Chapter 9
Kane winked. The name sounded familiar to him. But he couldn't instantly tell or remember where he had heard such a name. He waved it off and straightened his posture. “Bo Chen?" He repeated. “Who's that?" The lady looked up slightly. “The old man from the prison. The one who taught you what you know now." Boom! The word struck. He remembered. He shifted. "You mean Bo Chen, the old man from the prison?” The lady tilted her head. "Yes,” she confirmed. "Where's he?” Kane quickly asked. The lady's lips parted with a smile. “That's why we're here," she said. “He sent us to bring you to him." Kane narrowed his eyes between the men and the lady before finally settling them on the lady. A trace of doubt and suspicion crossed his face. Bo Chen had suddenly disappeared from the prison with no trace of where he was. And suddenly, he's sending people to bring him? How did he even know he was out of prison? Kane questioned himself in his mind. Then another thought came. What if these people are part of those men who killed his father that night and had gotten information that he's out of prison and they're plotting on killing him through these tactics? Kane stared at the lady in hush, genuinely assessing her. What if this is nothing but a plot or conspiracy? He thought over it while still staring at the lady. “You have nothing to fear about," the lady interrupted, snapping him out of his thoughts. Kane tilted his head slowly. Indeed, he shouldn't be afraid of anything. He has all it takes to defend himself. Aside from that, this will be a great privilege to bring those who killed his father to justice. Following that, he replied. "Alright. Where's he?” "At The Vampire Empire. That's his dwelling place." A gasp flew across the room. Everyone nearby who heard that name gasped, eyes going wide-open. Brian and his survival men exchanged glances. “Vampire Empire?" Brian muttered, utterly stunned. “And he—" he pointed at Kane with a trembling finger, “he's referred to as Master?" “Fuck! We're in trouble!" Without knowing the reason for the mumbling, Kane said, " Take me to him.” But the lady hesitated as she rose and straightened her posture. Her gaze swept over the room. Brian and his men and other onlookers who heard the name kept shut immediately. “Who are they?" The lady asked with a frown on her face. Kane shrugged. “Don't know them." The lady's expression turned cold. What followed was…..a hit against her other palm. A silent sign that indicated something mysterious. Next….the men in black suits, lifted their heads in unison, pulled out guns from beneath, cocked them, and next….. Triggers. They fired only at those who heard the name, ‘Vampire Empire.’ In seconds…. Lifeless bodies lay on the ground. Brian was gone. So were his men. Including the man who had earlier approached Kane when he first arrived. All gone in a blink of an eye. The men shoved their guns back in. A woman screamed far off and rushed forward, dropping to her knees beside the man. A boy child ran after her and dropped down too. "My husband! You killed him!” She cried, sniffling. The boy's red eyes turned watery as he sobbed. "Papa….wake up!” He shook the father, but no way. He was gone. His gaze went up and he glared fiercely at the men. “You killed my papa….How dare you kill!” He screamed, furious, filled with resentment. "I'm gonna kill you too!" At that moment, Kane's head began to spin. Memories of how his father was killed that night started to rush back. And the boy's words? Those were the same statements he made. Something like a bell continued to ring in his head as he heard the young boy screaming and crying. "Why did you do it?” He shouted, holding his ears as if trying to block the trauma that had just resurfaced. However, before any response could be given, Kane had moved in a flash of light and seized the actual man's neck, who had shot the boy's father. He lifted him, tightening the grip. The man, suspended in the air, gulped, kicking the empty air. His eyes were filled with terror. "I—it w–was an or—order.” He was stuttering. "Please, do—-" Before the lady could interfere, Kane tightened his grip the more, twisted the man's neck. And—- Crack. His neck broke. The man collapsed to the ground. Lifeless. Noise ceased. Absolute stillness. The lady gasped and gulped. The other men instinctively moved backward. Then the lady stepped forward, bowing. "I—I’m sorry,” she stammered her words. "I didn't mean for that to—-" Enraged, Kane interrupted, “Take me to Master Bo Chen," before storming outside.Latest Chapter

Chapter 8: Brian couldn't believe his eyes
Chapter 8Hearing that, Brian turned to his men and let out a smirk. “He's brave, isn't he?" He asked, amusingly. The latter nodded, all with an entertained smirk. "Bravery leading to death.” "Hahaha.” The men laughed. Brian then turned to face Kane. His face turned dark. "Hey, you crazy?” He asked, his tone hardening. "I don't care to know who you are, but I want you to disappear now. Just as you came.”No movement.Kane didn't even bother to look at his face. His fist tightened."I'm talking to you,” he roared, eyes turning red. Kane lifted his head. Just a bit and slowly. "I said, stand up and disappear!” No answer immediately. Then a second passed and….."That's what you should do. Not me," Kane finally responded. “This is my house." Brian blinked, taken aback by his response. His men exchanged looks. Just then..Brian crashed out. "How dare you talk back at me!” Without any other word, he turned, grabbed a bottle from one of his men, weighed it at Kane's level, and
Chapter 7: Brian's Entry
Chapter 7Kane didn't flinch. He didn't even make a move. He stood at that same spot, his expression unreadable. But he only reacted. His wide-open palm instinctively reached out, grabbing the man's clenched fist, stopping him completely. The man tried to break out, but he couldn't. Kane's grip was something else. People had already gathered to watch. Their eyes widened. These men living in this room were feared by many in the neighborhood. And just one man is standing against them?Kane looked straight into the man's eyes. His own eyes were cold. Without any warning, he twisted the man's arms. It cracked. A sharp groan escaped the man's lips. “Arrhh!" He screamed, wincing in extreme pain. "Was gentle but you tried to show how arrogant you are.” He twisted his arm again. Then, what followed was a brutal kick in the stomach. The man staggered backward and landed helplessly on the ground, coughing vehemently, clutching his stomach. The second man, the last man standing, wi
Chapter 6: Kane visits his village
Chapter 6That evening….In a village, in a particular compound, not really tidy, people moved around, carrying out different chores. Some mothers backed their children, pressing the others against themselves while staying focused. The compound was busy with chores. Just then—A car pulled over and stopped. Chores stopped. Some stood straight to scan the car. A trace of fear was slowly creeping onto their faces. Some parents were secretly pulling their children closer, whispering to them to hurry inside. At that moment while they were watching, a tall, calm figure stepped down from the car. It was Kane Wade. And this is his hometown. He hadn't forgotten it. He took in the place briefly before pulling out a bill from the money Williams Johnson had given him and handing it to the driver. He turned and started to walk toward a particular building. All eyes followed him, watching in silence. Kane then paused. In front of him stood an abandoned building. The building was bui
