"Young master, you don't have to suffer again. It's all over." The elderly man announced, trying to hide his watery eyes.

He recognized their family butler that had served as a father figure to him right after the death of his parents and his heart was flooded with a mix of emotions.

Clinton's face was flushed. The constant hardship that was weighing his shoulders almost made him forget his identity as the super heir of the Dragon West Group.

The group that had been rumored to pull down a nation in the past. But how come their heir live such a life?

Seven years ago, right after the death of his biological parents, he was sent away from the city in the east to start a new life. Something that was called a poverty program.

If he was able to complete the program alive, he would be able to gain wealth that was beyond the wildest imagination.

"I wish that I had been able to help, however, there was nothing that I could do." He said.

Clinton nodded his head. He had done more than enough already. He would never break the family rule.

However, he had seen the way that Rosa had always longed for the position of the queen and wanted to help her.

He had not only gone out of his way to seek help, he had even dragged someone else into it. Blinded by his love, he didn't even think about the consequences of his actions. What if he had been caught?

Clinton's hands were clenched. He quickly pushed the thoughts off from his head. There was no need to think about her now since it was already all over.

He walked forward and hugged the old man tightly, his eyes were filled with the emotions that were trying to surge out but his wit was able to withhold them.

"I have missed you a lot!" Clinton said parting slowly.

"You have grown into a fine young man. I am sure that your parents would be more than proud if they get to see you again." Uncle ping's smile dried out at the end of it, knowing that he had said something that was totally wrong out of his excitement..

The death Of Clinton's pretends carried a lot of miseries. One that he should not know about at the moment.

He drew a really deep breath, rather for the next question that was going to come after him with closed eyes.

"Are you going to tell me about my parents now?" Clinton inquired with a long face that made him smile.

"I'm sorry."

Right from the first day, Clinton could tell that there was something wrong about his parents death but he could not pinpoint it

His heart fell to the bottom of his feet after he heard these words of rejection once again. But as he had been told earlier, these were his father's orders and he knew Ping too well to disobey them.

Clinton signed.

"Not just yet. There is one more little task that you need to accomplish. But I assure you that you are closer to getting what you want." He assured

He brought out the card from his pockets with a slight bow before he turned around towards him and said.

Clinton recognized the card almost instantly. It was a purple card and this card held nothing less than 50 billion Dollars. That was the first reward that he was going to get from his family.

While his eyes remained far apart with shocks, Uncle Ping didn't seem to be impressed that much.

"The Dragon's family has always been known to be cruel." He whispered to himself.

"This card holds fifty billion dollars." He began with a soft sigh and Clinton gasped when he heard these words. Was this the figure that his Uncle just associated with a group of people being Cruel and stingy?

Clinton thought that he had heard wrong. Or maybe his poverty training has changed a whole lot of perspectives for him.

"Young master. That amount might be little but I promise that there is already a surprise coming in for you. However, it's not properly set out yet so I am afraid that you would have to wait for a few more days." There was a sorry look on his face as he spoke.

"Don't worry Uncle Ping. This is more than enough already."

As much as they wanted to speed the evening together, he already knew that it would be time for him to leave.

"And before I leave Young master. The family wants you to get a fiance." Uncle Ping informed them before he left.

"And they want you to get it as soon as possible." There was a sense of rising urgency to his voice as he spoke and he was finally off.

Knowing that Clinton could not see his face anymore, he sighed deeply and there was a sad look on his face.

"Clinton, I really wished that we could catch up more but I am just trying to buy you time before they come for your own life." Ping whispered to himself and with these words, he was off already.

Clinton's heart was split almost instantly.. How was he going to get someone to like him so fast?

His mind subconsciousness drew out a list of people for him. But he had never thought of these people as someone that he would have to date. The only person... There is no need to even think about it. He scraped the thoughts off his head.

Clinton stared at the card in his hands and he smiled clutching on it firmly. He had already passed a test once. This meant nothing and he was sure he would be able to do it once again.

Thinking about girls, his mind traveled to someone. Lisa. The girl that had always helped him out.

They meant on the street with her little brother and they would pick trash together to resell until they eventually became a family.

Clinton still goes there when he is free from classes. But this time, he wasn't going to eat her meal, but get her the best meal in the city.

The thoughts of it alone were enough to make a broad smile hover way above his face as he thought about this.

The cars that buzzed to and fro the place were classic and the people that were stormed off showed that this place was somewhere that he didn't belong.

Clinton ignored the gazes of the people who were piercing at him from behind and continued to walk towards the table.

A girl that had already gotten her order wasn't looking properly and they accidentally bumped into each other, hitting her head almost instantly.

Her pale skin flushed red with the fury that boiled in her looking at how poorly the young man was dressed.

"Have you gone mad?" She growled in all her spite.

It was difficult to believe that someone like this would walk into such a place in the first place.

"Please, I'm sorry." Clinton apologized even though the fault was from both of them.

"Sorry? Do you think that's going to get my dress fixed and get me back my meal?" She grunted her teeth angrily.

The commotion between them had already brought about one of the waiters who were working in the place.

Just a single glance at Clinton and his poor dress made the disdain swell on her.

What would someone of that caliber be doing there in the first place? However, because there were a lot of customers streaming into the place, she could not tell him publicly.

Though her astonishment knew no bounds, she had to keep herself down and she inquired calmly with a failed attempt to hide her disdain.

"Do you have a membership card, sir?" She inquired.

"No, I don't," Clinton replied calmly.

"You don't even have a membership card and you dare to walk into such a high-end place? Do you think that this is a regular restaurant that slums like you can just visit and walk out of?" She snorted angrily.

Clinton ignored her statement.

With her phone making a buzzing sound, she turned around towards the waiter. It looked like she had just received an urgent call and would have to leave immediately.

"Miss. Make sure that this bitch is punished severely and thrown out." She flared before finally walking away.

"But I can purchase one," Clinton added now that he would be given enough space to speak.

The waiter could not bear the burden of saying any more words. She led him over to the receptionist's table and inquired.

"Card or Transfer?" She said lightly.

There was a line of people who were already frowning because they had been bypassed so that this person would be attended to.

"Card?" Clinton with a monosyllabic snort brought the card from his pockets and handed it over to her.

It was sleek and it suddenly caused ripples down her skin almost instantly...She was fast to look at it but her demeanor fell almost in an instant.

"I meant card." She could not address this young man with the word say anymore.

"And you should be holding it right now?" Clinton's eyes farrowed.

The words instantly tore out the frown that she had been trying to conceal as she could not stand it anymore and she sneered.

"You call this piece of metal crap a card? Do I look like a joke to you?" She flushed angrily, flinging it off angrily to the floor while the others peeked at it with disdain.

After the Qingming Festival, a continuous drizzle turned the streets and alleys of Qingzhou into muddy quagmires.Having spent these days traveling outside, Xiao Ming was thoroughly fed up with trudging through ankle-deep mud. He thought to himself that if they could hold Cangzhou, he would definitely build several cement roads crisscrossing Qingzhou upon his return, while also revamping the city’s drainage system. After all, infrastructure was one of the essential projects for developing his fiefdom. Moreover, creating a superior living environment could attract merchants from across the Great Yu Empire to settle in Qingzhou.By then, selling land—ah, the legendary land finance—would become a reality.Rainy days were inevitably dull. With the Armaments Department having completed Luo Xin’s plate armor, Xiao Ming summoned him over, intending to ask him a few things while he was at it.“Your Highness, the plate armor is ready so soon?”This set of armor was naturally meant to placate L

The tea on the table exuded a faint fragrance, and the room was silent.Luo Quan stared at Fei Ji for a long time before speaking. “With His Majesty’s wisdom, how could he not see the current state of the empire? If so, why not send the imperial guards to Qingzhou?”“General Luo, if it were that simple, His Majesty wouldn’t be so furious. The King of Zhao wants nothing more than to divert disaster eastward. If the imperial guards mobilize, the barbarians will surely attack the fiefdoms of the Kings of Yong, Zhao, and Liang to contain them. Do you think they would agree? If His Majesty insists and provokes the barbarians, those kings need only deliberately let the barbarians through to threaten Chang’an directly. Thus, the imperial guards cannot move. The best outcome now is for the King of Wei to assist the Prince of Qi in holding Qingzhou. After all, the King of Wei is powerful among the vassal kings. If he commits fully, defending Cangzhou shouldn’t be a problem.”“But the King of W

Unlike other powerful clans that dominated regions, the Fei family had maintained an unbroken presence in the imperial court through multiple dynasties, their cultural heritage far surpassing ordinary noble houses. As a result, the noble families of the Great Yu Empire considered it an honor to marry a Fei daughter. Such a union elevated their status, allowing their descendants to hold their heads higher in official circles. In a realm where aristocratic influence ran deep, bloodlines mattered immensely. A cool breeze rustled through the treetops.Luo Xin glanced at Lu Fei, who showed no reaction to the poem he had just recited. Luo Xin sighed inwardly. Born into a military family for generations, yet I’m no match for a man of humble origins, he thought with some bitterness.Lu Fei, on the other hand, was confused by Luo Xin’s intense gaze. He had only understood the general meaning of the poem and hadn’t felt the same deep emotion as Luo Xin.“You’re not leaving?” Xiao Ming asked with a smile. These days, he’d been training military scribes to boost morale in the army and found himself speaking more like a political instructor than a prince.“I only wish to be a general defending the borders,” Luo Xin said seriously. “But as for Captain Lu, I can’t forgive him.”Lu Fei rolled his eyes.Luo Xin added, “Unless Your Highness gives me a full set of plate armor so I can fight him fairly.”Xiao Ming sighed in frustration.
