"Jesse, I called to let you know that I won't be coming to work tomorrow. You can help me convey the information to the director."

Arthur heard Jesse chuckle at her own end and inquired further. "Ugh, did I say anything wrong? I'm just making an excuse for tomorrow.

"I'm serious. I'm just telling you so it won't look like I intentionally refused to come to work." Arthur replied to her and Jesse started laughing at him.

"Why are you laughing, Jesse?"

"You've got to be kidding me. You, the big boss, is making an excuse of absence from an employee like myself. Is it not funny?"

Arthur was silent for a while. Now he got the reason Jesse was laughing. As long as he was still working as a security guard, Jesse was his superior. It was only right that he let her know since he won't be available the next day.
