Chapter 010
Karion’s POV “Well, it’s only natural for someone like you to think something like that when am dressed like this” once again, I gestured towards my gown “but you really shouldn’t judge someone you know nothing about just by their looks you know” I added hoping he would probably listen, but let’s me be honest with myself, from the way he has been talking, guys like him doesn’t even give people like me a chance. He looked at me the way someone would look at a stain on an expensive rug, something that shouldn’t be there in the first place. “Oh, so your preaching now?” He said while letting out a small scoff “I shouldn’t judge people by looks alone huh? Should I tell you how stupid that saying of yours is? If I were to call someone here to evaluate our bank accounts just by looks, and the person decided to take your stupid saying and pick you as the more wealthy man between the both of us and me as the less wealthy, even with how your looking and how am looking, do you see how stupid your saying sounds now?” he said, he’s voice going higher and higher, like he wanted the whole store to hear him tearing me down piece by piece. And when I thought people were starring before, now they weren’t even trying to hide it, some of them had even stopped pretending to browse through the racks of clothes, just standing there watching the scene unfold like it was some kind of free entertainment. “Well, who knows it might just be true” I said, even though from his balance and mine I knew it was true, but I don’t wanna sound too prideful, I mean I literally just got this a few hours ago, and still not 100% sure if the card works, so bragging about something I haven’t fully confirmed myself felt a little too early. “you even have the audacity to act smug huh , you think this is funny don’t you, well am glad you’ve had your fun, it was already a big enough insult that a nobody like you walked in here, pretending to buy clothes, and it’s even a bigger slap in the face that you think in your entire lifetime you can be more wealthy than me? Do you know who I am? My type of status and wealth would change your entire life” he said, the pride in his voice rising with every word, like each sentence was pulling him higher onto some invisible throne only he could see. Change my entire life? For just a balance of 321,930 dollars, didn’t he think saying all this was a little too much? I know he’s part of those people who brags about how they have millions and all, but common at least he should have some common sense, because if that was supposed to be a threat, it was a pretty weak one. I let out a small scoff and shaked my head in disbelief, “is that so? And your still working as a manager here?” I said with a small smirk on my face, because if he really had all that wealth he jus boasted about, he wouldn’t be standing in a store yelling at a customer over clothing. Then he’s face immediately dropped, like he wasn’t playing around anymore, like something in what I said had actually landed somewhere it wasn’t supposed to. Then I heard the sound of footsteps approaching me from my back, quick and deliberate, more than one pair, I turned my head briefly to see that it was security, two of them, both built like they didn’t get hired for their customer service skills, I frowned a bit, so the security he called actually came? “Mr D, is there a problem here?” one of the guys said, his eyes flicking between me and the manager like he was trying to figure out who he was supposed to be intimidating first. “Yes, a very filthy one” the manager replied while looking at me, his lips curling like he’d already decided how this was going to end “this man right here, obviously released from a psychiatric hospital, walked in here to steal” he said, his voice loud enough that I was sure even the staff by the register had heard him. His words hit me with absolute surprise, my brows raising up immediately “steal? Why would you say something like that” I said, because out of everything I expected him to accuse me of, this wasn’t even close to the top of the list. “I cought up to your little trick a few minutes ago, you come in here, deceiving us all that you want to buy something, and when you get a chance alone with the outfit, you take off the tag, and find a way to walk out of here with the clothes, am sure your not here alone, where’s your accomplice” he said looking towards the door like he would find the solution called person I was working with, scanning the entrance like he actually expected some shady figure to bolt the moment his eyes landed on them. Hearing all this made me let out a small laugh, some people really loved lying and deception, this whole world is full of people like that, and this man standing in front of me acting all high and mighty was proof enough of that. “Now, our best customers would soon be here, and I wouldn’t want them seeing a trash like you in a place like this, so gentlemen, throw this man out” the manager said and the guards began approaching me before I could even say a word, their hands already reaching towards my arms like I was some kind of criminal caught red handed. “if you just allow me to buy something here, would that prove to you that am not here to steal” I said, keeping my voice calm even though the guards were now close enough that I could feel their shadows over me. He started at me for a few seconds, like he was actually rethinking it, his eyes narrowing slightly like he was trying to find the trick hidden somewhere in my offer, then he paused and said “fine, I’ll like to see your payment get declined anyway, it gives me more joy when am throwing you out, just remember you caused this embarrassment on yourself” he said, already smiling like he’d won something. Before I could reply, he’s attention suddenly moved towards the door, his expression changing immediately, his face almost turning pale as his eyes widened, the same confidence that had been dripping from his voice a second ago completely gone, like someone had just yanked the ground from underneath him. “fuck, their here” he said and before I could even respond he already began moving passed me, shoving past the guards who were still holding onto my arms, his whole posture shifting from arrogant manager to someone scrambling to save face. Out of curiosity I slowly turned to see who he was talking about, probably it was the special guest that he said was on their way here, the one he’d been so eager to protect from the sight of me only a moment ago. That’s what made his face turn pale right now?, that alone made me curious enough to turn and take a look As I turned my eyes immediately landed on the two figures who walked into the store, both moving with the kind of ease that told you they belonged wherever they went, like the world just naturally made room for them. My brows frowned as I stared at the two familiar figures, people I thought I wasn’t going to see for a while again, people I definitely wasn’t ready to run into, not here, not like this. Chapter 013Karion's POVThe blood in my mouth had already gathered up enough, so I collected it and spat it onto the floor, watching the manager's expression twist even further into disgust, his lips curling like he'd just watched something crawl out from under a rock. I did that on purpose, just to aggravate him a little more, to remind him that whatever composure he thought he'd stripped from me was still very much intact."That's what happens when trash like you tries to step out of line," jubril said, his voice carrying just enough volume to make sure the people still lingering around us heard it clearly, like he wanted an audience for this. The smirk on my face slowly faded. Alright, I was done taking all this from him. Even if I wasn't fully recovered, I could still push myself a little, at least enough to give him a black eye he'd have to explain to people for weeks, something to remind him this wasn't as one sided as he thought. The firm grip the guards had on me had loosened

Chapter 012Karion’s POV“Hold on, I’d like a word with him,” jubril’s voice said, stopping the guards before they began dragging me out, the sudden authority in his tone enough to make even the manager freeze mid step.“Sir, are you sure? I mean he’s not worth you wasting your time and energy on, he’s a nobody,” the manager said quickly, his eyes darting between me and jubril like he was trying to gauge whether he should still be siding against me.Jubril completely ignored the manager and took a step forward, his presence somehow filling up more of the room than it had a right to.“Why the hostile behavior kay?” Jubril said, calling me by my nickname like we were suddenly friends again “When I first saw you from over there, I thought I might have been seeing double, but I’ve known you too long not to recognize how your hair is, and that dragon tattoo at the back of your neck sealed the nail in the coffin. And when I came to holla at you, you grab me by my suit? Do you realize how ex

Chapter 11Karion's POVFuck.Out of every possible Louis Vuitton store they could have shown up in, it just had to be this particular one at this particular time.I should have probably just listened to the manager when he told me to leave. If I had, I wouldn't be standing here about to run into them again. It's not even like I can turn my back and blend in with the other customers, what am wearing makes me stand out the most in the entire store, so it was only a matter of time before they spotted me anyway. They both walked in feeling proud, feeling like the whole world existed just to make way for them, their steps slow and unhurried like the ground itself owed them something. Watching jubril carry himself like that made me sick to my guts, because the man he's become right now, the rich, almighty man he's parading around as, only exists because of me.A small realization crept up on me then, after he told his guys to kill me, I don't think he actually knew that I survived. Chapter 009Karion’s POV“Global infinite black card has now been delivered to host.” The notification appeared on the system interface directly in front of me.For a few seconds, I simply stared at it.Delivered? That was it?Nothing happened. No flash of light, no mysterious portal opening beside me.No delivery man suddenly appearing out of nowhere holding a package, judging from the system anime I once watched, something like that is supposed to happen, isn’t it?I frowned while looking around. If that wasn’t going to work then how exactly was this supposed to work?I never entered my address, the system didn’t even ask where I lived. So how was it supposed to deliver anything to me?I let out a small disappointed sigh. For a second there, I had honestly thought I finally had a way to access the ridiculous amount of money sitting in my account.Looks like I got my hopes up too early.Shaking my head, I prepared to stand up from the bench.Since nothing happened, th

Chapter 008 Karion’s POV “Sir, are you sure you don’t want to stay longer? Wait for a family or friend to come get you?” the doctor asked as we both walked down the reception area. Family or friend? Right now, I had none of that. I was completely on my own and if there was one thing I knew for sure, it was that I needed to figure out a path forward as soon as possible. “I’ll manage,” the words left my mouth barely above a whisper. The doctor nodded, but I could tell he wasn’t exactly concerned about me. Honestly, I knew he was only asking because he knew I could pay my bills now, If it were up to me, I would have preferred staying. My entire body still hurt like hell, i could barely walk properly, every step sent pain shooting through my ribs and legs. I couldn’t even maintain a straight posture without feeling like my bones were grinding against each other. Medically speaking, walking out of the hospital right now was probably a terrible idea. Especially considering I di
