Chapter 1

The night was dark, as dark as the abyss.

The ground seemed ready to swallow the feet which ran on it.

The trees and the bushes were like a barrier and slowed down his speed as he ran and ran.

His body was drenched with sweat, his eyes had tears and his body had bruises.

He could see a light coming from the front, and his heartbeat quickened once he saw that. He ran even faster and eventually came in front of a house.

A house engulfed in flames of forest spreading its heat to the man who felt burned and his heart crushed.

He collapsed to the ground once he saw the flames and started crying bitterly.

After crying for some time, he got up and took out his phone and was about to call someone and in this state of Frenzy,  the man didn't hear the footsteps from behind him since his ears were occupied by the burning flames.

But he felt.

He felt immense pain in his body and blood oozed out of his shoulder.

He was shot.

He slowly turned to look at the culprit who had shot him, but before he could, his body betrayed him as he fell to the ground and his head hit a rock.

In a brightly lit hospital room, a man suddenly woke up on the hospital bed, gasping for air.

He tried to move his head but felt pain and then he tried to move his hand but couldn't because it ached like hell.

A nurse soon came to his room and, seeing that he was awake, she quickly went to call the doctor.

The doctor also came in pretty quickly and examined his patient.

"Can you hear me?" The doctor asked, and the man replied...

"Yes"

"Do you know your name?"

The man became silent before replying.

"No, who am I? How did I get here?"

The doctor straightened and nodded before checking the man's pulse and giving him some medicine. The doctor didn't answer the man but walked out of the room.

The man was left all alone in the room and was trying to remember anything about himself, but failed.

In the end, he just laid there and stared at the ceiling. his mind was empty and his body was in pain.

A few minutes later, the door of his room opened, and a young woman walked into the room.

The woman looked hesitant and nervous. Her eyes were swollen and she looked scared.

"Who are you?" The injured man asked and the young woman stiffened. As if she was thunderstruck, she just paused at her place and couldn't bring herself to open her mouth and say something.

"Why aren't you answering? Who are you? Do you know me? Who am I?"

The young woman took a deep breath and replied,

"Your name is Bryan."

"And my name is Ashley

Bryan slightly nodded. "And who are you to me?"

"I am your girlfriend."
