal of them were returning into the city. Few who were coming out of the city were male figures. Apparently, he wouldn't want to look at the sensitive areas of his fellow gender. That would be weird and irritational. Suddenly, one of the women whose back view already provoked a stimulus reaction throughout his body, turned around to talk to one of the men. His eyes instantly drifted to the areas of her body that sent every of his body into a wave of heat swamp. His lower area bulged as an effect and he didn't know how to feel. He instantly looked away from it. He had a woman. It was inappropriate for him to be looking at other women like that. Even if he had power over his own will and could do whatever he chose, yet there was moral expectations. Looking away, his gaze shifted to

"What is this?" Gamaliel was at loss for what regarding what was playing out right in front of him. It was something that he couldn't have predicted. He could still tell that they were inside the room, likewise were they in the ocean. Although the water level was rising in the room, he didn't feel like he was inside the water. Also, the walls and furniture in the room weren't wet."How can this be?" Gamaliel held on to the question, willing to get an answer from Edward. He rose to his feet and started to pace. He wanted to judge whether or not it was because he was sitting. Perhaps if he were to walk around, there might be a shift in reality. Yet no matter how much he labored in getting a contrary experience, the reality remained stagnant. "That's the wrong question." Edward said casually. "We shouldn't get carried away by things like this. There is much more to be occupied with.""This is trivial?" Gamaliel asked, turning to look at Edward. If he didn't know better, he probably wo

"The elect." Edward answered that almost all of a sudden. Edward was much more eager to do carryout the instructions of the Father other than dwelling on the things he had just done. Gamaliel couldn't understand something either. People whom he knew would relish in the thought of what they had done. Especially whenever they had ended up killing people or achieving a feat that none other could. The aftereffects of this feat usually made them react in a way. Inclusive of himself. The ego is puffed and there was a way they looked at themselves. It was something that anyone would prune. On the other hand, Edward seemed unbothered by it. Like it was his second nature. If he wasn't moved by something like this, then what in the world could be able to bring out his most shocking reaction? Gamaliel didn't know what to think. "The elect?" He asked as though he had just snapped out of his own thoughts. "Yes, the elect." Edward replied. "Who is an elect?" Gamaliel asked, dwelling on the p

"What---" Rowan wasn't sure of what else to say to complete that sentence. He was at loss for words. He wasn't the only person who was caught between those claws of confusion. Photel and the rest were equally stunned. Elder on the other hand was the most clueless. "What just happened?" Egan, who had been quiet all along couldn't hold back anymore. Just like everyone, he had watched how Elder had tried to disprove what Edward had just done. Although he didn't understand what Edward did either, yet he couldn't deny what he had seen. Elder acting that way was rather thoughtless and a result of pride. "Can you explain to us what happened?" Egan came to a halt right in front of Edward.Elder didn't know how to take this. He didn't want to look pitiful either. He retained the solemn look on his face. It was rather a task to keep up such an act even though things have taken another turn. "The business of demons is quite a delicate matter." Edward began to explain. "The will of the soul

As the order shot from Edward, it would seem as though his voice was a siren, or a blast of waves crashing against a rock. It was so powerful, effective and chaotic. The guns which the soldiers were about to cock sudden became disassembled and dropped from their hands as though they were disarmed by some supernatural force. They all dropped on their knees in the same choreographed manner and raised their heads towards the sky. All their mouths became wide opened and a scream shot forth from them. The pitch and depth of their scream was more of a roar. It was eerie, dark and very much powerful. It could be compared to when a nuke was deployed into a land, whose explosion lasted for at three hours. Black fog of varying shapes started to float out of the nostrils and several body parts of the soldiers as the scream went on. They were being rid of some force that had hijacked their body system from them. They quaked so violently that the scream or roar looked like it could rip their

"All ten thousand of them?" Elder exclaimed, able to judge the severity and urgency of the situation from the reaction of Photel. Rowan already wasn't the type of person to be scared by things like this, but to speak of Photel? Photel was obviously shaken by whatever it was that was happening outside. The banging became even much more heavy and fiesty. Judging by the weight and the manner at which the door was being hit, it was only a matter of moment before the door might cave in or even cave in. There was a kind of noise they were making. This didn't sound like the sound of soldiers who had been given the order to wipe out a civilization. Instead, the sound of their voices were ominous and eerie. "What are we going to do?" Rowan asked, risking his life as he pressed his back to the door. Even if the door would be broken down, he wanted to be first person to be killed. It would be such an honor for him to fall down first in the group of distinguished and powerful men like this.
