Chapter 7
Kane didn't flinch. He didn't even make a move. He stood at that same spot, his expression unreadable. But he only reacted. His wide-open palm instinctively reached out, grabbing the man's clenched fist, stopping him completely. The man tried to break out, but he couldn't. Kane's grip was something else. People had already gathered to watch. Their eyes widened. These men living in this room were feared by many in the neighborhood. And just one man is standing against them? Kane looked straight into the man's eyes. His own eyes were cold. Without any warning, he twisted the man's arms. It cracked. A sharp groan escaped the man's lips. “Arrhh!" He screamed, wincing in extreme pain. "Was gentle but you tried to show how arrogant you are.” He twisted his arm again. Then, what followed was a brutal kick in the stomach. The man staggered backward and landed helplessly on the ground, coughing vehemently, clutching his stomach. The second man, the last man standing, without trying to fight back, quickly pulled out his phone from his pocket. Judging by the way Kane effortlessly dealt with his friend, he knew he was no match. Therefore, he dialed a number with trembling fingers. It connected. “There's trouble, sir!" He called. “The building you rented out to us, someone….." His gaze met Kane's, assessing him as if searching for the perfect description. “A tall, young man stormed in and is attacking us. My friend is down as I speak." A response came out. The man still shivering shook his head. "Don't know who he is or where he is from. He doesn't look familiar. Don't —-” He was still speaking when Kane closed the gap. Without a word, he yanked the phone from his grip and slammed it hard against the wall. It shattered instantly, the pieces flying across the room. The man quaked and he jerked backward, eyes filled with pure terror. Kane didn't follow him. He stood right there, glaring. "This is my house. My father's property. So, you're the unfamiliar people here.” A pause. "I want you both to vacate immediately!” He pointed toward the exit. Everyone exchanged confused glances. The man who had made the call, on hearing that, retained some courage and shook his head in disagreement. "Who the hell do you think you are? And what's that false claim?” He continued, his tone sharp. "Or you think we don't know what you're trying to do? Let me tell you, the owner of the building is dead. His son, his killer, has been arrested. Sentenced to life imprisonment. So, this building belongs to Boss Brian Collins. And I've called him." He carried on in the same tone. His voice dripped with arrogance. “Now, there's no escape!" Kane didn't flinch. “I don't want to repeat myself," he started, his voice calm, but carrying a hint of danger. “Pack your things and start to leave and I would consider pardoning your ignorance." The man didn't fear. His face twitched with disgust. "I should be the one saying that to you. Because once Brian gets here, you'll regret it.” Kane looked at him for just a few seconds. Without responding, he stepped forward, retrieved a seat, and then sat down. He crossed his legs. "I'd love to see that bastard.” Not up to ten minutes he sat down—- Outside….. Old, rough-looking Hilux trucks rolled onto the street. Tyres screeched. Dust pulled up as the trucks abruptly came to a stop. Four men jumped down from the trucks. One, wearing a black, thick jacket, held a bottle over his shoulder, his cold eyes scanning the place with a sinister smile plastered across his lips. The other two held batons, swinging them. The last man. Tall. With broad shoulders. Stepped down. A long, thick cigar stayed between his lips. He held no weapon unlike the other men. This man was no other person, but Brian Collins. The person that the man inside had threatened Kane with. Immediately all gazes fell on Brian Collins, knees buckled, almost giving out. They dropped to their knees, bowing to the ground. Brian moved, one hand in his pocket, the other holding the cigar between his fingers. His gaze swept over everyone. “Get up, all of you," he uttered, "today's no tax day. Get back to work.” Everyone hesitated. Then rose, resuming work. Brian then started to march toward the building. His men followed quietly behind him, swinging their weapons, a clear sign they hadn't come to play or negotiate peace. Just as Brian came to view, the man, the particular one whose arm Kane had twisted and who had been wincing in agony, stood up and scrambled at his feet. “Boss," he whimpered, “he almost killed me. Please, avenge me." Brian glanced down at him, a hint of pity in his eyes. He was silent for just a second. Then. “Stand up." His voice was barely above a whisper. Then he moved. Just as he entered the room, his gaze instantly fell on a man with almost the same body fracture as him, sitting on a seat, leg crossed over another, his expression totally unreadable. Brian's face twitched with a frown. "That's him!" The other man—the one who had called Brian—hurried forward, his voice edged with urgency as he pointed at Kane. "He's the young man who barged into the room without permission. He claimed the building belongs to him and ordered us to pack our things and leave immediately." Brian didn't respond to him. He raised his head. Gaze fully on Kane. He assessed him carefully. The way he was seated…..calm. Composed. Without fear. Nothing. Just completely relaxed. Caused Brian to blink. "Young man,” he finally called out to Kane, "who are you? And everything he just said, are they true?" He asked, expression turning dark already. Kane didn't answer his query immediately. He gave it some time. A few seconds passed. Then. “Yes." Kane tilted his head firmly without any trace of fear. “And I want all of you out. Just now. This minute as we speak."Latest Chapter

Chapter 9: Strange faces
Chapter 9Kane winked. The name sounded familiar to him. But he couldn't instantly tell or remember where he had heard such a name. He waved it off and straightened his posture. “Bo Chen?" He repeated. “Who's that?" The lady looked up slightly. “The old man from the prison. The one who taught you what you know now." Boom! The word struck. He remembered. He shifted. "You mean Bo Chen, the old man from the prison?” The lady tilted her head. "Yes,” she confirmed. "Where's he?” Kane quickly asked. The lady's lips parted with a smile. “That's why we're here," she said. “He sent us to bring you to him." Kane narrowed his eyes between the men and the lady before finally settling them on the lady. A trace of doubt and suspicion crossed his face. Bo Chen had suddenly disappeared from the prison with no trace of where he was. And suddenly, he's sending people to bring him?How did he even know he was out of prison? Kane questioned himself in his mind. Then another thought came. What

Chapter 8Hearing that, Brian turned to his men and let out a smirk. “He's brave, isn't he?" He asked, amusingly. The latter nodded, all with an entertained smirk. "Bravery leading to death.” "Hahaha.” The men laughed. Brian then turned to face Kane. His face turned dark. "Hey, you crazy?” He asked, his tone hardening. "I don't care to know who you are, but I want you to disappear now. Just as you came.”No movement.Kane didn't even bother to look at his face. His fist tightened."I'm talking to you,” he roared, eyes turning red. Kane lifted his head. Just a bit and slowly. "I said, stand up and disappear!” No answer immediately. Then a second passed and….."That's what you should do. Not me," Kane finally responded. “This is my house." Brian blinked, taken aback by his response. His men exchanged looks. Just then..Brian crashed out. "How dare you talk back at me!” Without any other word, he turned, grabbed a bottle from one of his men, weighed it at Kane's level, and

Chapter 6: Kane visits his village
Chapter 6That evening….In a village, in a particular compound, not really tidy, people moved around, carrying out different chores. Some mothers backed their children, pressing the others against themselves while staying focused. The compound was busy with chores. Just then—A car pulled over and stopped. Chores stopped. Some stood straight to scan the car. A trace of fear was slowly creeping onto their faces. Some parents were secretly pulling their children closer, whispering to them to hurry inside. At that moment while they were watching, a tall, calm figure stepped down from the car. It was Kane Wade. And this is his hometown. He hadn't forgotten it. He took in the place briefly before pulling out a bill from the money Williams Johnson had given him and handing it to the driver. He turned and started to walk toward a particular building. All eyes followed him, watching in silence. Kane then paused. In front of him stood an abandoned building. The building was bui
