As he tried to get up from bed, Shen Luo Xiang realized his body wouldn’t move at all.

“Damn it… what’s wrong with this body?” he muttered, attempting to examine himself.

A few seconds later—

“A damaged dantian… and three elemental roots?” Shen Luo Xiang was stunned by what he discovered.

Before he could make sense of the situation, the door to his room opened, and in walked a beautiful woman in her early forties.

“Xiang’er… you’re awake?” the woman exclaimed and rushed to embrace him tightly.

“Mother thought… mother thought I would never see you again, huhu...”

In the midst of his confusion, Shen Luo Xiang understood — his soul had entered someone else’s body. Though this was a stroke of fortune, the body was in terrible condition: a shattered dantian, and paralyzed nerves that prevented movement.

“My child… forgive me. I was away and couldn’t protect you…” cried Luo Lan, the mother of the body’s original owner.

Shen Luo Xiang was touched. He now resided in the body of her dead son. All he could do was return her embrace warmly.

“Mother… don’t worry. Xiang’er is fine.”

“I’m so glad, dear... Oh! Since you’ve just woken up, how about I make you some warm porridge?” Luo Lan asked cheerfully.

Shen Luo Xiang nodded silently. As soon as Luo Lan left, he began to inspect his Divine Soul.

“Tch... only a few percent of my soul remains. Still, it should be enough to heal this boy’s internal injuries. As for the dantian… I’ll deal with it later.”

With that, Shen Luo Xiang activated his Divine Soul to begin the healing process.

Swuuuuung!

His body trembled violently. Slowly but surely, the internal injuries started to mend. Minutes later, the body had completely recovered — except for the broken dantian.

“It worked…”

Not long after, Luo Lan returned with a bowl of hot porridge.

“Xi-Xiang’er! Y-you’re healed?!” she asked, stunned. She knew her son had been completely paralyzed.

“Uh… well…”

Shen Luo Xiang hesitated, then quickly came up with a simple excuse.

“An old man… appeared in a dream. He healed me without asking for anything in return. So…”

“I see… Thank the heavens.”

Though she seemed to accept the story, Luo Lan couldn’t shake the feeling that her son’s personality had changed drastically.

“By the way, mother… it seems like you’re suffering from poison,” Shen Luo Xiang suddenly blurted out, noticing abnormalities in Luo Lan’s body.

She froze, startled.

“H-how do you know that?”

Her expression gave away her shock — only her son knew about the poison in her system.

Shen Luo Xiang scratched the back of his head awkwardly, unsure how to respond without revealing his true identity.

“Never mind… maybe you’ve awakened some hidden talent after your recovery. Now get some rest, okay?”

“And don’t forget to eat the porridge your mother made.”

“Alright, mother...”

He let out a sigh of relief as she walked away.

Left alone, he ate the porridge heartily. Feeling bored — and annoyed at how weak the body was — Shen Luo Xiang decided to begin physical training by running laps around the house.

“Young master… you’re…”

One of the clan’s servants was shocked to see him running as if nothing had happened.

Shen Luo Xiang merely shrugged and continued his training.

Everyone in the Luo Clan stared in disbelief. They all knew Luo Xiang had been born with a broken dantian and couldn’t cultivate. With such a condition, wasn’t physical training a pointless effort?

“Are they not used to seeing this body do something as simple as running?” Shen Luo Xiang muttered, puzzled.

Suddenly, while mid-run, a cocky young man intentionally bumped into him.

Braaaak!

“Watch it, trash! Don’t you have eyes?!”

One of Shen Luo Xiang’s eyebrows twitched. As far as he knew, he was still within his own residence — running the same path as before.

“Oh sorry, maybe it’s your eyes that are blind,” Shen Luo Xiang retorted casually and continued running.

Infuriated, the young man — a member of the Han Clan — threw a stone at him. Even without looking, Shen Luo Xiang sensed the attack and dodged it with a slight shift of his body.

“Is this how you treat your host?” he asked, halting his training.

“Tch! Trash like you has no right to be compared with someone like me!” sneered Han Fei arrogantly.

Shen Luo Xiang’s gaze turned cold.

“In my entire life, no one has ever dared to call me trash… if you—”

But before he could finish:

“Hahaha! Trash! Useless weakling! You’ve always been garbage!”

Though this body was crippled, Shen Luo Xiang had countless life-and-death battles under his belt. Han Fei posed no threat.

Swuuuung!

As Shen Luo Xiang moved, a wave of killing intent erupted. Han Fei tried to react, but Shen Luo Xiang’s movements were unpredictable. Within moments, he had grabbed Han Fei’s collar.

Plaaaak! Plaaak! Plaaaak!

Slaps landed squarely on Han Fei’s face — fast and merciless. Onlookers were stunned at his speed and precision.

“Say that again…”

“Y-you cheated…!”

Plaaaak! Plaaaak! Plaaaak!

More slaps rained down until Han Fei’s face was swollen, red, and barely recognizable.

Satisfied, Shen Luo Xiang resumed his physical training. The entire clan stood frozen, speechless. They had never seen Luo Xiang fight back — let alone defeat Han Fei as if he were nothing but an ant.

Even Luo Lan, who had witnessed the whole scene, was moved. A proud smile formed on her beautiful face.

“If only that mistake seventeen years ago hadn’t happened… You would’ve surely become a genius among your peers,” she whispered softly to herself.
