The hall remained frozen, the aftermath of violence still hanging thick in the air.
They were all so shocked by Connor’s wild strength. Conor glanced sideways at Olivia, his brows slightly furrowed. “Titan Group?” he asked casually. “Why does everyone look like the sky just fell?” Olivia stared at him, almost incredulous. “You really don’t know?” she said, lowering her voice. “Titan Group’s boss is Henry Parker. Years ago, he was the underground king of this entire city. Even now, no one dares to underestimate him.” She exhaled slowly, her fingers still trembling faintly. “If he wants someone gone… they disappear.” Conor blinked once. “Henry Parker…” he murmured. The name rolled off his tongue as if he were searching through distant memories. “…sounds familiar.” Olivia rolled her eyes instantly, irritation cutting through her fear. “Oh please,” she scoffed. “Now is not the time to pretend you know people like him.” But Conor had already drifted into thought. Henry Parker… Henry Parker… A faint image surfaced in his mind— A long table. Twelve gods seated. ‘His’ twelve gods. And behind them… Drivers standing in silence. One of them— Wasn’t his name Henry Parker? Conor’s lips twitched slightly. “…No way,” he muttered under his breath. Meanwhile— All eyes in the room slowly shifted toward Carl. Hope. Expectation. Desperation. Carl froze under their gaze. Damn it… he cursed inwardly. Why are they all looking at me now?! He forced a calm expression, straightening his suit as if nothing was wrong. “Ahem,” he cleared his throat, adopting a confident tone. “There’s no need to panic.” Ronan’s eyes lit up slightly. “Carl… you have a solution?” Carl nodded, as if everything was already under control. “As it happens,” he said smoothly, “DragonTech is planning a major move. Tomorrow, they’re hosting a high-level cooperation summit.” He paused deliberately, letting the words sink in. “This isn’t like the previous five-million-dollar investment,” he continued. “This is something much bigger. They’re looking for long-term partners.” The room stirred. “If we can reconnect with DragonTech,” Carl went on, his voice gaining confidence, “and attend this summit… then Titan Group won’t dare act rashly.” Emma’s eyes lit up. “That’s right! Titan Group may be powerful, but even they won’t easily offend DragonTech!” Carl nodded, seizing the moment. “My father has connections with DragonTech executives,” he added proudly. “I’ll contact him immediately and secure us an invitation.” Relief flooded the room. “That’s wonderful!” “As expected of the Norman family!” “Carl, we’re counting on you!” Carl allowed himself a modest smile, though inside— I just need to get out of here first… “I’ll go make arrangements right away,” he said, already turning toward the door. Ronan personally walked him out, his attitude completely transformed. “Good, good! I knew you were reliable!” he said warmly. “The Nelson family will remember this favor!” Carl nodded, suppressing the urge to rush, and left without another glance. Not a single person suspected him. Once the door closed— Ronan turned sharply. His expression changed instantly. Cold. Disgusted. His gaze landed on Olivia. “This is all your fault,” he snapped. “Stay in the house. Do not take a single step outside.” Olivia stiffened. “Grandfather—” “If Titan Group comes looking and you’re not here,” Ronan cut her off harshly, “the entire family will suffer!” Then his gaze shifted to Conor— Filled with open hostility. “As for him,” Ronan said coldly, “he must leave immediately.” Olivia’s brows furrowed. “What? No—” Conor simply shrugged, completely unbothered. “Alright,” he said lightly, then glanced at Olivia with a faint smile. “Don’t worry. I’ll take you away soon.” Olivia froze. Then her face flushed with embarrassment and anger. “Are you serious right now?” she snapped. “Do you think this is the time for jokes?!” Beside them, Lily clung tightly to both of them, her small hands gripping their clothes. “I don’t want Daddy to go…” she whimpered, her voice trembling. Ronan’s patience snapped. “Enough!” he barked. “Get him out of here!” But Lily shook her head stubbornly, tears welling in her eyes. “No! Daddy stays!” The room fell into an awkward silence. Conor looked down at her, his expression softening slightly. Then he raised his head and looked directly at Ronan. “What would it take,” he asked calmly, “for me to stay with my daughter?” Ronan let out a cold laugh. “You?” he sneered. “You think you have the right to negotiate here?” He lifted his chin arrogantly. “Fine. If you can produce an invitation to tomorrow’s DragonTech summit—then you can stay.” Mockery dripped from every word. “Otherwise,” he added sharply, “get out.” A pause. Then— Conor nodded lightly. “Why not?” Ronan blinked. Olivia stared at him. “What are you—” But Conor had already taken out his phone. He dialed. The line connected almost instantly. “Nick,” Conor said calmly, “get me an invitation to DragonTech’s summit. For the Nelson family.” On the other end— No hesitation. “Yes, King.” The call ended. Simple. Direct. Ronan stared at him for a second— Then burst into laughter. “Hah! Hahaha!” he waved his hand dismissively. “Still acting? Do you think anyone here believes you?” Olivia stepped closer, lowering her voice urgently. “Conor, stop,” she said. “This won’t work. My grandfather won’t be fooled by this kind of act.” But before he could reply— Her phone rang. She froze. “…Hello?” Her expression changed as she listened. “Yes… this is Olivia Nelson.” A pause. Her eyes widened. “What…?” The entire room went silent again. “Yes… I understand… thank you…” She slowly lowered the phone. Then looked up. At everyone. Her voice… slightly unsteady. “That was DragonTech’s liaison,” she said. A beat. “They’ve… formally invited me to attend the summit tomorrow.” Gasps filled the room. “And…” Olivia swallowed. “They’ve already sent the electronic invitation.”Latest Chapter

Carl, on the other hand—Was smiling. But there was no warmth in it.“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” Ronan snapped, his voice low but filled with fury. “Throwing yourself at a man in public like that? Have you completely forgotten your place?”Olivia’s expression tightened.“It wasn’t like that—”“Then what was it?” Ronan cut in harshly. “Celebrating? Over what? Embarrassing yourself in front of everyone?”Emma crossed her arms, her lips curling slightly.“Honestly, Olivia,” she said lightly, “you could at least try to maintain some dignity.”Carl chuckled softly.“Now, now,” he said, his tone dripping with mock amusement. “Let’s not be too hard on her.”He took a step closer, eyes narrowing slightly as he studied her.“Judging by that reaction…” he continued, a smirk forming, “you must have received some good news.”He tilted his head.“What is it? Did the Norman family secure the entry-level partnership?”Olivia looked at him.For a second—The earlier excitement faded. An

“P-Please…” he choked out. “Please, I have a family, I—” “Take him away.” No hesitation. No sympathy. The guards didn’t wait another second. “Move.” “No—wait! Please! I’m begging you—!” His voice echoed loudly as he was dragged through the crowd. “I’m sorry! I’m really sorry! Please—just one more chance—!” The doors shut behind him. And just like that— He was gone. Silence lingered for a moment. Then slowly— The tension broke. Whispers turned into conversations again, but this time filled with shock, not suspicion. “I can’t believe that just happened…” “That poor girl…” “He almost got away with it too…” Olivia stood there, unmoving. Then— She let out a long, shaky breath. “…it was just a scammer,” she whispered, more to herself than anyone else. Her shoulders, tight from fear and humiliation, finally loosened. The tears that had been threatening to fall didn’t come anymore. Relief washed over her instead. Cristina turned toward her. And for the first time—

Olivia froze. Thrown out? Here? In front of everyone? Her vision blurred slightly, tears gathering despite her effort to hold them back. “Conor…” she whispered. But Conor didn’t move. Didn’t argue. Didn’t explain. He just stood there— Looking at the man. And the temperature around him seemed to drop. The guards hesitated for a fraction of a second before stepping closer. “Sir, ma’am,” one of them said formally, “we’re going to have to ask you to—” “Hey.” A voice cut in. Low. Flat. Right behind the man. A hand landed lightly on his shoulder. Tap. The man’s face twisted instantly with irritation. He jerked his shoulder away as he turned. “Who the hell do you think you are?” he snapped. “How dare you touch me? Do you have any idea who I—” His words faltered. Because standing behind him— Was Nick. The annoyance on his face deepened, anger flaring again. “And you—” he started, clearly ready to lash out— Then he saw her. Cristina.

For a second—He genuinely thought he misheard.“…The Nelson family?” he asked slowly.Conor didn’t even look at him. “Mm.”Nick stared at him. Then looked back at the list. Then back at Conor.“…King,” he said carefully, “the Nelson family’s total assets are barely over ten million.”He tapped the screen lightly.“These people?” he said quietly. “Every single one is worth over five hundred million.”His voice dropped further.“If you place the Nelson family here… it won’t elevate them.”A pause.“It’ll crush them.”Too much attention.Too much pressure.Too many eyes. They wouldn’t survive it.Conor considered that for exactly one second. Then—He shrugged.“Fine.”Nick blinked again.“Then just add them as an entry-level partner,” Conor said casually. “Any cooperation from DragonTech is enough.”His tone was indifferent. As if discussing something trivial.“Give them a project, a contract… whatever,” he added. “Their value will multiply several times anyway.”Nick stared at him.The

“You…?” she said, clearly caught off guard. “Weren’t you on the same flight as us?”Nick paused for half a second.Just half—But for someone like him, that was already a mistake.Conor’s gaze flicked toward him, sharp and unreadable. He hadn’t wanted Nick here in the first place—and now this. His fingers shifted slightly in his pocket.A subtle signal.Handle it.Nick caught it instantly. His expression relaxed—just enough.“Yeah,” he said, letting out a small, awkward chuckle. “What a coincidence, right?”Olivia frowned slightly. “What are you doing here?”Nick scratched the back of his neck, deliberately playing the part.“Well… actually…” he hesitated, then lowered his voice a little, as if embarrassed. “I have a distant relative working at DragonTech.”Olivia’s eyes widened a fraction.Nick continued quickly, filling in the gap before she could question further.“Not anyone too high up,” he added modestly. “Just… enough to get me in. I figured I’d come and see the world a bit. Br

Even more confident than before. “Mr. Ronan Nelson,” he said calmly. Ronan immediately looked over. “Carl! Any news?” Carl nodded, adjusting his sleeves. “The Norman family has officially been listed as a potential partner of DragonTech.” Silence. Then— “What?!” Emma gasped. Ronan’s eyes widened. “Is that true?!” Carl smiled faintly. “Of course.” Relief flooded Ronan’s face. “Good… good! That’s excellent!” Emma shot a glance toward the entrance, her earlier frustration easing slightly. Carl continued, his tone casual—but deliberate. “As for that invitation…” he said, glancing lightly in the direction Conor had gone, “it was likely just luck.” Emma immediately nodded. “Exactly! That’s what I said!” Carl chuckled softly. “Getting through the door is one thing. Securing actual cooperation… is another.” He let that sink in. Ronan’s expression grew serious again. Yes. That was the key. Without real partnership— Titan Group would still be a threat
