Lucien's eyes snapped open, and he gasped for air as if he'd been underwater for too long.
He looked around, confused, and saw that he was in a room with old-fashioned furniture and clothes. He examined his hands and saw that they were smooth and young, unlike his old hands which were rough and scarred. He touched his face and realized it was no longer disfigured. Lucien jumped off the bed and walked to a mirror. He was shocked to see a handsome young man staring back at him. “What is happening? How did I get here?” He wondered. The last thing he remembered was a little girl stepping onto the road, unaware of the danger posed by an incoming truck. Her careless mother was busy on her phone, oblivious to the fact that her daughter had strayed. Lucien, wearing a face cap and dark shades to conceal his disfigured face, had been on his way to school. However, with the little girl's life at stake, he didn't hesitate to remove his shades and sprint to her aid. His cap blew off his head due to the wind, revealing his disfigured face. Just in time, Lucien saved the girl from being hit by the truck, and they both crashed onto the other side of the road. Lucien wrapped the girl in his arms, absorbing the impact to protect her. “You are safe now,” he said to her. But as the little girl looked up at Lucien's face, her expression immediately indicated horror when she noticed how disfigured it was. She quickly ran away from Lucien towards her mother, crying in fright. Lucien's heart shattered into pieces as the crowd stared at him with disgust. The mother scooped up her daughter in her arms and left the scene without even saying thank you. Lucien clenched his jaws in pain as tears rolled down his eyes, feeling a deep sense of déjà vu that recalled the pain of his past. He was once a very handsome young man admired by many, but things took a turn after he risked his life to save his fiancée from a burning building and got burnt himself, only to be paid back with a break up from his fiance who couldn't bear his new looks. At that moment, a man called out to him from behind, mocking him, “Hey, man, are you putting on a costume for a horror movie role, or is that actually your real face?” In that instant, the crowd burst into laughter, a common thing that happened to Lucien everyday. Unable to bear anymore torment, Lucien ran away from the scene overwhelmed with emotions. But Just a few steps later, a loud crashing sound could be heard, and Lucien's body lay on the ground, blood all over him, beside a van that had just hit him. Now, Lucien standing in front of the mirror, he couldn't help but ask himself. “How am I still alive? Is this heaven? Or is this hell?” As he pondered, memories started to come back – not his own, but those of the person whose body he was in. He realized that he had transmigrated to a place called Mystical Dragon City, and his name was Lucien Feng. A handsome but intellectually disabled young man from a poor family who couldn't read, write, or even cast a single spell ever since he was born. He was married into the Zhang family, to a lady named Emma Zhang, who was very sick at the time. A fortune teller had mentioned that marrying would save her life, and Lucien Feng didn't hesitate to accept the role of the Zhang family's son in-law despite the risk that Emma Zhang's sickness could become his. Now that Emma was better, her family didn't need Lucien anymore and wanted to get rid of him. “Like me, the owner of this body was also rejected after risking his life for the woman of his life." Lucien thought to himself. Just then, he heard two servants talking outside his room. One asked, "Is he dead?" The other replied, "I think so. I saw Lady Emma drop something in his medicine. I think it was poison." The first servant warned, "Be quiet! If Lady Emma hears you, you'll be in trouble." The servants opened the door and saw Lucien standing there. They screamed and ran away in fear as if they had seen a ghost. From the conversation, Lucien Feng realized that the person whose body he was in had been murdered by his own wife, Emma Zhang. And that is why he took over this body. He smiled coldly, thinking, "I'll make the most of this new life and make those who wronged me regret their actions." Just then, he saw his wife approaching in a hurry, with a look of surprise on her face which later changed into a fake smile. Following closely behind Emma was another man. Lucien wondered who he was, but before he could ask, information about the man appeared in the air like a holographic display. Lucien's eyes widened in surprise as he read the information. The man was Herbert, a skilled healer who had dedicated his life to studying medicine and healing spells. Lucien's mind reeled as he realized he could access information about everything around him. He could see data and details about people and things around him, or even see through them. “ It is just like having x-ray vision.” Lucien thought. “Does this have anything to do with me being a medical student in my previous life?” He wondered as he anticipated what other mysterious abilities his new body possessed. "Oh goodness, are you fine now Lucien Dear?" Emma asked, her voice mixed with insincerity as she forced a smile. Lucien decided to play along, pretending to still be intellectually disabled. "Yes, I feel fine like I wasn't sick in the first place," he replied, trying to maintain a foolish expression. Emma's face betrayed her anger as she turned to Herbert. "How is this possible?" she demanded. Herbert performed a few checks on Lucien before shaking his head. "I don't know how it happened. It's like a miracle." Emma's frustration was evident in her behavior, but she quickly composed herself. Lucien, having noticed this, asked, feigning ignorance. “"What's wrong, wife? Did I offend you?" Emma forced another smile. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just happy the gods have brought you back to me." "Me too," Lucien replied, playing along. Emma handed Herbert a small sack of silver coins. "Thank you, doctor. You can leave now." Herbert bowed and departed, leaving Emma and Lucien alone. Emma's demeanor changed instantly, and she turned to Lucien with a cunning gaze. "Lucien Dear, now that you're awake, I want to discuss something with you." Lucien pretended to be attentive. "I'm all ears, my wife." Emma began, "First, thank you for marrying me as the fortune teller instructed, It saved my life." She paused, her voice taking on a colder tone. "But now that I'm fine, I don't think we can continue to be husband and wife. We're not meant for each other." “Uh… I don't understand. What do you mean wife?” Lucien feigned confusion, maintaining the role of an intellectually disabled person. Emma sighed in frustration, but before she could continue, a man strode into the room, walking with pride and authority. "Damien Lee," Lucien recognized him. The Lee family was a middle-class family known for their fancy restaurants. Damien approached Emma, his expression condescending. "Why are you talking to him like he can understand anything?" he asked mockingly. "The only thing he understands is force." Damien stood in front of Lucien, his eyes sneering. "Listen, Lucien. Emma is now my fiancée. Your services are no longer needed. If you fail to comply, I'll make you suffer beyond your wildest imagination. Go back to Ravenshire village and live with your miserable family. Is this understood?" Lucien nodded, pretending to accept his fate, but inside, he seethed with disgust. “I am too handsome to settle for Emma, anyways. Who is just the daughter of a third-class fabric maker.” With his newfound looks, he was determined to marry the most beautiful, powerful, and richest lady. As Lucien accepted his supposed defeat, Emma turned to Damien with a worried expression. "Since I was once married to Lucien Feng, I can't just throw him out without a concrete reason. It would tarnish my family's image and harm our business." Damien chuckled. "Don't worry about it, Emma. We can just say Lucien Feng stole an expensive artifact and sold it. That'll give us a valid reason to kick him out." Emma smiled, relief washing over her face. "Thank you, Damien." Lucien couldn't believe the audacity of the two, plotting against him right in front of him like he was invisible. Minutes later, Lucien was thrown out of the Zhang family mansion. “ Lucien Feng, you are accused of theft. You were welcomed here with open arms into the Zhang family, but because you come from a poor family who didn't train you well, you paid us back by stealing a priceless artifact with the intention to sell.” Emma's father, Mr. Gerald Zhang, Accused Lucien as the crowd gathered outside, watching in disgust as Lucien was tossed onto the streets. “From now henceforth, you lose your status as the son-in-law of the Zhang family and are no longer welcomed to this home. Now, return to your miserable life as a nobody!” Lucien stood up, brushed himself off, and smiled. "I'll make them pay for this," he promised himself. With determination, he walked away from the Zhang family mansion, ready to take on the world and make his mark.

In The Chao Mansion, a group of three sat in a meeting. The head of the Chao family sat in stunned silence, his eyes wide with disbelief. "It's impossible, absolutely impossible," he muttered, shaking his head. "Lucien Feng is notorious for being worthless. Does the King's Mansion have no regard for their reputation?" Drew Pin Yin turned to Master Zhang, his brow furrowed with concern. "Did Lord King mention who the groom is when he suddenly sent out wedding invitations today?" The head of the Zhang family shook his head, his expression grim. "No, but it absolutely cannot be Lucien Feng. Even if the sun rose from the west, it wouldn't be possible." Drew Pin Yin's eyes narrowed. "I've received an invitation to the wedding tonight. I'll go and see for myself if the King's Mansion son-in-law is truly Lucien Feng. We better prepare in advance." He stood up, determination etched on his face. "I'll also go, though I don't have an invitation. The Mystical Turtle City King surely won't tu

Lucien entered the backyard of the Chao company again, where he started dyeing fabric with the purple formula. Leveraging his modern knowledge, he added a key ingredient that would surpass the Zang family's production.Meanwhile, the Zang family had already finished producing their fabric and were showcasing it to the officials and judges who had arrived. "Look at this beautiful purple fabric," Emma Zang said, holding up their finished product. "I'm sure it will be hard for Lucien to match this quality. If at all he knew anything about dyeing."The officials praised the Zang family's fabric. "This is indeed a beautiful piece of work. We are impressed by the quality and vibrancy of the color."Emma smiled, confident in her family's abilities. "Thank you, officials. "I wish you the best in overtaking the Zhang Company in the fabric business."Mr. Chao nodded, intrigued by the formula. "Verify this formula," he told his head staff.Thirty minutes later, the staff member returned with a new piece of fabric. "It's successful, sir.
