18. Drink Tells the Truth

"Mr. White, you look so excited. Are you still up to drinking tonight?" asked one of the invited guests, who was starting to worry about Mr. White.

The dark brown-haired man hadn't stopped drinking since. He served the people who wanted to toast him one by one and immediately drank up his glass of drink. In total, he drank more than ten glasses. He could have raised his glass together as a form of respect.

A few minutes later, everyone who toasted him noticed Mr. White's eyes were red and slowly dripping with tears.

"Mr. White is crying!" one of the guests exclaimed.

"Mr. White, what happened? Why are you crying all of a sudden? Is this the result of too much alcohol vapor getting into your eyes?" asked someone who was getting worried.

Mr White immediately threw himself onto a chair. His body went limp, and his face slowly turned red like a boiled crab.

Danny saw this and chuckled, "Ha ha, Mr. White, how long will you keep acting? Aren't you tired of pretending to be a great man? Why don't you tell them the truth now that you've been fired? Are you too afraid to bear the consequences of your dismissal to them? Are you afraid of being ostracized?"

Everyone turned to Danny. Some of them snorted in annoyance and said Danny was a troublemaker. Mr. White was no exception; he was surprised by Danny's statement. Why was what he said exactly the same as what Mr. Warner said?

'How does this loser know what's really going on?' Mr. White asked himself.

Sharon Bennet's suspicions were growing. Mr. White's attitude made it clear that he was under pressure. She questioned whether what a loser like Danny said was true.

But how did he know this? Is he a fortune teller? This was ridiculous; Miss Bennet didn't believe in anything unusual.

Dennis White's luck was gone. He could no longer enter upper-class circles. All he could do now was continue to pretend. But Danny, the son-in-law of a hitchhiker, had uncovered everything.

Dennis White, who was still semi-conscious, immediately stood up. He stepped up to Danny and looked at him angrily. "Do you think I was fired? Just because I was asked to come pick up my last paycheck doesn't mean you're a great person who made me lose my job. You are nothing but a useless loser, son-in-law!"

Danny laughed out loud after hearing this, "Mr. White, don't you realize that you've revealed the truth that you've been fired? You obviously heard me call, but you're trying to deny the truth."

At that moment, the invited guests were whispering. They were trying to guess what had just happened. All coincidence aside, the useless son-in-law had just called someone to give Mr. Warner orders to fire Mr. White. It didn't take long for that to happen.

If Danny had that power, they would surely be in danger now.

"What happened is so intertwined, it seems too wonderful to be called a mere coincidence, but who is Danny Raphael, other than the son-in-law who lives in the Huxley family home?"

Hearing the rumours about this incident, Anthony and Michelle immediately spoke up. They both shouted for no one to panic. "Calm down... calm down, don't think anything. This incident has nothing to do with the son-in-law who lives in our family. He doesn't have a good background in either family or education. He could not know Mr. Warner, let alone meet him."

"What my husband said is true. Now I want to ask you, how many of you have met Mr. Warner?" Michelle added.

None of the guests answered. Even Sharon Bennet shook her head.

"You're all great people, but you've never met Mr. Warner, let alone the loser in our family? So, it can be concluded that what happened just now was just a coincidence. Mr. White's dismissal is an internal Take Meals Out issue, nothing to do with Danny Raphael!" Michelle continued.

After listening to Michelle's statement, the guests felt relieved. They all agreed with Michelle's opinion.

Grandma glanced at Anthony and asked her youngest son to return the red wine gift Mr. White had given her. She had no intention of accepting a gift from that failed man.

"Dennis, you brought back your gift of wine. Grandma has given up alcohol to maintain her health!" Anthony handed over a 1945 bottle of Jeroboam of Château Mouton-Rothschild that cost over 100,000 dollars.

This time, Anthony no longer showed his respect for Dennis White. He even called him by his first name.

"No need to be shy. I'm giving this gift to Madame. If you don't intend to drink it, you can enjoy it," Dennis White said.

"Oh, our family is planning to cut down on alcohol consumption. Bring it back!" replied Anthony, placing the bottle in Dennis White's hand.

At that moment, Dennis thought about opening the bottle and inviting the guests to make a toast. But just as he was about to pour the wine into the guests' drinks, they all pushed their glasses away.

"Sorry, I've had enough to drink."

She pulled her glass away even when he tried to give Sharon Bennet a drink. "I drove my car here; if I drink, I'm afraid I'll get drunk and jeopardize my safety. I can't take it!"

Sharon Bennet pushed away Mr White's hand, which was about to pour the bottle's contents into her glass.

"Alright, then, I'll take your place to drink."

This time, Dennis White no longer poured the wine into the glass; he gulped it straight from the bottle, making the people there look disgustedly at him.

"We toast to the great Mrs. Huxley," Dennis White said, lifting the bottle and holding it up. Then he did it again, this time toasting the future of Take Meals Out, but no one paid him any mind.

Dennis White approached Danny, "If you will kneel down and apologize to me, then I will persuade Mr. Warner to accept you as a courier again!"

Danny chuckled, "Huh! Who needs your help? You better figure out how to live your life after this."

Dennis White took another sip of his wine and pointed an index finger at Danny, his lips trembling as if to say something. But before he could say anything, Dennis White fell to the floor, unconscious.
