Dominic watched the video play for the fifth time.

Camilla sat at a luxurious candlelit table. Her beautiful eyes sparkled with deep affection.

A bright and genuine smile stretched across her face. She gently fed a fresh strawberry to Sebastian. Her voice carried a sweet melody through the tiny phone speaker.

She sounded like a woman completely and hopelessly in love.

Dominic felt a sharp pain in his chest. His heart pounded against his ribs. He wondered why he had endured three years of pure misery for a woman who despised his very existence.

He remembered all the massive sacrifices he made. He abandoned his own global empire just to live a quiet life with her.

He hid his immense wealth and terrifying power just to experience normal human love.

The experiment was a complete failure. Camilla only loved money and high social status.

The heavy oak door swung open loudly.

Camilla walked into the room. Her sharp heels clicked against the polished hardwood floor.

She wore a stunning tight red designer dress. Her face instantly froze into a mask of pure ice when she saw Dominic sitting on the bed.

"Why are you still awake in my room?" Her tone was flat and completely devoid of any warmth.

"Who is this man?" Dominic turned the glowing phone screen toward her. His jaw clenched tightly.

"That is Sebastian. He is a real man. Something you know absolutely nothing about." Camilla barely glanced at the screen. She tossed her expensive leather purse onto the velvet chair.

"You took him to the restaurant." Dominic stood up from the edge of the mattress. "I saved my allowance for six months to book that table for our third anniversary. You told me you were too busy with important corporate work."

"You actually thought I would sit across from a pathetic loser like you in a high-class place like that? You would humiliate me in front of society. You look like cheap dirt." Camilla let out a harsh and mocking laugh. Her beautiful features twisted into a cruel sneer.

"I am your legal husband." Dominic kept his voice perfectly steady. He refused to show her his breaking heart.

"Do not ever call yourself that." Camilla pointed a perfectly manicured finger at his chest. Her eyes burned with deep disgust.

"You are a charity case. My sick grandfather pitied you. You are nothing but useless garbage stinking up my beautiful house. You do not even have a real job. You are a disgusting leech sucking the blood out of my family."

"I manage this entire household." Dominic took a step closer to her. "I cook your meals every day. I clean your clothes. I take care of you when you are sick. When you had that terrible fever last month, I stayed awake for three straight nights."

"Congratulations on doing the bare minimum. You are a glorified maid. I could hire fifty maids with my spare pocket change. Sebastian runs a multi-million-dollar company. He is brilliant and handsome and incredibly ambitious. When I look at him, I feel truly alive. He treats me like an absolute queen. He actually buys me real diamonds instead of cooking pathetic homemade soup." Camilla rolled her eyes dramatically. She crossed her pale arms over her chest.

"And what do I treat you like?" Dominic narrowed his eyes. "I gave you my absolute total loyalty."

"Your loyalty is completely worthless. Looking at your face makes me physically nauseous. You are worse than the mud on the bottom of my designer shoes. At least mud can be washed away with water. You are a persistent nasty stain on my perfect life. Every time I introduce you to my wealthy friends, they laugh behind my back. You are a living, breathing embarrassment." Camilla stepped closer to him. Her voice dripped with nasty venom.

"You are pathetic. Look at the cheap clothes you wear. Cheap fabrics from disgusting discount stores. Sebastian wears custom-tailored suits. He smells like expensive cologne. You smell like kitchen grease and total failure." Camilla kicked his casual shoes out of her way.

"I cooked your favorite meal tonight." Dominic kept his expression totally blank. "You did not even bother to come home or text me."

"Why would I eat your disgusting peasant food? Sebastian fed me imported truffles and fine caviar. He held my hand gently. He looked at me like a beautiful goddess. You just look at me with those pathetic sad eyes. It makes me want to vomit." Camilla scoffed loudly.

Dominic looked into the cold, icy depths of her eyes. He realized her soul was as ugly as her face was beautiful. There was nothing left to save here. He found absolutely nothing but cruelty. Her cold heart belonged entirely to Sebastian. The cruel woman standing in front of him was a complete stranger.

"If I am such a nasty stain, then I will leave tonight." Dominic set his cracked phone down on the nightstand.

"Are you actually threatening me? You have no money. You have no powerful family. You have no talent. You are a complete zero. You cannot even afford a cheap bus ticket out of this wealthy city." Camilla arched an elegant dark eyebrow. A cruel smirk played on her red lips.

"I will manage just fine." Dominic stared at the blank wall. "I want a divorce."

"A divorce? You actually think you have the power to demand anything from me? Go ahead and leave this house. You will be begging on the dirty streets by tomorrow morning. I will not give you a single penny of my family wealth. You will end up eating out of filthy garbage cans." Camilla laughed very loudly. The sharp sound echoed off the high ceiling.

"I do not want your dirty money." Dominic walked right past her. He did not look back once. He did not pack a single piece of clothing.

"You are a massive joke! Sebastian is ten thousand times the man you will ever be. Go rot in the dark gutters where you truly belong. Good riddance to absolute garbage!" Camilla shouted angrily at his retreating back. Her beautiful face twisted into pure, unadulterated hatred.

Dominic walked quickly down the grand sweeping staircase. The massive mansion felt like a cold, empty prison. He pulled the heavy front door open and stepped out into the chilly night air.

The dark sky was completely starless.

He took a deep, slow breath.

His mind felt clear for the first time in three long years.

He was finally completely free from her endless emotional abuse.

A sleek black luxury sedan sat parked near the massive iron gates of the estate.

A woman paced nervously back and forth on the smooth cobblestone driveway. She wore a sharp, expensive business suit. Her high heels clicked rapidly.

She spun around rapidly the second she heard Dominic walking down the driveway.

It was Eleanor. She was Camilla's biggest corporate rival in the city.

Eleanor sprinted frantically toward Dominic. Her eyes were wide with pure, absolute terror. She stopped two feet away from him and dropped heavily to her bare knees. The rough cobblestones scraped against her soft legs. She did not seem to care about the pain.

"Mr. Dominic." Eleanor pressed her forehead toward the cold ground. Her voice shook violently.

"What are you doing here?" Dominic shoved his bare hands into his dark pockets. His handsome face remained completely unreadable.

"I am so incredibly sorry. I was blind. I was incredibly foolish. I did not know who you truly were until this very afternoon." Eleanor looked up at his tall figure. Heavy tears streamed down her perfectly applied expensive makeup.

"Get up." Dominic kept his deep voice low and very commanding.

"I cannot stand up. Please forgive my ignorance. My company is being crushed into fine dust. My top investors pulled out today. My supply lines are completely blocked worldwide. I know you gave the secret order to destroy me." Eleanor sobbed loudly and pathetically. She grabbed the edge of his simple jacket.

"You crossed a firm line last week." Dominic looked away from her crying face. "You tried to steal the southern development project using underhanded illegal tricks."

"I was incredibly greedy. I thought you were just Camilla's useless husband. I had absolutely no idea you were the hidden power behind the global financial syndicate. I am begging for my miserable life. I will transfer fifty percent of my total shares to you immediately. Just give my dying company one tiny chance to survive." Eleanor squeezed her wet eyes shut tightly.

"My entire board of directors is panicking. The banks froze all my assets an hour ago. You hold the power of life and death over my entire empire. I was a fool to ever doubt your supreme authority. I came here secretly to throw myself at your mercy before Camilla finds out the truth about the titan she just threw away." Eleanor cried much harder. Her grip on his jacket tightened desperately.

"If you crush me today, they all lose their jobs. My entire family will be completely ruined forever. Please, my lord. Do not destroy everything I have built over ten years. I am begging you for a single drop of mercy."

Eleanor lowered her head back to the dirt.
