Denver walked out through the castle gates.

Ronny didn’t leave his post but noticed Denver’s right arm and said, “I was expecting you to lose an arm, but you did better than I expected.”

“This won’t happen again,” Denver said and walked away.

He didn’t want to start a conversation, not knowing how Ronny would react. Denver didn’t want to fight Ronny right now as it would put him at a great disadvantage.

Also, he accomplished the purpose of his visit, so there was no need to fight Ronny anymore.

“Will there even be a next time?” Ronny voiced his mind aloud. “No one knows what will happen in the next second. So, you’d better not assume anything if you want your future to be bearable.”

Denver looked at his right arm which froze like a rock. Looks-wise, it seemed normal, but he wasn’t able to move it even a millimeter.

His fingers weren’t moving, either.

“If I had improved my somatic aura, this probably wouldn’t have happened,” Denver thought. “I need to master all three forms of aura. I

Catherine didn’t want to lose. She had already pathetically lost against Philip, so she especially didn’t want to lose again, and not against some gatekeepers.Catherine’s pride made her want to face the danger head on even when it was the same as risking her life.As her bones cracked and her body got pushed back, Denver waved his arm.A thin streak of electricity buzzed past Catherine’s ear and penetrated through the shockwave and dispersed it, which caused the inner walls of the tower to crack everywhere. The two female guards looked a bit astonished by the fact that Denver was able to stop their combined attack without much of a problem.“Krgh, dammit,” Catherine’s arms were shivering, and her knees felt weak. “Just from blocking that attack for a few seconds, huff, huff, my body is at its limits.”“Stopping that attack even for a second is commendable,” Denver voiced his mind. “You did well.”Denver’s words somewhat softened the stinging pain in her arms.“But don’t recklessly ri

  • CHAPTER 440

Catherine and Denver returned to the White Tower on foot this time.“Where’s the horse cart?” Catherine got angry at the gatekeepers because she couldn’t find it at the entrance.“We don’t know,” they replied coldly, not liking how Catherine was yelling at them.“You don’t even know which direction the horses went?” Catherine asked, clenching her fists tightly. No, we don’t.”“Thought so,” Catherine immediately leaped at them. “Then I’ll make you remember.”Denver didn’t stop her. They both attacked her with scimitar swords with holes in them.Together, they not only managed to block Catherine’s fist but also managed to push her back.“What?” Catherine was quite surprised.“Don’t think we’re just your regular guards,” the two women used aura while swinging their swords in complex manner, creating cutting waves that flew toward Catherine.Denver swiftly stepped in and blocked most of those attacks and deflected some of them. The deflected attacks cut through the nearby trees as if they

  • CHAPTER 439

Not far from the eastern shore of Rose Park, there were eagles and vultures eating the leftovers.Tyron was also thrown among those leftovers. Two vultures approached him curiously. They poked him, checking to see if he was still alive or not.Tyron opened his eyes. He was fully covered in blood. His body was cut open at many places. If he was left like this, he’d surely die in an hour or two. Thanks to the clouds hovering nearby, it was cool even in daytime, but the problem was the vultures who seemed keen on eating him despite realizing that he was alive. One of the bigger vultures approached him.Tyron tried to release aura out of his body, but it wasn’t working. The vulture plucked out some flesh from his chest and tossed it into its mouth. The other vultures saw that and started walking toward him.Tyron’s heart picked up pace.He looked around and saw seagulls and crows in the distance. He opened his mouth and spoke in the tongue of seagulls, but none of them responded to him.

  • CHAPTER 438

Denver walked out of the underground dungeon beneath the Rose Tower.“Cat!” he called out.Moments later, Catherine jumped down from the top floor and landed not far from him.“Denver, what are you doing here?” She seemed both happy and confused. “Did she also send you away? I was worried that she might have had ulterior motives. What exactly happened after she sent me here?”Denver briefly told her what happened, excluding some details.“The man with a staff?” Catherine thought about it. “We should ask Rose. I’m sure she’ll help us.”Denver was surprised. “I didn’t think about Rose at all. I’m so stupid.”“No, you’re not,” Catherine quickly said and then talked to Rose on her mobile. “Send us the list of people in Hawkers who use staff for a weapon.”“Sure,” Rose replied. “Give me a few seconds.”“Why did you say ‘people’? We only need men.”“It doesn’t hurt to include women in there,” Catherine smiled. “What if those women happen to be part of Ilene’s group?”Denver was startled.“Y

Ilene looked at the maids, and they all left.Only Denver and Ilene were in the chamber now.“The nuisance is gone,” Ilene looked at Denver while rubbing her arms with pristine white soap. “We can freely talk to each other now, but… why are your eyes still shut?”“She closed my eyes,” Denver replied. “She will want me to stay this way for now.”“Not even asking where I sent her,” Ilene smiled with amusement. “What a crazy romantic man. I’m starting to understand why you burst into Crimia for someone you loved. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the luxury or the interest to ever fall in love. From a young age, I grew up killing people. Love was an emotion I didn’t know of until I turned into a teenager and my hormones started acting up. Do you know how I acquired my light ability?”“I don’t.”“I got it from killing the man who tried to violate me,” Ilene said in a calm but deep voice. She didn’t sound casual about it as that incident still haunted her at times.Denver remained silent.“Haha

  • CHAPTER 436

Denver and Catherine were outside Rose Tower.“It’s taking quite long. I’ll be right back,” Denver told her and went into the tower.“Take your time in the toilet, love,” Catherine laughed. “I’ll be waiting.”Denver smiled and just shook his head.Moments later, Alex brought a white horse carriage. It was quite beautiful to look at with all the silver and gold and jewels studded everywhere.“Whoa, we asked you to bring a horse, and you brought this?” Catherine’s eyes lit up. “Not that I’m complaining!”She quickly got onto the carriage and drove it around.“Be careful. I got it for rent,” Alex warned her. “If something happens to the cart or worse the horses, we’ll be forced to pay a truck load of money.”“I’ve got it,” Catherine assured him while having fun driving the cart in circles around Rose Tower.Alex watched nervously, hoping nothing would go wrong. “I have to get back to practicing the Directional Arts, but I can’t help but worry about the horse cart.”A minute later.Denver
