19. Show Me Your Gift!

Seeing the unconscious Dennis White, the Huxley family was not happy. As with the other guests, none began to worry about what had happened to the former Take Meals Out operations manager.

Grandma glanced back at Anthony and asked him to do something. "Take care of him! I don't want anyone interrupting the fun at my party!"

Anthony Huxley nodded, immediately called two security guards, and asked them to care for Dennis. "Hurry up and get rid of this man! Don't let him ruin my mom's birthday party!" Anthony exclaimed haughtily.

The security guards nodded; they quickly grabbed Dennis by the arm and dragged him out of the room without mercy. At that moment, everyone in the room noticed them.

Some looked at Dennis with disgust, and some looked horrified at what had happened to the man, especially the women. Some even closed their eyes, not wanting to see it.

"Huh! He's a lower-class person but pretends to have the ability to be in the upper class; how embarrassing!" exclaimed one of the invited guests.

"That's how it is; no matter how people try to climb to higher strata, they will eventually return to their roots. It's all predetermined," Grandma muttered in response.

Once the security guards had taken Dennis out of the room, the Huxleys asked the guests to return to their seats to begin lunch. Danny was no exception; Grandma still asked him to sit at the same table as the rest of the Huxley family.

This time, Danny sat beside Matthew and Evan Anderson, Susan's boyfriend. While the two women of the Huxley family sat opposite him.

At that time, Susan and Laura seemed unhappy to sit with their family's loser at the same table. Susan was looking for a way to get the man kicked out of the hall. Seeing Danny in front of her really made her lose her appetite.

Susan quickly got up from her seat and approached Grandma. The young woman began to sulk as she tugged on Grandma's hand. "Grandma! Everyone who comes to lunch here gives you gifts, but there's someone who comes to eat with us and brings nothing. Let alone a gift, the clothes he's wearing are inappropriate."

Laura, who heard this, clearly knew who Susan was referring to, who else but the man who would soon become her ex-husband. Among all the invitees, Danny was the only one dressed inappropriately. While everyone else was dressed formally, he came in his seedy clothes.

Before Susan could respond to Grandma's statement, the girl glanced at Danny with a haughty look. "Danny! How can you be so shameless? Coming and sitting at the dinner table without bringing Grandma any birthday presents. If I were you, I'd leave this party!"

Danny raised one eyebrow and said, "Oh, I'm not the one who wants to sit here. Didn't you see that I was heading towards the exit? Someone came up to me with the excuse that Grandma asked me to have lunch. If I hadn't been asked, do you think I would be here?"

Susan clenched her fists but didn't know that Grandma had asked Laura to call Danny.

"Grandmother asked me to invite you to lunch because she's very generous. But as a granddaughter-in-law, you should have known better and refused Grandmother's invitation. Or at least bring a gift and prove yourself worthy of being here," Laura tried to defend herself.

"That's right, Grandma. Don't be too generous with this man; he'll go rogue!" exclaimed Matthew.

"He's been living in our family for the past three years, sleeping in a comfortable place, not getting cold and not getting wet, eating well, and enjoying other facilities. Yet she won't give you a birthday present. Isn't this tantamount to her disrespecting you?" Susan asked.

What the openly dressed girl said did make sense. As the one invited to the birthday party, she should prepare a gift and congratulate him.

Danny nodded, "Oh, you want a gift. Okay, I'll give it to you."

Danny took his cell phone, and once again, he contacted Simon. "Please prepare an appropriate gift for Mrs. Victoria Huxley. It's her birthday now, so send it to the Majestic Hotel's main ballroom! I need it fast!"

After Danny hung up, the entire Huxley family turned to him. They all laughed at him in unison.

"Danny, you're delusional again! Is your brain having problems?" Matthew asked in a mocking tone.

Danny didn't care what Matthew said. He just sat quietly, looking at his rubber watch, and began to count the time.

"Huh, you finally came to your senses and took the initiative to give Grandma a gift," Susan said. Then she smiled slightly and tapped her cheek with her index finger, making a cute and adorable gesture. But given your background, what kind of gift would it be? If it's a cheap gift, it's not worth bringing here!"

Laura glared at Danny and said in a high tone, "Danny! Don't be crazy! The lowest gift Grandma received was fifty thousand dollars. Even the wine that Grandma rejected cost over a hundred thousand dollars. What are you going to give her? A keychain?"

Laura took a long breath and said, "Danny, you can't do this to Grandma. If you want to give her a gift, let me buy it on your behalf. Think of it as a parting gift from me!"

A few minutes later, the hall door opened, and a courier in an orange uniform walked in, causing the people in the room to stop eating lunch.

"How secure is this hotel? Why let a courier in?" Desmond asked, looking annoyed.

But the courier didn't care. Instead, he approached the Huxley family's table and said politely, "Sorry to interrupt your time. I'm here to deliver a gift requested by a man who uses a Rolls Royce luxury car. There's a lot of traffic now, and he's worried he won't be able to bring a gift for Mrs. Victoria Huxley."

Victoria Huxley smiled when she heard the man in the Rolls Royce. Hearing the vehicle, she knew the person giving the gift was not poor.

"Oh, I'm Victoria Huxley, who has a birthday today. Hurry up and bring me the present!" she exclaimed.

The courier approached her and handed her a luxuriously designed velvet box. "This is the present."

Just looking at the box made everyone in the Huxley family curious. They wondered what was in the box, except for Evan Anderson, who was visibly shaking.
