"Young master, you don't have to suffer again. It's all over." The elderly man announced, trying to hide his watery eyes.
He recognized their family butler that had served as a father figure to him right after the death of his parents and his heart was flooded with a mix of emotions.
Clinton's face was flushed. The constant hardship that was weighing his shoulders almost made him forget his identity as the super heir of the Dragon West Group.
The group that had been rumored to pull down a nation in the past. But how come their heir live such a life?
Seven years ago, right after the death of his biological parents, he was sent away from the city in the east to start a new life. Something that was called a poverty program.
If he was able to complete the program alive, he would be able to gain wealth that was beyond the wildest imagination.
"I wish that I had been able to help, however, there was nothing that I could do." He said.
Clinton nodded his head. He had done more than enough already. He would never break the family rule.
However, he had seen the way that Rosa had always longed for the position of the queen and wanted to help her.
He had not only gone out of his way to seek help, he had even dragged someone else into it. Blinded by his love, he didn't even think about the consequences of his actions. What if he had been caught?
Clinton's hands were clenched. He quickly pushed the thoughts off from his head. There was no need to think about her now since it was already all over.
He walked forward and hugged the old man tightly, his eyes were filled with the emotions that were trying to surge out but his wit was able to withhold them.
"I have missed you a lot!" Clinton said parting slowly.
"You have grown into a fine young man. I am sure that your parents would be more than proud if they get to see you again." Uncle ping's smile dried out at the end of it, knowing that he had said something that was totally wrong out of his excitement..
The death Of Clinton's pretends carried a lot of miseries. One that he should not know about at the moment.
He drew a really deep breath, rather for the next question that was going to come after him with closed eyes.
"Are you going to tell me about my parents now?" Clinton inquired with a long face that made him smile.
"I'm sorry."
Right from the first day, Clinton could tell that there was something wrong about his parents death but he could not pinpoint it
His heart fell to the bottom of his feet after he heard these words of rejection once again. But as he had been told earlier, these were his father's orders and he knew Ping too well to disobey them.
Clinton signed.
"Not just yet. There is one more little task that you need to accomplish. But I assure you that you are closer to getting what you want." He assured
He brought out the card from his pockets with a slight bow before he turned around towards him and said.
Clinton recognized the card almost instantly. It was a purple card and this card held nothing less than 50 billion Dollars. That was the first reward that he was going to get from his family.
While his eyes remained far apart with shocks, Uncle Ping didn't seem to be impressed that much.
"The Dragon's family has always been known to be cruel." He whispered to himself.
"This card holds fifty billion dollars." He began with a soft sigh and Clinton gasped when he heard these words. Was this the figure that his Uncle just associated with a group of people being Cruel and stingy?
Clinton thought that he had heard wrong. Or maybe his poverty training has changed a whole lot of perspectives for him.
"Young master. That amount might be little but I promise that there is already a surprise coming in for you. However, it's not properly set out yet so I am afraid that you would have to wait for a few more days." There was a sorry look on his face as he spoke.
"Don't worry Uncle Ping. This is more than enough already."
As much as they wanted to speed the evening together, he already knew that it would be time for him to leave.
"And before I leave Young master. The family wants you to get a fiance." Uncle Ping informed them before he left.
"And they want you to get it as soon as possible." There was a sense of rising urgency to his voice as he spoke and he was finally off.
Knowing that Clinton could not see his face anymore, he sighed deeply and there was a sad look on his face.
"Clinton, I really wished that we could catch up more but I am just trying to buy you time before they come for your own life." Ping whispered to himself and with these words, he was off already.
Clinton's heart was split almost instantly.. How was he going to get someone to like him so fast?
His mind subconsciousness drew out a list of people for him. But he had never thought of these people as someone that he would have to date. The only person... There is no need to even think about it. He scraped the thoughts off his head.
Clinton stared at the card in his hands and he smiled clutching on it firmly. He had already passed a test once. This meant nothing and he was sure he would be able to do it once again.
Thinking about girls, his mind traveled to someone. Lisa. The girl that had always helped him out.
They meant on the street with her little brother and they would pick trash together to resell until they eventually became a family.
Clinton still goes there when he is free from classes. But this time, he wasn't going to eat her meal, but get her the best meal in the city.
The thoughts of it alone were enough to make a broad smile hover way above his face as he thought about this.
The cars that buzzed to and fro the place were classic and the people that were stormed off showed that this place was somewhere that he didn't belong.
Clinton ignored the gazes of the people who were piercing at him from behind and continued to walk towards the table.
A girl that had already gotten her order wasn't looking properly and they accidentally bumped into each other, hitting her head almost instantly.
Her pale skin flushed red with the fury that boiled in her looking at how poorly the young man was dressed.
"Have you gone mad?" She growled in all her spite.
It was difficult to believe that someone like this would walk into such a place in the first place.
"Please, I'm sorry." Clinton apologized even though the fault was from both of them.
"Sorry? Do you think that's going to get my dress fixed and get me back my meal?" She grunted her teeth angrily.
The commotion between them had already brought about one of the waiters who were working in the place.
Just a single glance at Clinton and his poor dress made the disdain swell on her.
What would someone of that caliber be doing there in the first place? However, because there were a lot of customers streaming into the place, she could not tell him publicly.
Though her astonishment knew no bounds, she had to keep herself down and she inquired calmly with a failed attempt to hide her disdain.
"Do you have a membership card, sir?" She inquired.
"No, I don't," Clinton replied calmly.
"You don't even have a membership card and you dare to walk into such a high-end place? Do you think that this is a regular restaurant that slums like you can just visit and walk out of?" She snorted angrily.
Clinton ignored her statement.
With her phone making a buzzing sound, she turned around towards the waiter. It looked like she had just received an urgent call and would have to leave immediately.
"Miss. Make sure that this bitch is punished severely and thrown out." She flared before finally walking away.
"But I can purchase one," Clinton added now that he would be given enough space to speak.
The waiter could not bear the burden of saying any more words. She led him over to the receptionist's table and inquired.
"Card or Transfer?" She said lightly.
There was a line of people who were already frowning because they had been bypassed so that this person would be attended to.
"Card?" Clinton with a monosyllabic snort brought the card from his pockets and handed it over to her.
It was sleek and it suddenly caused ripples down her skin almost instantly...She was fast to look at it but her demeanor fell almost in an instant.
"I meant card." She could not address this young man with the word say anymore.
"And you should be holding it right now?" Clinton's eyes farrowed.
The words instantly tore out the frown that she had been trying to conceal as she could not stand it anymore and she sneered.
"You call this piece of metal crap a card? Do I look like a joke to you?" She flushed angrily, flinging it off angrily to the floor while the others peeked at it with disdain.

e court was so silent that even the sound of a pin dropping could be heard. The ministers looked at Xiao Ming, each with their own thoughts. After a while, Emperor Xiao Wenxuan looked at Xiao Ming and asked, “Prince Qi, is this cannon matter true?”Xiao Ming replied, “Father Emperor, the cannon is real. However, I simply changed the name of the fire tube. The cannon looks similar to the fire tube, but its range has been increased.”“I see.”Xiao Wenxuan nodded. Xiao Ming did not hide the matter of the cannon, which made him feel reassured. At this point, Cui Hao said, “Since that’s the case, Your Highness should hand over the cannon technology. Whether it’s a fire tube or a cannon, as long as it can defeat the barbarians, Your Highness should contribute it for the sake of the Great Yu Empire.”With just a few words, the topic in court shifted from rewarding achievements to demanding the cannon technology. This shift in focus was exactly what Cui Hao and his faction intended. They were

“Hahaha…”Loud laughter echoed in the Chengqing Hall. The King of Wei was all smiles; today, Xiao Ming unexpectedly gave him some face.He pulled Xiao Ming aside and said, “Dear nephew, this great victory in Cangzhou—you are the main hero. But your royal uncle provided a lot of money, food, and supplies, so I deserve some credit too. On the court later, you should go easy on me.”“Third Royal Uncle, this time our father ordered us both to defend Qingzhou. So this credit should belong to both of us. I won’t fight over the merit, but later you must fully support me in return.”“Oh? Go ahead, tell me what you want,” the King of Wei was delighted—if Xiao Ming needed his help, things would be much easier.Xiao Ming smiled mysteriously. “With your wisdom, Uncle, you’ll understand soon enough.”As they were speaking, Feng Deshui suddenly walked into the hall and loudly announced: “His Majesty has arrived!”All the ministers quickly returned to their places and stood straight. Golden sunlight blanketed the palace buildings, and the early morning palace seemed to radiate a strong aura of auspiciousness.Luo Quan’s words made Xiao Ming nod slightly. He wasn’t agreeing to give the cannons to the imperial guards, but he did agree with Luo Quan’s distrust of the vassal lords. This was exactly what a loyal general should say and a reason that made Luo Quan worth winning over.“This cannon production technology—I will give it to no one,” Xiao Ming answered Luo Quan with a firm tone.“Your Highness… this…” Luo Quan looked confused, even slightly angry. It was understandable if Xiao Ming didn’t want to give it to other vassal lords, but to refuse even the imperial guards, who were directly under the emperor—this he couldn’t understand.Lu Fei, standing behind, let out a big sigh of relief. He had truly been worried Xiao Ming might agree too easily. Luo Xin seemed deep in thought.Luo Quan’s reaction was just as Xiao Ming had expected. Once he said this in court, the

A round red sun had just risen over the horizon when the sound of bells suddenly rang out in Chang’an City. After three rounds of bell chimes, the gatekeepers in the city gradually opened the gates of each residential ward. People began appearing on the morning streets, and thin wisps of cooking smoke slowly floated into the sky.Yesterday afternoon, Xiao Ming had stayed at the Jade Water Pavilion until the palace gates were about to close, and only then did Consort Zhen reluctantly let him leave. In Chang’an City, Feng Deshui had already prepared a temporary, elegant courtyard for Xiao Ming to stay in.After seven days of tiring travel, he was already very exhausted. After returning last night, he slept straight through until now.“Your Highness, it’s time for breakfast. In a little while, you’ll probably be summoned to court.”After washing up, Lü Luo brought in breakfast. Autumn had arrived. The elm trees on both sides of Vermilion Bird Avenue shed their leaves as the breeze gently passed.Triggered by the splendor of Chang’an, Lu Fei said with envy, “When will Qingzhou ever be as prosperous as this place?”“That’s tough. Chang’an has been the capital of seven dynasties. Its prosperity is inherited,” Luo Xin replied proudly.“Nonsense! Prosperity isn’t like having children—it can’t just be passed down. Hmph, as long as His Highness is in Qingzhou, it won’t take many years before we surpass Chang’an,” Lu Fei retorted.Luo Xin curled his lip, clearly unconvinced.Xiao Ming smiled. Actually, Luo Xin had a point. The prosperity of Chang’an came from the concentration of all the nobility and powerful people of Great Yu.In modern economic terms, it was high consumption driving Chang’an’s economy and prosperity.Right now, his strategy in Qingzhou—to attract merchants—served the same purpose. While the group was traveling halfway along the route, the sudden
