Chapter 009

Karion’s POV

“Global infinite black card has now been delivered to host.” The notification appeared on the system interface directly in front of me.

For a few seconds, I simply stared at it.

Delivered? That was it?

Nothing happened.

No flash of light, no mysterious portal opening beside me.

No delivery man suddenly appearing out of nowhere holding a package, judging from the system anime I once watched, something like that is supposed to happen, isn’t it?

I frowned while looking around.

If that wasn’t going to work then how exactly was this supposed to work?

I never entered my address, the system didn’t even ask where I lived.

So how was it supposed to deliver anything to me?

I let out a small disappointed sigh.

For a second there, I had honestly thought I finally had a way to access the ridiculous amount of money sitting in my account.

Looks like I got my hopes up too early.

Shaking my head, I prepared to stand up from the bench.

Since nothing happened, there was no point waiting around.

But just as I pushed myself up slightly, I suddenly felt something pressing against the side of my hospital gown.

My movement immediately stopped.

I frowned, what was that?

The object felt stiff, almost rectangular.

My hand moved toward the side pocket.

To be honest, I didn’t even realize these hospital gowns had pockets.

Slowly, I slid my hand inside.

The moment my fingers touched the object, my heart skipped a beat, I grabbed it and pulled it out.

The second it appeared in front of me, confusion instantly filled my face.

A black card.

A completely pitch-black card rested in my hand.

I stared at it, the card looked elegant, Simple, yet somehow incredibly expensive.

Almost instinctively, I closed my eyes for several seconds.

The moment I opened them again, the system interface disappeared from my vision.

Now I could focus entirely on the card, I turned it over slowly, How did this get here?

One second ago there was nothing, now there was a card sitting inside my pocket, A pocket I didn’t even know existed.

The card felt cold and solid against my fingers, not fake, i rotated it from side to side, there was a golden chip embedded near the front, just like a regular bank card, yet something felt different, there was no bank name, no company logo, no account information nothing, just a sleek black surface.

My brows furrowed.

Did somebody accidentally leave their card inside the hospital gown before it was given to me?

Normally that would’ve been my first thought, But after everything that had happened today, normal explanations were becoming harder and harder to believe, especially after watching a system literally place half a trillion dollars into my account.

I raised the card higher, the sunlight reflected softly across its surface, tilted it multiple times, then I finally noticed something.

There, near the bottom, barely visible was my name.

Karion Kross.

The letters were engraved directly into the card, the engraving was black on black, making it difficult to notice unless viewed from the right angle but it was there.

A second later, a small scoff escaped my mouth, I shook my head in disbelief, Would you look at that.

Every single time I started convincing myself I was losing my mind, this system found a new way to prove it was real.

I didn’t even realize my mouth had fallen slightly open, what exactly was this thing capable of?

Was spawning objects all it could do? Could this card really be used anywhere? Anytime? Just like the system claimed?

My thoughts suddenly paused.

Wait, What if only I could see it? Just like the system interface.

The card felt real but so did the interface sometimes.

I needed confirmation, immediately.

Without wasting another second, I tossed the card onto the ground in front of a man walking nearby.

The card landed directly in his path.

The man stopped, looked down Then looked at me.

His expression instantly became strange, Almost like he was wondering whether I had escaped from the hospital’s psychiatric ward.

A few seconds later, he simply shook his head and continued walking.

My eyes widened slightly, that reaction was all the proof I needed.

He saw it, The card wasn’t invisible, it was physical, my heartbeat accelerated.

Slowly, I bent down and picked it back up, even now, I was still finding it difficult to believe, if this card was truly connected to the balance displayed by the system…

Then more than half my problems had already been solved, Maybe sixty percent.

Either way, this changed everything, I had already proven the money was real, The hospital confirmed that, now there was only one thing left to test, the card itself.

I looked down at my hospital gown, immediately, the answer became obvious….. Clothes, I needed clothes.

Not this embarrassing hospital outfit, my eyes swept across the street, and then I saw it.

Louis Vuitton.

The large store stood proudly among the surrounding buildings.

Even from a distance, it looked expensive.

My throat tightened slightly, I had never entered a Louis Vuitton store before.

People like me usually admired stores like that from the outside, maybe this was finally my chance.

Without giving myself time to overthink it, I began walking.

Each step still hurt, my injuries hadn’t magically disappeared, my muscles still screamed in protest, but strangely enough, my mind barely registered the pain anymore.

Excitement had taken over, for the first time since waking up in the hospital, I felt hopeful.

After several minutes, I finally reached the entrance, standing before the massive glass doors, I took a deep breath, this was a big deal, not exactly how I imagined my first visit would happen, most people probably didn’t walk into Louis Vuitton dressed like escaped patients.

But honestly? I couldn’t care less right now.

The doors opened, I stepped inside and immediately felt overwhelmed, the place looked incredible, luxury practically radiated from every corner, Customers moved throughout the store while employees assisted them.

The lighting was perfect, my eyes moved from one section to another, some of these designs looked amazing.

As I slowly walked deeper inside, I noticed movement from the corner of my eye.

Someone was approaching me, a well dressed man, professional looking, though there was something about his expression that immediately rubbed me the wrong way.

“Hello?” he called out from several feet away.

I stopped walking and turned toward him, instantly, the balance above his head appeared.

Balance: 321,930.00 USD

My eyes lingered on it briefly.

For someone with that amount of money, he was probably a manager, or at least someone important here

“What are you doing in here? Who let you in here?” he asked.

The rude tone caught me completely off guard.

I blinked.

“Good day. I came to get some clothes. This isn’t really nice moving around in,” I said while gesturing toward the hospital gown.

“Security!” the man suddenly shouted.

I stared at him, what? Why was he calling security? Had I done something wrong?

“Look, I don’t know who you are or what you think you’re doing here, but you need to leave. My customers are already getting uncomfortable from the look of you alone.”

His words made me frown.

“I get that I don’t look pleasing, which is exactly why I came to get some clothes.”

“Is this some kind of prank?” he asked. “Are there hidden cameras around here somewhere? Are people recording? Are you some broke influencer trying to get TikTok views? Because that nonsense doesn’t work here. This isn’t your average store, okay? You know the name. So get out before security comes and throws you out.”

I raised my brows in shock Views? Influencer? What was this guy even talking about?

Was this genuinely how he treated anyone who didn’t meet his appearance standards?

“This is my first time here, okay? I’d really just like to get what I came here for.”

“Oh, so this is your first time here?” he said mockingly. “Well, didn’t you hear what I said? This isn’t your average store. The thrift store isn’t too far away from here. You can go there and get whatever you want.”

I stared at him, the arrogance in his voice was unbelievable.

“Are you assuming I can’t buy clothes here?”

The man laughed, a short, dismissive laugh “It’s not assuming.”

His eyes slowly traveled from my hospital gown to my flip-flops, then back to my face.

“It’s the truth. A male underwear here costs almost two thousand dollars, and from what I’m looking at, you’re not even worth two hundred dollars.”

Chapter 15 Karion's POV [Quest objective complete] KROESUS System notification: Congratulations, host Karion Kross. Task one has been completed. You have officially leveled up to Level 2. Your reward has been added to your current balance. I read the notification off the digital screen floating in my vision, my eyes scrolling down almost instinctively to check my balance, and there it was, sitting plainly in front of me: 515,603,447,300.00 dollars. My eyebrow raised, genuinely caught off guard for a second. KROESUS had added over 10 billion dollars to my previous balance, just because I completed the task I was given? That wasn't remotely what I was expecting. Honestly, I hadn't expected any reward at all. I only completed the task because the consequences of failing sounded fatal enough that I wasn't willing to test them, and since I was cutting it close to the timer, the only realistic way to spend that much money in that little time was to buy something expensive. And at t

Chapter 14Jubril’s POVWater rushed down my head to my toe as I stayed silent in the shower for minutes, just staring down at the floor, lost in my own thoughts, hoping the hot shower might take away this unwanted worry am suddenly feeling, the kind of worry that had no business sitting on my shoulders in the first place. Those fucking idiots. I gave them one simple job, yet they still couldn’t get that done, I don’t even know why I haven’t fired them yet, because tell me how you fuck up something as simple as killing someone, it’s not that hard, just get the fucking job done and disappear, that was the whole point of paying people who were supposed to know what they were doing.I took in a deeper breath, trying to calm myself down, I shouldn’t be getting this worked up over a useless nobody, someone who used to matter to me but had long since become irrelevant. The only thing that’s getting me worried is the fact that he knows I tried to kill him, what if he went to the police and

Chapter 013Karion's POVThe blood in my mouth had already gathered up enough, so I collected it and spat it onto the floor, watching the manager's expression twist even further into disgust, his lips curling like he'd just watched something crawl out from under a rock. I did that on purpose, just to aggravate him a little more, to remind him that whatever composure he thought he'd stripped from me was still very much intact."That's what happens when trash like you tries to step out of line," jubril said, his voice carrying just enough volume to make sure the people still lingering around us heard it clearly, like he wanted an audience for this. The smirk on my face slowly faded. Alright, I was done taking all this from him. Even if I wasn't fully recovered, I could still push myself a little, at least enough to give him a black eye he'd have to explain to people for weeks, something to remind him this wasn't as one sided as he thought. The firm grip the guards had on me had loosened

Chapter 012Karion’s POV“Hold on, I’d like a word with him,” jubril’s voice said, stopping the guards before they began dragging me out, the sudden authority in his tone enough to make even the manager freeze mid step.“Sir, are you sure? I mean he’s not worth you wasting your time and energy on, he’s a nobody,” the manager said quickly, his eyes darting between me and jubril like he was trying to gauge whether he should still be siding against me.Jubril completely ignored the manager and took a step forward, his presence somehow filling up more of the room than it had a right to.“Why the hostile behavior kay?” Jubril said, calling me by my nickname like we were suddenly friends again “When I first saw you from over there, I thought I might have been seeing double, but I’ve known you too long not to recognize how your hair is, and that dragon tattoo at the back of your neck sealed the nail in the coffin. And when I came to holla at you, you grab me by my suit? Do you realize how ex

Chapter 11Karion's POVFuck.Out of every possible Louis Vuitton store they could have shown up in, it just had to be this particular one at this particular time.I should have probably just listened to the manager when he told me to leave. If I had, I wouldn't be standing here about to run into them again. It's not even like I can turn my back and blend in with the other customers, what am wearing makes me stand out the most in the entire store, so it was only a matter of time before they spotted me anyway. They both walked in feeling proud, feeling like the whole world existed just to make way for them, their steps slow and unhurried like the ground itself owed them something. Watching jubril carry himself like that made me sick to my guts, because the man he's become right now, the rich, almighty man he's parading around as, only exists because of me.A small realization crept up on me then, after he told his guys to kill me, I don't think he actually knew that I survived. Chapter 010Karion’s POV“Well, it’s only natural for someone like you to think something like that when am dressed like this” once again, I gestured towards my gown “but you really shouldn’t judge someone you know nothing about just by their looks you know” I added hoping he would probably listen, but let’s me be honest with myself, from the way he has been talking, guys like him doesn’t even give people like me a chance. He looked at me the way someone would look at a stain on an expensive rug, something that shouldn’t be there in the first place.“Oh, so your preaching now?” He said while letting out a small scoff “I shouldn’t judge people by looks alone huh? Should I tell you how stupid that saying of yours is? If I were to call someone here to evaluate our bank accounts just by looks, and the person decided to take your stupid saying and pick you as the more wealthy man between the both of us and me as the less wealthy, even with how your looking and how am looking, do you se
