Chapter 05 - To Face a Witch

Richard’s - [P.O.V]

 

I finally arrived at the hospital with my clothes soaked in his blood as the nurses hurried out to take Midsee inside while I followed closely behind.

 

"The patient is still breathing, so what caused this bleeding?" The doctor inquired but my trembling lips couldn’t form a response.

 

"Take a deep breath okay, I understand your panic but I need to know how he was injured." the doctor insisted as I nodded trying to steady my breath as he gently held my hand.

 

"I think he was mistakenly hit with a whip." I said as the doctor looked in my eyes.

 

"That isn't a mistake Sir.... He had another cut marks around his body too... Was he beaten? I will have to call the police." The doctor added.

 

"Please Doctor... There was a conflict at home and my mother Inlaw was displeased with a video he recorded so she decided that beat him. 

 

"I can't believe she would even do that to him." I said to the doctor as I held his arm.

 

"Then she musts be arrested because this child has losts so much blood... He might not survive this but we will do our bests." The doctor adds as I swoll in pain and shock.

 

"No! He has to survive, how much will it costs?" I asked as he exhaled in frustration.

 

"We will need to perform artillery surgery to repair the damaged veins and stitch the wounds, so it would costs $150,000 dollars only, we can manage the bleeding, but without payment our hospital policy refuses such especially in this kind of circumstances, so the earlier the better." The doctor added.

 

I didn't want to use my Ultimatum Card because that would leak my identity, they had to be a way to pay them... Oh Yes... Before I got arrested years ago, I had left that amount at home in a safe board hidden in the parlour.

 

"I have the money at home, please keep her alive, I would be back." I said as I turned to leave only to see Mr. Bennet who grabbed me into a tight hug causing me tears.

 

"Son! Your face is everywhere outside, they are accusing you of being an abusive husband who aside murdering his firsts daughter, has returned to kidnap his son and it is now believed that the son too has been hospitalized... I know this is madam Spoisens and Mr. Geralds doing, I am afraid you would be in danger again." He tells me.

 

"What? They're blackmailing me, after all they did to me, to Mina, to my grandma?" I asked.

 

"Gerald swore after you left that he will make break you like a cube of sugar, that man is dangerous and he comes from the Usher family, they're extremely evil, I fear we need to attack before we get ambushed." She adds as I looked at my him in sorrow.

 

"But he slept with my wife on my matrimonial bed and I feel Marisa is being brainwashed, I feel deep down that my wife still loves me!" I said to Mr. Bennet who pointed at my forehead.

 

"Have you gotten insane? Did you forget so fasts that she had already signed the divorce papers in your pocket!?" He rolled his old eyes.

 

"Did you forget her words!?" He added.

 

"What she did to you? She slept with a man on your bed! Enjoyed the abomination while you stayed locked up in prison!" He added as he placed the papers over my chests.

 

"Or have you forgetten that Midsee is dying because she sucks as a mother? The only brain-washed person here is you, ever since you left your father's house to love this woman, she has done nothing but diminish you into a slave! You're aren't my flesh and blood, but wake up!" He said as boiling tears fell off his eyes.

 

"Papa! I would muster the pain, what I need is money for Midsee's surgery treatment, they're too many cameras too." I said as he caresses my ring over my finger in return.

 

I knew his exact thoughts.

 

"I would return home, I promise." I added.

 

"Young master, what do you intend to do concerning your son now? And how about Mina, you haven't spoken of visiting her grave." Mr. Bennet reminded me and it hurt me.

 

"Gosh! I will find time..." I said in hurt.

 

"Sorry young master, how about I pay the bills instead, I do not advise you to suffer over this… It's Justs $150k…" Mr. Bennet said and I laughed.

 

"Look behind you... We are being watched, I don't want to make any mistakes now.” I said.

 

“I need them to think I am vulnerable, ensure you arrange for Madam Spoisens Men... They need to be punished for what they did to my grandmother and the doctor requested for $150,000, hence I have it hidden in the parlour at my wife's current private home, I need to get it for Midsee, no matter the costs." I said with a smile to him.

 

"Now the police might be in search of me but I need to bring that cash, even though it would mean for me to fight the guards to get in." I replied, watching in shock and relief as I turned to leave, only for Mr. Bennet to cover my head in a black silk head cover to disguise myself since I will be going on a secret mission.

 

“Richard…” Mr. Bennet called at me.

 

"Prepare, After here… I need to sleep badly, and inform the FBI… I might need their services if I fall into harm's way." I said as I dashed out of the hospital heading back for the mansion, it was merely 24hrs gone and a lot had happened, I needed to be fasts to pick my family back up.

 

Our family house wasn't legally mine, it belonged to my wife, and Yes! At this point you can tell she comes from a rich family and is a spoilt brat!

 

No wonder She is Called Marisa!

How I even still loved her with all these things she did worried me too or maybe I didn't again.

 

Soon I reached the mansion.

 

To avoid drawing attention to myself, I had no choice but to scale the fence and sneak into the mansion, creeping into the parlor just how a thief would.

 

A thief in my own damn house! ~ How hilarious.

 

Well, scratch that... My wife’s house... How foolish of me?

 

I controlled my movements carefully as I lifted the TV wardrobe to see if the money was still there, but it was gone, plus even the savings box too had disappeared.

 

“Gham!” My heart raced in fear... Does this mean I’ll have to break my cover? The weight of the decision felt like a part of me shattered. Do I use the card or not? I need to save my child.

 

“Richard! What are you doing here?!” Marisa’s voice pierced the silence behind me. My heart skipped a beat as I turned to face her, the Queen of my ongoing nemesis.
