The Return Of General Antonio

Chapter 008

Antonio avoided the drama that comes at the wrong time, he can’t risk disappointing Meghan or miss the wave of shock that is about to hit Richard and Jenifer. So he left the drama at Techcity for Benjamin to deal with.

He picked Meghan up to join him in a taxi, even though taxi are not allowed anywhere near Radisson. It was really a place where social status requirements is a pandemic and Antonio plan to change it soon since it belongs to him now.

Now that he needed it, he collected his exclusive premium black card from Benjamin. A unique card that only seven of them existed in the world.

It grants access to almost every request and is also used to make purchases with a minimum funding of $800,000,000. It is a symbol of wealth and power.

They finally arrived at Radisson, asked the Taxi to pack at a distance and decided to trek down to the entrance. Before he could even think of anything a security guard has stopped them.

“Stop right there, you can’t be here”

“oh if you come for the security post vacancy it has already been occupied, jobs here are hotcakes and I don’t think you both are fit to even be cleaners here” another guard added.

His attempt to show them his exclusive premium card proof abortive, the securities push them aside and threaten to release the security dogs on them.

Meghan is already doubting Antonio's promise that it has been sorted, that he knows someone that will get them inside.

Antonio who is already getting footage on his phone showing Richard and Jennifer are already inside. He couldn’t afford to waste more time with the securities, so he put a call through to Benjamin.

“haven’t you informed the manager here of my arrival?”

Benjamin tensed on the phone “ I have, he is waiting to welcome you”

“Tell him I’m at the gate, the security won’t let me in nor check my card”

Benjamin was furious, got permission to end the call and immediately call the manager to inform him.

The two security guards burst into laughter as they watched Antonio .”I never knew you are a comedian, a call to report us? Who do you know?”

“After waking up from your delusion, leave here with that chick you’re lying to” the other security added.

They were both caught up in laughter and failed to notice when the manager walked up to them, he landed a slap on their face in quick succession.

“How dare you!”

“sir…sir we are only doing our job, it is this low-life disturbing the atmosphere” one of the security guard pointed at Antonio and Meghan.

This made the manager more furious; he raises the sole of his shoe and hit him hard. Then ask the securities he brought to take them away.

The manager ushers them in and despite being warned previously that Antonio doesn’t want noise or reveal his identity, he still offers to take them on a tour around Radisson garden luxuries but Antonio quickly turn it down.

He requested for directions to the reception floor where Richard and Jennifer are located, he had order delay in breaking the rejection news to them.

They got there just in time.

Jennifer slams her hand at the reception front desk, Richard by her side.

“This must be a mistake,” she snapped. “We paid the full deposit. So this venue is ours”

The receptionist gave an awkward smile, not moved by her words. “I apologize, but Radisson will be unavailable for all external events throughout next month. Someone has booked everything.

Jennifer’s jaw dropped, she could not believe her ears “who dares do such, who has such capability?”

“I’m not obligated to tell you that. But your booking has been cancelled and your deposit will be refunded before closing hours today.

Richard, who had been busy trying to make some calls, suddenly stopped and faced the receptionist. “I want to see the manager; you can’t just cancel the booking. Don’t you have any idea who my father is?”

The receptionist ignore them.

As they were ranting, Antonio makes a text from his phone to proceed with the next action, which is a little surprise for Meghan, which will announce their presence and further hurt Richard and Jennifer.

Meghan phone rings.

It was a call from the festival of cuisine, the committee that handles the delicacy to be served at the yearly kingstonian business summits. This year's edition is the most glamorous as eight world leaders will be attending, a perfect opportunity to build connections.

Jennifer has applied to the festival of cuisine to handle the event using one of her family companies, with the contract estimated at twenty million dollars budget.

And most importantly looks forward to meeting world leaders she can invite to her wedding and build more connections. Antonio had learned of all this and used his influence to apply an entry for Meghan, with her restaurant.

“The festival of cuisine just called me”, she shouted to Antonio. “They are handing over the food contract for the Kingstonian business summit to me! Can you believe it?”

Antonio pretending to be shocked “wow this is massive! Big congratulations to you Meghan”

Jennifer turned instantly recognizing Meghan's voice, her voice always irritated her right from highschool and always had been in competition with her.

Looking straight at her to see her laughing gently annoys her, but she assumes it is just a blab, no way festival of cuisine will grant such a big contract for a prestigious event to someone like Meghan.

“We will get back to how you got here,” she sighs.

“But how dare you mention yourself and festival of cuisine contract in same sentence, what level of disrespect! “

“We are not in the mood to play games with you peasants, the security will surely be in trouble for letting you come in” Richard starts to call the security attention.

Antonio started to laugh. “the sooner you realize, the better for you. No wedding at Radisson and definitely not getting the contract”

Jennifer is now pissed more than ever, she hates to see that Antonio and Meghan are seeing them in this situation. “you will tell that your low-life opinion to the security that will fling you both out and sue you”

“The peasants surely don’t know the fine to pay when you trespass at Radisson, hundred thousand dollars!” Richard said, walking up to them.

Four well-built security men approached from behind, marching towards them and when they almost got there, turned to Richard and Jenifer.

“You both need to exit the building now since you have no business here again and you need to do it now or we use force and that will come with hefty fine”

Richard's eyes turn red, how can they mistake him for the one to exit the building, that’s an insult to him. “you must be tired of your job to be making such mistake,” he shrugged, pointing towards Antonio and Meghan “this are the peasants you need to bounce out and sue them, they don’t belong here”.

“Identifying them isn’t even difficult, how are you qualified to even be a security guard?” Jennifer added.

This made the senior security officer angry. “Then you leave us with no choice”

He signal to rest of the security and they all close down on them.

They however altered their step as Jennifer screamed erupt all of a sudden.

“No this is not possible!” she trembled , dropping her phone as if it was hurting her hand.

Richard retrieves the phone to check the content, and reads:

”Hi Jenifer, unfortunately the committee has decided we won’t be granting you the contract for the Kingstonian business summit; we’re going with someone who better reflects the festival of cuisine values. Kindly return any promotional material in your possession within 24 hours.”

Jennifer was weak to the bone. “Does that mean the contract was truly given to Meghan?” she thought, but still refuses to believe that is possible.

Before Richard and Jennifer could get hold of the situation, the securities, haven had enough of their tantrums, rough handled them and throw them outside, with extra fine for trespassing.

When the atmosphere had calmed, Antonio decided to move to the final step, which is giving Meghan a good time out at Radisson which includes a tour, cinema, karaoke and dinner night he had arranged.

But the anticipated sweet moment was cut short when Meghan's phone beep from an incoming call.

She picked and the words hit her like a thunderstorm.

“Meghan, we have adopted you and treated you with love all these years. Now is your time to do your part to save this family. You will be getting married to Mark Gregor from Gregor family and it has to happen within 48 hours so get back so we can work on the papers”.
