The Shadow Employer

Chapter Seven

"A" he shouted, as he used all his strength to break free.

Kael decided to use the device to break free from the energy field. He quickly worked his way through the device's systems, using his advanced hacking skills to override the energy field's controls.

As the energy field dissipated, Kael felt a surge of relief wash over him. He was finally free.

The employer and Aria were caught off guard by Kael's sudden escape. They stumbled backward, momentarily stunned.

Kael took advantage of the distraction to make a run for it. He sprinted out of the room, his heart pounding in his chest.

As he ran, Kael could hear the employer and Aria shouting behind him. They were hot on his heels, determined to catch him.

Kael knew he had to think fast if he was going to get away. He quickly scanned his surroundings, looking for a way to escape.

That's when he saw it - a ventilation shaft in the wall, partially hidden by a nearby console. Without hesitation, Kael sprinted towards the shaft and dove inside.

I'm a little step ahead of them.

Kael decided to keep moving through the ventilation shaft, trying to find a way out of the facility. He crawled through the narrow ductwork, his heart pounding in his chest.

As he moved through the shaft, Kael could hear the employer and Aria shouting and searching for him below. He knew he had to keep moving if he was going to get away.

The ventilation shaft twisted and turned, leading Kael through a maze of narrow ducts and vents. He had to squeeze through tight spaces and climb over obstacles, but he refused to give up.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Kael saw a glimmer of light up ahead. He crawled towards it, his heart racing with excitement.

As he emerged from the ventilation shaft, Kael found himself in a dimly lit alleyway. He was outside the facility, and he could see the city streets stretching out before him.

Kael took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He had made it out of the facility alive.

But as he looked around, Kael realized that he wasn't alone. A figure was standing in the shadows, watching him.

Kael decided to approach the mysterious figure and try to communicate with it. He walked cautiously towards the figure, his eyes scanning the surrounding area for any signs of danger.

As he approached, the figure stepped forward, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes and long, dark hair. She was dressed in a black leather jacket and jeans, and she looked like she meant business.

"Who are you?" Kael asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"My name is Lena," the woman replied, her voice low and husky. "I've been sent to extract you from the facility."

Kael's eyes narrowed. "Who sent you?" he asked.

Lena smiled, revealing a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Let's just say that I have friends in high places," she said. "Friends who are interested in helping you take down the employer and his organization."

Kael's mind was racing with questions and doubts. Who was Lena, really? And what did she want from him?
