James reeked of alcohol, and it was clear that he was highly drunk.

Elion, unable to watch his sister being dragged that way and, worst of all, in a critical condition, rushed forward and yanked his stepfather's grip off his sister's hands; thereafter, he slammed his hands against the man's chest. Making James stumble backwards.

“You piece of shit...” James clutched his chest and coughed.

Tears began streaming down Elion's face as he shouted back at James, fury burning in his voice:

“She’s sick! Can’t you see? What’s wrong with you? If it’s about what you asked her to do that you are acting this cruel towards her, then I’ll do it. Just don’t hurt my sister!”

Elion spoke in pure rage, his voice thundered, but James, on the other hand, began to laugh darkly, his lips gradually coiling to a sneer before speaking:

“So you’ve grown, huh? You have the guts to stand against me, right? You know what? Leave my house. I want you to get your filthy self out of this house with your silly, lazy sister. Maybe meeting your mother in the hospital will shelter your disgusting selves. Fuck, I regret ever marrying that godforsaken woman.”

These words from James weren’t new to them anymore; they had heard words worse than that.

He and his sister had been chased out of the house countless times and had mostly spent the nights with their mother in the hospital.

James walked out the door, and before closing it, he turned and looked at Elion over his shoulder. “I would rather not come back and see you both in my house. If I do, I’ll kill you both myself, I swear.”

After speaking, he staggered out drunkenly and slammed the door shut behind him.

Elion hugged Clara softly, sobbing and staring into her questioning eyes as he spoke calmly:

“Don’t worry about James. He’s just drunk and doesn’t know what he’s doing most of the time.”

“You heard him. He said we should leave his house before he comes back.” Clara gazed up at Elion as she spoke weakly.

Elion nodded before replying. “Yes, I heard what he said… and we’re going to leave. All we have to do is meet Mom at the hospital, and she’ll talk to James as usual and convince him to let us back in.”

Elion gently carried his sister on his back and walked through the freezing streets until they reached the hospital. There, their mother Sophia lay on a sickbed, under medication.

At that moment, Clara’s condition wasn't worse than before. It was as though the cold had worked its magic on her during the journey.

The moment Sophia saw them, she immediately understood what had happened.

When they came closer, she welcomed them with a hug, and with a knowing and calm smile spreading across her face, she asked gently,

“Your father again?”

Elion cut his gaze away, fuming as he replied,

“Stop calling him my father. He’s just a stepdad and a drunkard, nothing more.”

“You have to accept the fact that he’s your father—stepdad or not,” Sophia sighed, her voice cracking with her condition.

“My biological father is dead, and that’s a fact,” Elion insisted, folding his arms and looking away, anger spreading across his face.

Sophia laughed softly.

“My brave soldier… Do you remember when you always wanted to follow in your father’s path, becoming a hunter like him?”

Those words caught his attention.

Elion turned his gaze back to his mother and replied in a calmer tone. “Yes, Mum, that's my everyday dream. I want to become a hunter so I can put an end to the shadow monsters from the shadow realm and also earn money from my job so I can take care of your hospital bill. We won't have to ever suffer again.”

Elion at this point doesn't know what he would do next. He had tried all he can, but the weapon he was meant to create wasn't working. He lifted his head and saw the creature already leaking in."Since this shit isn't working, and that shadow of mine isn't even responding, I guess I have to do it my own way..." Elion muttered. He then gazed at his wrist again and saw that the armor that was meant to protect his body kept falling off his skin.He then spotted a sharp wood close to him, and in the next instant, a thought ran into his mind: if he could use that wood and try to pierce through the creature's back, where the back round hole was, maybe perhaps he could kill it.Elion didn't waste any time after realizing this. He dashed toward where the wood was, then yanked it off from the ground. At this point, the creature's hands sprouted out countless spikes and began to shoot toward Elion. Elion tried his possible best to dodge. Some spikes hit him, but that didn't pierce into his skin

  • Your Amour

Elion was still trying to understand one thing: why didn't Jax sense what was currently happening and come to his aid, or could the creature also do something that would distract them? This thought didn't last long for Elion to think through when his eyes caught sight of the creature he had nearly run away from, transforming into another form. At first, the form he had transformed into was having extra hands, with a massive head looking more like a spider and at the same time looking like a human. But at the next moment, the form he was transforming to had long mandibles, his legs grew very tall, and his hands transformed into a single hand but very long. His skin was pale and white. This exact form of his is his real form, and in this form, it's said to have its powers at the peak, which meant if Elion didn't stand his ground, he could be defeated by the creature."Let's see how you try to stop me..." The creature dashed forward, his claws long, slicing through the air with intense s

  • I Will Be Your Eye

Elion sat, still trying to figure out how he would be able to fight the creature. He had one thing in mind: if he could just try and muster the strength hidden inside him, maybe perhaps he could have a chance of standing against whatever this thing was."I can help you stand against the creature. I will be your eyes, which means you will follow my instructions," Elion's shadow suggested.Elion didn't even have time to process what his shadow had said when he suddenly saw a sharp spike piece into his hand."Ahhh..." Elion shouted in pain as he fell to his knees."Shit..." His shadow's eyes widened after realizing what had hit his master. It was from the creature, and such spikes are meant to paralyze its target, which means Elion will lose control of his hands soon."That spike holds a dangerous toxin, we have to look for a way to get it out..." Elion's shadow panicked.Elion's shadow had seen the attack coming, but it was too late to push Elion from the way just like he always did. El

After Jax got hold of himself, he explained everything to Elsie and Elion, but the explanation wasn't making sense. He mentioned he had seen her while he was taking a walk, but he can't really tell where she had come from. And not only had she mentioned that she doesn't have a parent, neither a house to stay, but if so, how had she been surviving all this while? The thought was in sync between Elsie and Elion, trying to understand what Jax was saying."So you mean you had met the girl from nowhere when you were taking a walk...?" Elsie asked to confirm again."Yes I did, Queen Elsie..." Jax sighed. "I wish I could have a strong explanation to this but sadly, I don't..."While they were on this conversation, Elion's eyes were set on the little girl as she kept feasting on the food she was eating.Elion doesn't know why, but he felt an uneasiness around the child, as though there is something dark inside her, but he can't just prove it, and he doesn't want to conclude this phenomenon of

Jax pointed his sword in the direction of the creature, "What the hell are you..." His voice was very loud and echoing, but it seemed as if only he could hear himself."The sword bearer, the last descendant of the sword forger, you have a magnificent power you are yet to understand..." The voice sounded again; it was mixed with a female and male voice.Jax was terrified, but he is strong enough to not let something like this get into his head. He took in a deep breath and took another step forward, holding tight on the sheath of his sword. One thing that kept rumbling inside his mind was that exact thing the creature had just mentioned; he was trying to imagine what it actually was."What are you..." Jax was still pointing his sword directly at the creature before asking. The creature didn't say anything, the only thing that kept leaping out from its body was dark smoke and those glowing eyes of his."You know what is better, so you better do the right thing..."
