A smirk appeared on Jasper's face seeing this. He had been itching to get his revenge on the two men, but he just couldn't go ahead and challenge them to a fight.

After all, it was going to affect his reputation too. So he acted like he didn't see them, but who would have thought that they would have the guts to surround him?

"Jasper, if you don't want to get beaten just like you were some hours ago, then tell me why the heck you are stalking me" Amelia had a smug smile on her face as she looked at Jasper.

"I came here to see the manager because I just bought the company. Why would I follow a headless chicken around?" Jasper narrowed his brows as he said with a serious expression.

"It would be better to follow a headless chicken around 'cause I know that when I catch it, I would be able to have a good meal, but what would I get if I stalked you?"

"How dare you insult my girlfriend, you are looking for death." The man by Amelia's side burst out into a rage after hearing what Jasper said.

"You should stop shouting. We are at a hotel. Do you think it would be nice if you woke up people who are sleeping?" Jasper turned to the man and said.

"It would be better if you kept your opinion to yourself and just got out of the way. Also, stop barking. You're hurting my ears."

"How dare you?" Both the man and Amelia flew into a rage after hearing what Jasper said.

"Hurry up and go do what you all have to do. Stop barking at me like some Stray Dog." Jasper waved his hands impatiently.

He was too lazy to argue with them and thus loaded them with a series of insults. Just as he had expected, they were unable to handle it and thus lost their cool, which was exactly what he wanted to achieve.

"Beat him up!" The man lost it all and commanded the men.

Instantly, the men moved towards Jasper, their eyes glinting. They had beaten him up once, so there was no way they were not going to be able to beat him up for the second time.

"You should step back, I don't want to get my hands stained." Jasper waved his hands.

Though he was talking like this, he was secretly excited and wanted to beat up the men in revenge for what they had done to him.

He was never going to let them off easily. They had to pay for their crimes.

The men didn't listen to Jasper and just sneered while walking towards him, a broad glint on their faces.

Just like the last time, immediately they got to Jasper, they stretched their hands forward wanting to grab him and then proceeded to beat him up, but this time it was different.

Jasper moved away nimbly from their grasp, evading the two men. Before they were able to process what happened, Jasper raised his legs and kicked.

"Bang!" The two men were sent flying due to Jasper's kick. It was as if they had been hit by a truck as their bodies felt heavy.

The onlookers who were watching screamed and moved away in panic, seeing the men fly towards them.

The two men stood up almost immediately and rushed back towards Jasper, this time with a more serious expression.

They didn't expect the latter to fight back; after all, they had considered him to be weak. But now, they didn't think of such and were going to have to suppress him.

Jasper had a smile on his face and met the two men head-on. This was a good way to test the new abilities he had just gained. It was a good thing that the men were willing to become scapegoats.

Grabbing the two men, Jasper proceeded to beat them up mercilessly. At first, he had wanted to fight them using some kind of martial arts skills, but he discovered that they knew nothing about skills and were purely relying on brute strength.

Thus, he gave up on this and directly beat them up. There was no need for anything.

After a while, Jasper felt the anger in his heart dissipate. Now, he no longer had any grudges with the two men and then turned to look at Amelia and her boyfriend.

At the moment, everywhere was silent and no one made a noise as they watched. They were afraid of making a noise and displeasing Jasper. This was going to cause him to turn to them, and who knew if the latter was aggressive enough, he was going to beat them all up?

"Don't come any closer....." Amelia stuttered, backing away in fear, her eyes almost bulging out of their sockets. she didn't know that Jasper was this strong, else she wouldn't have tried to antagonize him.

"Why shouldn't I come closer?" Jasper chuckled, looking at Amelia in amusement.

"Aren't you the one who wanted to talk to me?" Jasper had a broad smile on his face as he walked towards the two.

"Now, I want to talk." he added.

"You don't dare to take even a step forward." The man by Amelia's side sneered, his eyes radiating confidence.

"And why's that?" Jasper asked, a hint of amusement appearing on his face.

"Let me tell you, I'm friends with the manager of the hotel. This is a five-star hotel, and you've caused enough damage, so I can make the manager sue you, and you'll spend the rest of your life in prison," the man sneered.

"Really?" Jasper was suddenly interested.

"What do you know?" The man sneered.

"You're just a pauper, so what do you know?"

"I can make the manager come here by just giving him a call, and he'll arrest you straight away, so if you want to save your skin, back off." He threatened.

"Why don't you call him, and let's see what happens?" Jasper challenged, the smile on his face becoming wider.

"Did I just hear someone say they can make me come with just a phone call?" An arrogant voice sounded just as Jasper was about to continue teasing the man.

  • The system

The System completed its sweep quietly, feeding Jasper the results in fragments he could digest without noise. The hidden buyer was no ordinary operative. Not purely corporate, not purely political, but a careful mix of both. Jasper traced the patterns, the financial networks, the soft influence, the public-facing philanthropy. The man was a senior board member of a multinational tech conglomerate. His name rarely appeared in scandal. His face was clean in every photo, every press release. Privately, he held advisory roles, quietly lobbied politicians, and maintained access no law could strip away. Yet behind that public image, he financed destabilization, acquisitions, and manipulations. The mob boss had been muscle, disposable, nothing more.Jasper sat back against the cold wall of the cell, hands resting on his thighs. He didn’t speak. He didn’t need to. The System displayed the maps, the connections, the shadow accounts, all flowing into the same hidden network.A quiet alert foll

The failure of the prison raid rippled through the criminal underground faster than the mob boss could anticipate. Rumors traveled along encrypted channels, whispered by low-level operatives and repeated in hushed tones at safe houses. In those corridors, uncertainty bred panic. The strike squad’s disappearance was no accident. Someone stronger than expected was moving in the shadows—and worse, someone was watching.Jasper remained seated on the edge of his bunk, hands clasped loosely, eyes fixed on the gray wall across from him. The System continued its work in silence, parsing the fragmented communications flowing through proxy networks, filtering what was relevant and discarding the rest.A soft alert chimed.Intercepted Transmission Detected.Jasper didn’t flinch. • No noise

The holding facility sat quiet in the early hours of the night, the kind of quiet that felt manufactured. Lights hummed overhead, steady and white, washing the concrete corridors in sterile calm. Guards moved along their routes with routine precision, boots echoing softly, radios clipped and silent.Jasper remained unaware of any of it.His cell was narrow but clean. Concrete walls, steel bars, a single bunk bolted to the floor. He sat on the edge of it, elbows resting on his knees, head slightly lowered. The faint hum of electricity seeped through the walls. Somewhere far above, ventilation fans turned without urgency. He hadn’t slept.Custody had a way of stretching time. Minutes dragged. Zoey sat on the edge of her bed, hands clasped so tightly her fingers hurt. Her room was quiet. Too quiet. The door was shut. The curtains were half drawn.
