Chaos

Reality bent slightly around Rin, continuing to bend until it stretched across meters, then kilometers. Various phenomena occurred elsewhere as objects moved before falling back down, while cracks appeared in the space around people, leading into the dark void beyond.

It was chaos in Tania.

At least, according to normal people, it was only happening in Tania, but not for certain individuals.

The hooded young boy who had been secretly following Rin stood on a rooftop, observing the surroundings in astonishment as more and more cracks kept opening.

The man in the trench coat appeared beside him, frowning.

"Someone is obtaining the recognition of a Neph. One of the foundations of the universe is offering itself to someone."

The young boy nodded.

"Mine also caused quite a commotion before I obtained it, but this one... it's far more powerful than anything I've ever seen."

The strength a Neph would possess could be recognized by the disorder it caused to the reality it governed. It was even said that a stronger Neph could destroy reality before it was ever obtained or controlled.

"Try to find the one obtaining it, but do nothing to interfere, or we'll all regret it," the man said to the young boy, who nodded before disappearing.

The man then raised his hand, trying to close the cracks opening here and there.

The young boy reappeared in the distance and glanced far away.

He sighed. The chaos was existential, affecting not only Tania, nor only Earth, but extending even farther into other space-times.

The influence of a Neph was not to be underestimated.

As long as it's not a villain who gets this Neph, we're fine... he thought as he continued on his way.

---

The number of cracks continued increasing throughout the entire world, followed by an enormous and utterly superhuman force descending upon the universe, forcing everyone to stop. No one knew whether time itself had stopped, but everything had frozen. Even other space-times had now come to a standstill.

Only those possessing a Neph could still move.

Inside a restaurant in Tania, around ten men wearing trench coats stood up, looked around, exchanged glances, nodded, and disappeared.

Inside a shop, four men looked at one another, smiled, and disappeared.

Inside a police station, several people, both men and women, cast glances far away, beyond the universe itself, before closing their eyes, lowering their heads, looking at each other, and nodding.

In a dark alley, the shadows shifted as an old man appeared out of nowhere.

The very same one who had made a deal with Rin.

He raised his gaze upward before vanishing, only to reappear within the existence of space-time itself.

He swept his gaze across the entirety of space-time, searching for the source of the anomaly, yet found nothing.

Still nothing.

An astonished expression appeared on his face.

---

Similar events were happening with many people all across the world.

Inside Rin's house, Rin's mother suddenly rose from her bed and glanced around. Despite remaining inside her room and despite the walls, she could see everything happening throughout Tania, even events occurring in other countries. In the end, her gaze was drawn toward one particular room inside the house.

She suddenly frown, then stood up and walked toward a certain room.

Rin's room.

Inside the room at the end of the hallway, a dull noise rang out, followed by sounds at the door as though someone were violently touching it.

Meanwhile, countless distant gazes were cast from beyond the entirety of the physical world itself. No one knew to whom they belonged, nor what they wished to see, but after that, the cracks multiplied even further, bearing witness to the strength of those beings.

Reality itself was in danger of being destroyed.

---

Inside his room, Rin stared in confusion at everything happening.

He felt an immense force squeezing him as something slowly began to appear before him.

At first, it was imperceptible, without size, without a fixed position in the space before him, as though it existed everywhere and nowhere at once.

Then, all the chaos ceased, and everyone resumed moving normally, looking around in astonishment. The force weighing upon them had disappeared, and so had the cracks, which gradually vanished.

Meanwhile, the pen "Script Writer" was writing by itself, as though held by an invisible force or as though it had gained consciousness. The more it wrote, the more the destruction and chaos subsided.

The distant gazes all settled upon "Script Writer," then upon Rin, before a masculine voice echoed throughout the entire physical world, making everything tremble and bringing back the cracks that had just begun to disappear, forcing Script Writer to write even faster.

Everyone heard what that voice had just said.

"So... it's you."

That was all they heard.

The distant gazes withdrew, and Script Writer continued writing, sealing the cracks.

Script Writer paused before continuing to write.

Rin's mother, who had been walking toward his door, suddenly stopped.

She had forgotten everything that had just happened. She stared blankly at Rin's door, trying to remember why she had come, before quietly returning to her room, still looking thoughtful.

Suddenly, Charly's voice pulled Rin out of his daze.

[The Neph of History is now at your disposal.]

A pure blue stone now stood before Rin, who could only stare at it in astonishment.

  • A miracle

By observing and listening to their conversation, Rin understood the situation a little. The young woman was named Sharon, and the young man named Eric apparently wanted to be with her. Rin also realized something else. Sharon did not want him not because of the age difference, but mainly because of their social status. She was far beneath Eric. Rin had figured this out by paying attention to the changes in Sharon's expressions and gestures. His vision was so advanced that none of it escaped him, and he could even use those gestures and expressions to draw conclusions in an almost supernatural way. Logical. Eric was obviously from a noble family, and marriages between nobles and commoners always ended badly... at least in everything I've read, Rin thought. And judging by Sharon's reaction, that seemed to be the case here as well. Rin sighed as he thought, I liked my life on Earth much better. Here I can't even have fun or do whatever I want because of my situation. He looked at

She walked over to Rin and handed him the card. He looked at it and saw the words "Room 7" written on it.He glanced to his left, where several rooms were lined up, and nodded as he stood up.The young woman at the entrance hadn't explained that he would be entering private rooms to talk freely with clients. He had already figured that out by observing the rooms before she arrived. As he stood up, a man with black hair slicked back smiled mockingly as he whispered to another man beside him, who was reading newspapers. The latter also had black hair, with one part slicked back and another falling over the front."This kid wants to guide such a beautiful and noble woman right in front of you. You're just going to let it happen?"The man reading the newspapers gave a quick glance before smiling as if he wasn't affected by the provocation."As long as he can handle it, it's fine. I'm not here to compete with others."The man with the slicked-back hair fell silent, then looked around the r

Noticing Rin's strange behavior, the young girl asked, completely puzzled, "Are you okay?"Rin raised his head then said with a corner smile, "Yes, I just feel dizzy. A young boy with messy black hair and glasses approached when he saw them. The orange-haired young man said with a smile, "Richie! It's good to see you in the flesh." The young man with glasses named Richie smiled slightly before firmly shaking his head. "Rin, Stan! We need to talk, don't you think?" Rin asked in surprise, "About Marc and George?" Richie nodded. "Yeah, we got a call yesterday from their parents. They were really desperate." The orange-haired young man named Stan then said, "We actually came to see you to ask you something." "Oh? What? If it's about them, I don't know anything. I'm not the one who was supposed to be with them the day before yesterday," Richie said while looking at Rin with a puzzled expression. Stan explained what Rin had told him-that he hadn't been with them-before asking, "Where do you think they would've gone?" Stan thought for a few seconds before saying, "First, I don't know where they could be because at first they disagreed. Marc and G

  • An Abandoned house ?

Augustus University was the most famous university in the entire Kingdom of Velmora and was originally a place reserved only for noble and aristocratic children before it also began accepting commoners. However, even with that, the percentage of noble children was still higher-around 80% were nobles. After all, Khalthu'ra could not change everyone’s life, so not everyone could become nobles or aristocrats. There were still commoners, even if Tania still had more nobles and aristocrats than commoners and homeless people.Rin walked calmly, moving through the courtyard among several other students. He knew where he had to go: second floor, class 2A. That much he remembered at least.“Yo! Rin,” a male voice called out behind him, as a boy with orange hair wearing the same uniform walked toward him.Who is this guy? Rin wondered silently while keeping a smile on his face. The boy reached him and walked beside him, saying, “Damn, I suffered a lot this morning.”“How so?” Rin asked uncertai

  • The Magician's Club

Monday — 07:12 In Rue 31 stood the Magician Club, a place where people helped those with mental disorders, life problems, and similar issues… They were mostly conventional magicians, meaning those who had no Neph but were born with minor supernatural abilities. You don’t enter that place and come out unchanged. That was where Rin was heading. He had heard about this club through Charly, whom he had begged to give him more information about Tania. Going to the Magician Club was not a mission from Charly, but something he needed for future plans. He was wearing his university uniform, with his school bag. He opened the door and saw a young woman sitting at the entrance on the right, in front of several computers. The room was spacious, with other facilities and people cleaning. They had just opened. He approached the young woman, who lifted her head from her computer and looked at Rin in surprise before smiling warmly. “Good morning?” Rin looked around with a calm smile
