Chapter 3: Unexpected order

Evelyn scoffed. “Let’s see then,” she muttered and walked away.

“What insolent!” Ann was not only shocked but also disappointed. Derek just said the impossibility. How were they supposed to find ten million worth of order within a week. They all knew how poor Derek was. “How could you be incorrigible?” she huffed and hurried after Evelyn with the hope of apologizing to her. Getting Amelia to marry Zayn would help her a lot anyways. She might not have to worry about money for the rest of her lives.

Amelia felt a stab of annoyance at what Derek had said. “Why will you say that? Why will you complicate matters?” Her voice was cold and harsh. She felt angrier because Derek had promised to do something that was very impossible. Derek had always been so annoying but she just had the last straw of it.

“Amelia, calm down and listen to me,” Derek said softly and tried to hold her hands but Amelia jerked his hands away. “I don’t want you to be bother about it. I will solve the problem,” he assured.

Amelia sneered, the anger boiling in her could bring down the whole building and she didn't even hesitated to reveal it. “I think it is better you stay out of this. The earlier you start, the better for you,” She muttered and walked out of the hall.

Ethan laughed in mocking of Derek as he walked past him.

.

It was late in the night and everyone was asleep but Derek couldn’t sleep. He was thinking about the money he saw that afternoon. He knew that it could only mean something. His phone rang suddenly. He picked it up. “Hello.”

“Hello young master,” a deep and old voice boomed suddenly.

Derek sat up, recognizing the voice. It was Fred.

“Hello Fred, why are you calling at this time of the night?”

“I have a good news for you, young master. The trial has finally ended and you passed. Now, you can use all the money that your family have,” he revealed.

Derek released a sigh. “Did you send the 10 million?”

“Yes, young master. Your father has already willed all his properties to you before he died. This last trial was the only thing you needed to do before everything would eventually be yours. And fortunately, you passed and now, it’s time to claim what is yours,” he explained.

Derek smiled. He felt a surge of happiness. Who would have thought that his sufferings would soon end?

He remembered five years ago, when he was forced to leave home with nothing as small as a pin. He was so angry that day. The reason why his father had to make him go through something like that was something he was still yet to understand.

Derek actually came from a respectable home. Infact, his family was ranked as the number one richest man in Orange-Park. The Miller’s family had a multimillionaire companies to their names. They were not only wealthy, they were very influential.

Derek’s father trained him in all aspects of life and eventually, his last trial was to become a son-in-law. He was supposed to know what it felt to be looked down upon, to be humiliated. This was why he had to be with Amelia Johnson.

"What is your first order, young master?" Fred said suddenly, pulling Derek out of his thought.

Derek took a deep breath, as if thinking about it. "I want you to do something for me," he said suddenly. "I want Aircastle limited to give a 10million order to my wife's company tomorrow," he ordered.

"Consider it done, young master. When are you coming home?"

Derek thought for a moment."Soon, I will get back to you concerning it," he assured and hung up.

.

Amelia got up early that morning and left the house even before Derek would wake up.

Though, she knew it was going to be very difficult but she decided to go to Acxiom corporation for an invest. She wanted to find a way to get the ten million worth of order. Even if she wouldn't be able to get all, she could get a little and beg her grandmother to accept it from her. She seriously didn't want to marry anyone else.

Amelia waited at the gate of Acxiom corporation, looking out for the president. Since she had no appointments, the secretary would not let her meet with him. So, she had to meet with him before he would enter the company.

The sun was so high in the sky but Amelia didn't mind.

A black car drove in suddenly. Realizing who it was, Amelia rushed forward.

The door of the car opened and Zayn got down. Amelia was pulled to a sudden stop and the smile that has curled up on her face suddenly changed to a dark frown at the sight of him.

Zayn regarded her for a moment with a taunt smile. "I knew you were going to come," he laughed.

The other door opened and the president of the company got out as well but Amelia couldn't move closer to him now as Zayn was moving closer to her.

"What is a beautiful girl like you doing in this hot sun?" He said and stroked Amelia's hair slightly.

Amelia slapped his hand away. "Get your hand off me!" She yelled.

Zayn chuckled. "Actually, I knew you would have the audacity to show yourself here because I'm a good friend of the president," he revealed in mocking tone.

Amelia's eyes went wide with shock. She didn't know. If she had, she wouldn't have come.

"But if you agree to marry me now," his eyes sparked with excitement. "I will help you get the contract right now."

Amelia felt a stab of annoyance at his words. "Back off!" She warned.

"I could let you get everything you want. Then your worthless company would never go bankrupt," he muttered.

Fine! Amelia had had enough. She didn't think it deep before she slapped him across the face.

"What insolent!" She yelled in anger. "Do you think you will always get what you want because you have the money? Keep hallucinating! Keep daydreaming because it will never happen!"

Zayn got angry. "Seriously? But I'm waiting, Amelia. A day would come when you will beg me on the bed for a contract. I will make sure that happens!" He threatened.

Amelia was more furious. She even thought of slapping some sense into him, again when her phone rang.

It was an unknown number, so Amelia didn't know who it was but she picked it up anyways.

The president had already entered the building and Zayn was already backing away when Amelia suddenly yelled. "Aircastle limited is going to give me a big order?"
