Chapter - 03

"You are what?" Georgie frowned when he heard Mathew.

"I said... I am her boyfriend," Mathew was not the rash type. But with Stacy on the line, Mathew did not back down as well.

Meanwhile, the other guy with Georgie, who filmed everything inside the restaurant, pulled out his phone. This was a spicy twist in drama, and he had to make sure that there was an audience for it.

"Hey... Why did it start again?"

"Are there more surprises?"

"Georgie now just wants to rub it on our face that he got the school beauty,"

"Who's the other guy?"

"He is wearing some sort of uniform. Does he work at the restaurant?"

"Listen, you..." Georgie was angry, "I don't know why you are doing this. But keep this up, and I will beat the shit out of you." Georgie threatened Mathew as openly as he could.

As soon as they heard Georgie, the comment section was flooded.

"I am not here to talk to you," Mathew did not flinch, "I am here to talk to my girlfriend."

"I am not your girlfriend anymore. I am breaking up with you," Stacy almost screamed when she had had enough of it. She tried to hide it all until the end, but Georgie still found it out. She could do nothing about it now.

"What?" Mathew was taken aback by Stacy's sudden proclamation. He could not believe she would break up with him just like that. And not just Mathew, Stacy's words took everyone by surprise, and the chat went into a frenzy this time.

"I can't believe she already had a boyfriend,"

"Poor Georgie. Without any fault, he is stuck between the two of them."

"What? Why? I don't understand. Weren't things going fine?" Mathew asked.

"Well, for you, maybe they were. But what about me?" Stacy looked at Mathew teary-eyed and asked, "Did you ever think what I was going through?"

"What do you mean?"

"Huh... You don't even know," Stacy scoffed, throwing her arms.

"Never mind. There is no us anymore, Mathew," Stacy said as she took a step back, avoiding Mathew.

"Enough... She has made herself clear. Now back off, dude," Georgie finally spoke up as he got between Mathew and Stacy and pushed Mathew back.

"Don't touch me," Mathew flung Georgie's arm in annoyance and said, "I am not talking to you. It's between me and my girlfriend."

"Ex-girlfriend," Georgie said and pushed Mathew even further, "Now don't be a child whining for a toy. Just leave."

"I said get your hands off me," Having enough of Georgie added to the heart-piercing words of Stacy, Mathew finally lost it. He grabbed Georgie by his arm and twisted it.

"Ahh... Leave me, you asshole,"

But that was not enough for Mathew. He was angry. Angry at Stacy for leaving him. Angry at Georgie for taking his girlfriend away. But more than that, he was angry at himself.

He worked painstakingly without getting any sleep just to save enough money to get to college. But here was this bastard with tons and tons of money, playing around all day. Yet, he gets to be the nice guy, while his efforts are neglected and thrown aside. How could this be fair? Why were his parents not rich? If he was rich, would Stacy have chosen Georgie over him?

Suddenly Mathew found no meaning in his life. Now all he wanted to do was vent out all his bottled emotions, and Georgie was the unfortunate one to bear it all.

So while Georgie crouched, groaning in pain, Mathew punched him right in his face.

Georgie was rich, but he was hardly any strong. He even made the basketball team because of connections. So with just one punch on his nose, Georgie was on the ground.

"Aaahhh..." This scared the shit out of Stacy. She took a step away from Georgie and Mathew.

But Mathew hardly cared now. He jumped on Georgie on the ground and sat on top of him. Now without allowing Georgie to resist, Mathew started hitting him left and right.

"Omg... Someone save Georgie..."

"You dolt... What are you doing recording the video? Help him,"

"I know that guy. Isn't he Mathew from our school?"

"That guy who hardly spoke?"

"Nah... That can't be him. He is so handsome. And handsome guys won't do something so brutish."

"He just had his girlfriend leave him for someone else..."

Meanwhile, the boy holding the phone finally woke up from the shock. Looking at the crazy Mathew, he was too scared to jump in and save Georgie. So, instead of helping him, the boy made a run inside the restaurant to get some help.

"You are breaking up with me just because I missed your call once?" Mathew spoke without even looking up at Stacy, "What a joke... Then what about the numerous times I was at your beck and call? Running in the rain to fetch you another packet of pads because you did not use the brand I bought you? Huh..." Mathew smirked. Just one act of kindness made Stacy change her mind? You got to be joking.

"Since kindness is not what you are looking for, it must be his money," Mathew stopped for a while as he panted for air and looked at Georgie, "Aren't you a lucky rich brat?" Mathew said and slapped Georgie straight across his face.

"No more... Let me go," Georgie weakly called out. He was about to lose consciousness, "I... I didn't know..."

"Well, that's true..." After slapping Georgie a couple more times, Mathew stopped.

"It's all because of this money-grovelling bitch."

"Don't... Don't come any closer, Mathew," Stacy took a few steps back.

"Why... Weren't we really close before?" Mathew was like a crazy man. He only had one dream, and Stacy shattered it in an instant. For him, his world fell apart.

At that moment, the boy who went out to get help returned. With him was the manager, along with other staff of the restaurant, Barry included.

"Help... Help... He is trying to harm me," Stacy cried out hurriedly.

"Matt enough... What do you think you are doin'?" Barry called out to Mathew as he and others grabbed Mathew.

"Let me go... I will kill that bitch,"

"Snap out of it, man," Barry was anxious, "You had already done enough." He, along with others, tried to pull Mathew away from there.

"IT'S NOT OVER. IT'S NOT OVER, YOU CHEATING BITCH. I WILL DESTROY YOU."

And everything fell into silence.
