2023-02-20 22:59:06Joe, Mike and Phill were returning back into the hospital with the food they bought. They were talking and making their way to Jeff 's room.
"I told you that this one is for Jeff . For goodness sake man, you ate a burger out there at the burger stand!" Joe reminded Mike.
Mike groaned and placed his hands inside his pocket. "I told you guys that I'm hungry. I had to carry JEFF on my back when he fell uncouncious. At least consider the strength that left me," He said and puffed out.
"Yeah we know you did all the work. I promise to get you something tomorrow. Right now the money we have left is for Jeff 's bill," Phill said to Mike.
The three roommates arrived outside Jeff 's room. They opened the door and met their friend sitting on the bed.
JEFF heard when the door came opened. He looked and saw his friends entering the room. "Hey! Look what we got," Joe announced, showing the nylon in his hand.
JEFF smiled and said, "Waw! You guys got me something." He stood up from the bed, putting on his shoe.
"Yeah we did. We bought you a burger. Saved it from Mike before he devoured it," Joe teased Mike, laughing at him.
Mike groaned at Joe and said, grabbing the nylon from him and walking up to Jeff , "I told you I was hungry. Don't mind him Jeff . Here you go."
"Thanks guys," JEFF appreciated and took the burger from Mike. He's about to bring it out and eat, but stopped.
Joe, Mike and Phill noticed and wondered what happened to him. "You okay bro?" Mike asked, placing his hand on Jeff 's shoulder.
JEFF looked up at his friends and gets emotional. He smiled and said, "I'm okay. You can have the burger Mike." He hands it back.
The guys are surprised with what he just did. "Why dude? We got the burger for you," Mike said, refusing it.
"I'm serious, take it. I actually don't feel like eating anything at the moment. You can have it Mike," JEFF insisted, placing the burger close to Mike.
Mike glanced at the burger then at Jeff . Joe and Phill looked at themselves and feel unhappy.
"Alright then,"Mike said, taking the burger from Jeff 's hand. But he doesn't open it to eat. JEFF hummed and looked down at his shoe to make sure he was wearing it right.
Mike turned back to look at Joe and Phill. The two guys had their eyes on him. Mike lifted the burger up to show them.
"Don't you dare," Joe warned, grabbing it from him immediately.
"Dude! He said he's not hungry!" Mike pointed out, trying to grab the burger back from Joe. But Joe refuses him.
Phill leaves both Mike and Joe's side and moved closer to Jeff . He sees JEFF sitting back on the bed to wearing his shoe properly.
Phill sighed and said, sitting beside Jeff , "Dude, we know you're hurt with what Ashley did, but that doesn't mean you're going to stop eating."
Phill navigated his eyes to Joe and Mike. He signalled Joe to come over with the burger. Joe immediately did so.
He handed the burger to Phill and stepped back. Phill took the burger and gave it to Jeff . "You have to eat this or else we'll blast you," Phill warned.
JEFF bursts into laughter and agreed to eat the burger. "Fine I'll eat it. But you guys shouldn't think that I refused it in the first place because of Ashley. I wasn't thinking about her," He said, making it clear to them.
"Alright then, if you say so. Just eat it," Phill said to Jeff .
JEFF took the burger out of the wrapper and started eating.
Seeing him eating, Mike hummed and said, "That's that. So when are we leaving this place? I can't stand the stench in this hospital."
Joe and Phill agreed with him on it. The smell of drugs and other things saluted their nostrils multiple times that they couldn't wait to leave.
"You guys wait, I'll go and pay the bill," Joe said, making his way to the door.
Jeff , who had a burger in his mouth, tried to call Joe back, but his friend had exited the room already.
He wanted to tell him that he had paid the bill, but he stopped and wondered how it'll sound telling them he has a mysterious account filled with billions.
JEFF decided to wait for him to return. "I can't tell them about this. I'm still surprised to know I have such in my account. I'll have to stay quiet for now till I understand what's going on exactly," JEFF reasoned.
He kept eating his burger until he felt full and handed the rest to Mike, who happily took the burger and ate.
"Thanks bro," Mike appreciated with his mouth full. Chewing the burger in his mouth.
Phill scoffed at him and faced Jeff . "Let's go meet Joe. From there we'll head back to the hostel," Phill suggested.
JEFF agreed and rose from the bed along with Phill. The three friends stepped out of the room and made their way to the hospital counter.
They haven't gotten even close to the counter when they saw Joe coming back.
"Oh! Here comes Joe. He's already back," Mike said, pointing at him.
JEFF looked and noticed how confused Joe was looking while coming. He wasn't the only one that noticed how his friend was acting.
"Why's Joe behaving like that?" Phill asked, walking towards him.
The three guys stopped and waited for Joe to get them. Joe arrived in front of them and is questioned by Mike.
"Dude, you kept looking back like you had seen a ghost. Any problem?" Mike asked.
JEFF stared at Joe, wondering what happened to him. He noticed Joe's eyes falling on him immediately.
Joe placed his hand on JEFF and asked, "Dude, did you pay the hospital bill yourself?"
When Joe asked JEFF that question, JEFF felt his heart skip. He looked at the others then back at Joe. Thinking of what to say.
