22. He Is Not Affraid

"Danny!" cried Laura, trying to call out to him, but he didn't turn around.

"Remember, it wasn't you who divorced me! It was me who dumped you! As a man, you have no self-respect at all." Laura shouted again, expressing frustration at the man, now her ex-husband.

Danny, who had just gotten a taxi, turned to Laura and squinted. "Say ecverything you want, it won't affect me in any way!"

Danny got into the taxi and immediately told the driver to leave. Once again, he succeeded in upsetting Laura.

This time, his ex-wife was still standing with a grumpy face. Even though she had been at fault for causing the divorce, Laura still didn't want to admit it. She was still not satisfied to insult Danny until he knelt down and confessed.

Laura pulled Tom's hand and grunted, "Tom, accompany me to follow that useless man!"

Tom raised an eyebrow, "What for? Do you regret your decision?"

Laura looked away, "Sorry for that guy? Never. I just wanted to see if he really left this city or not! I really don't want the Huxley family to run into him again!"

"Oh, just leave it to me. That taxi won't be able to match the speed of my Lamborghini." Tom opened the door for Laura and quickly followed Danny in the taxi.

"He should have left the city since we blocked him," Laura muttered.

But Tom laughed and said, "Hmm not really, wasn't he blocked from becoming a beggar like your cousin said?"

Tom and Laura laughed out loud. "Yes, yes, a beggar. That is the only profession that suits him.

Meanwhile, Danny was busy typing on his cell phone in the taxi. He was trying to create a business plan for Phoenix Crest Group's future.

"Sir, where are we actually going? You've been asking me to keep going. Are you a fugitive from the police?"

Danny stopped his activity; he accidentally glanced at the narrow mirror near the steering wheel. He could see a Lamborghini Aventador following him.

Danny didn't take long to identify the sports car's owner. He nodded and told the taxi driver, "Take me to the Pine Springs area! I'm staying at the Pine Royal resort!"

The taxi driver glanced at Danny momentarily; he couldn't believe a seedy-looking guy like him could afford to stay at a resort like Pine Royal. The cheapest room there alone was almost three times the price of the Suite Room at The Majestic Hotel.

"You're going to stay there?" the taxi driver asked incredulously, continuing to observe Danny's appearance.

This time, Danny was too lazy to argue with the taxi driver; it would only be a waste of time. He came there to surprise the two people who were following him.

"My boss invited me to stay there. He said he needs my help to look after his luggage!" Danny replied, and the taxi driver nodded and dismissed all his suspicions.

"Oh, alright then!"

Meanwhile, in Tom's car, Laura looked surprised when Tom's car had to make a right turn.

"Hey, this isn't the direction to the station, is it?" asked Laura in surprise.

Tom nodded, "Yes, it's so far from the station that it's even far from the suburbs. The route we're on is the route to the Pine Spring area."

"What? He's going to Pine Spring? What for? Shouldn't he be leaving town?" Laura asked, sounding dissatisfied.

Tom chuckled, "What else is he going to do but look for a job? He seems to think that we won't find him in the suburbs."

The Pine Spring area was located on the outskirts of the Northern Coastal and bordered the next town. Tom thought that Danny could make a living there since it was far from the city centre.

"Shouldn't he not be able to find work there? You've blocked him from the entire hospitality industry, right?" asked Laura to ensure that Tom Harold meant what he said a while ago.

"Of course I did. I guess that idiot thinks the Pine Spring area doesn't belong to the Northern Coastal city," Tom retorted.

Laura snorted in annoyance, "He's so uneducated; it's a wonder he doesn't know about this. Laura then turned to Tom, "I think we should follow where he goes and get your people to contact all the hotel managers in Pine Spring to block him from being a hotel guest or applying for jobs!"

Tom nodded, "I'll be happy to do that."

Tom continued to drive the car, following Danny's taxi. The taxi finally entered the Pine Royal Resort and stopped in front of the lobby.

Both Tom and Laura's eyes were wide open. They couldn't hide their surprise when the son-in-law stopped in front of the lobby, and the security guard greeted him kindly.

"Shit!" raged Tom as he pounded the steering wheel. By now, Tom Harold's hands were clenched into tight fists, and his teeth trembled.

"Apparently, he thinks what I said at Grandma's birthday party was just a joke. You'll see what I do; I'll make sure he gets kicked out!" grumbled Tom as he grabbed his cell phone and dialled Fred Nelson, the general manager of Pine Royal Resort.

"Fred, I have a task for you! There's a troublemaker named Danny Raphael who wants to apply for a job at your place! Don't take him on; kick him out if you have to, because he'll only make a mess of your hotel!" ordered Tom Harold.

"Yes Young Master Harold, I'll do it. Thank you for saving the resort from a troublemaker like him," said the resort manager.

Tom turned to Laura with a smile, "In less than ten minutes he'll be kicked out!"

Laura smiled triumphantly and then glanced at Tom. "Hmm, you seem to have good connections with important people."

Tom smiled slightly, "The General Manager of the Resort is just a subordinate of our family. Getting orders from us is an honor for them. Didn't you hear him say thank you after taking orders from me?"

"You're really great, Tom," Laura said.

Tom adjusted his collar and smiled, and his cell phone rang again in less than five minutes. Tom showed Laura the screen with Fred Nelson's name on it. "Look, it hasn't been five minutes since he made his move and gave us the good news."

"Hey Fred, did you do what I told you?" asked Tom.

This time, he forgot to turn on the speaker on his cell phone, so Laura couldn't hear him. Tom listened to Fred's words and was immediately surprised.

"What did you say?" asked Tom, shocked.
