Chapter 1
A Ferry On The Sea [I]
As the ferry floated on the blue-gray sea, amid the barrage of rippled waves, Garvin made a dash to the rest room. This was already the fifth time Garvin had visited the ferry's small bathroom since he boarded the ship, and he vomited at one of the toilet seats.
Unfortunately, he had already vomited all the breakfast he had not yet digested and the lunch he had eaten in a hurry before boarding the ship. Now all that could satisfy his need for vomiting was some gastric juices and a little saliva.
We'll be there soon. After struggling out of the bathroom, Garvin lay weakly on the half-man-high iron railing of the ferry, looking at the looming building on the sea to the right in front of him among the turbid waves. The black shadow of the far island served as a source of comfort for the troubled young man who continued to soothe his own nerves. Okay, relax, Garvin. Take a deep breath of fresh air, you will feel better.
As a result, just when he opened his mouth to take a deep breath, a big wave came with the wind, and the salty seawater immediately poured over his head and face, splashing into his mouth.
"Sir, the wind and waves are high today and it is not safe on the deck. Please go to the cabin." A passing crew member saw this and reminded him while trying his best to hold back his laughter.
"Okay, okay, thank you." Garvin wiped his face randomly and stumbled into the cabin door.
There were not many passengers on this ferry, only a dozen or so people scattered around the cabin at the moment. Many of them, like Garvin, looked bitter and depressed because of seasickness.
"Hey, where's this guy?" Looking at the pile of unattended luggage thrown on the seat, Garvin looked around, but couldn't find Sebastian who was traveling with him. He had no choice but to sit down in his seat now.
"Everything I said is true, I'm not trying to scare you!"
But before Garvin could sit, he was startled by a sudden rough male voice. He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a dark-skinned middle-aged man leaning in front of the service desk at the bottom of the east side of the cabin, talking to a beautiful stewardess in her twenties.
The man spoke with a local accent from Block Island, and with his skin color, body shape, and temperament, Garvin was basically sure that he was either a fisherman or a farmer.
There were probably very few passengers today, so the bored stewardess was sitting behind the service desk, drinking water from a medium-sized transparent plastic bottle. It was easy to tell from the expression on her face that no matter how horrifying or unbelievable things the middle-aged man told her before, she was not interested at all.
"Hey, beauty, you don't believe? Everything I just said were not made up, they all really happened!" Seeing the lady's expression, the middle-aged man couldn't help but raise his voice and emphasize again.
The stewardess just smiled in response. Obviously, she didn't know this man, and she had no interest in listening to his continued chatter.
But the man still kept talking. "Beauty, there are real evil in this world. Things beyond your imagination. When I was your age, I didn't believe in this either. But later, I followed the fishing boats around the open seas, riding the wind and waves, traveling all over the world. The more I saw things, the more I began to believe it.”
Garvin couldn't help but shake his head secretly after hearing this. In today's world, making up scary stories to frighten ladies was no longer a way to get closer to them. This was a different age. Little wonder the girls didn't even bother to talk to him.
"However, I have been to so many places with fishing boats and seen so many evil things. And you know what, the place that frighten me most is the Block Island. It's a totally evil place." The fisherman was obviously a talkative man. Even after the ladies ignored him, he still nagged them endlessly.
"Beauty, you haven't heard what the older folks on the island often say. A small island like Block Island, which is isolated from the mainland and surrounded by sea water, is most likely to accumulate dangerous energy and produce some unholy things. Do you know how many people die in vain every year on that island alone?"
At this point, he was like a pug waiting for meat and bones from his master. He stared at the stewardess with wide eyes, expecting a reaction from her. But as expected, the stewardess was very uncooperative. She didn't even bother to smile this time and just lowered her head to drink her water.
However, the fisherman was not someone who would give up easily. He continued his one-man show without any discouragement: "Beauty, do you know that there is a haunted house on the island in a place called Hacken Cliff?"
This time, the stewardess finally reacted, raised her head and glanced at him. "I know."
Garvin on the side was a little depressed after hearing this. The fisherman said that Block Island was unholy, and that there was a haunted house on the island. How could this make him feel relaxed when he was about to go to the island?
Garvin has had some terrible bad luck in the past six months or so. He seems to be particularly connected to the word "unnatural". He always saw ghosts while working in the hospital. He was on vacation now, and he planned to visit his grandma on Block Island, one of the remotest area of Rhodes Island in America. But before getting to his destination, someone said that the island was haunted. What kind of fate was that?
This connected him to another strange event, some time before he decided to go to Block Island. Almost every night, he would dream of a lonely island floating in the ocean. The narrow, green landscape and the pitch-black beach made this gloomy island look like a prehistoric giant crocodile coiling above the sea.
The water surface where this giant crocodile lurked was dark. Garvin in his dream always thought it was because the water was not very clean at first, but when he looked at it carefully, he was shocked to find that something was wandering back and forth under the water, which made the water surface dark.
It was pitch black.
What made him even more frightened was something like a huge black jellyfish, wandering around the island in the sea water. It was in the likeness of a black evil ghost with a pale skull face. At the same time, there was a faint voice coming from the depths of the island. It was unclear whether it was a man or a woman, but it could be heard that someone was calling his name, in a shadowy and sad tone, as if desperately calling him to come to this island. An island haunted by evil.
Every time the dream continued to this point, it ended abruptly, leaving him confused after waking up with a start.

Not long after they left the house, they saw Ade coming towards them in his car. When he saw them, he shouted excitedly. "Hey my friends, I hope you've not been waiting here for too long? I came here as soon as I received your call!""No, the timing is just right." Sebastian jumped into the car easily.Garvin looked listless because he didn't sleep well last night and didn't make up for the sleep this morning. He climbed into the car slowly like an old man lacking energy."Where are you two going to take photos today?" Ade always seemed to be full of energy and spirit, and asked happily while driving his car.."Let's go to the Our Lady shrine in Bedlam." Sebastian fiddled with his SLR camera and said without raising his head.He had seen people taking pictures of ghosts with cameras in horror movies more than once, so he decided to make better use of this camera from today on to see if he could also capture ghost images like others."Our Lady in Bedlam?" Ade was very surprised. "In t

The Haunted Island The Bewitched Boy [I]
In the early morning, the heavy rain that had been falling all night finally stopped, but the weather was still damp and gloomy, without a trace of sunshine."Shit, the sun is rising from the north!" Sebastian, who was used to getting up early, cried out in disbelief as he walked into the dining room on the first floor. He quickly ran to the dining table and stared at Garvin who was drinking porridge. "Are you sure you're really Garvin? I don't think Garvin would get up so early.""Really?""Oh.." Then, as if he suddenly thought of something, Sebastian immediately came close to Garvin and said with infinite sympathy. "I understand, you must have been harassed by that female ghost in white all night, and you couldn't sleep at all, right?""Oh my God.." Garvin glared at this guy who was eager to cause chaos in the world and said, "You're already going insane."Garvin don't know if the white-clothed female ghost had a change of heart or something, but she didn't show up last night. What

The Haunted Island What Happened To My Mother? [II]
Garvin repeated his question again, fearing that his grandmother might get suspicious, and added, "Since I came back here, I keep thinking about my mother. I really want to know something about her past."Seeing Yvonne trying to walk upstairs with a cane, Garvin immediately ran over to help her. Holding his grandson's arm, Yvonne sighed and said with a sense of loss: "When your mother was young, the only thing that made her sad was probably that her father died too early.""How did grandpa die?" Garvin asked again."Why, didn't your mother mention it to you?" Yvonne glanced at him strangely and asked."She just said that he seemed to have died of some illness." What Garvin had always found difficult to understand was that his mother always said that she and his father had a good relationship, but she rarely mentioned his father in front of her husband and son. Even when she paid tribute to him during the annual festivals, she always remained sad but silent.Upon hearing this, Yvonne's

The Haunted Island What Happened To My Mother? [I]
Since his mother passed away due to illness two years ago, Garvin had imagined many times that he could see her again. Now God finally heard his voice and made his wish come true with such a thrilling and amazing effect. "Mom?" Garvin cautiously called out to his mother Yvette, who looked younger than himself. He really couldn't understand why she appeared in front of her son in this appearance. However, the girl Yvette turned a deaf ear to her son's calls, and just sat there wiping her eyes with her fingers. Garvin then realized that his mother seemed to be crying. It was "seemed to be crying" because he only saw her frowning and looking sad, but he could not see any tears falling from her face. Perhaps ghosts simply cannot shed tears like living people? "Mom, it's me!" Although the person in front of him was a real ghost, and her appearance was far from the last appearance of his mother in his memory, Garvin still felt sincere intimacy and nostalgia after gradually calming down,

The Haunted Island No Part Of The Bad Luck
"There is still a way," The garbage man glanced at them mysteriously with his bloodshot yellow eyes, and then gave a very "amazing" answer under the great expectations of the two, "If you two have time, go to the Wells Mountain Shamanic Shrine. It is said to be very effective!"Oh my god! He thought that the garbage man would give him some good ideas, but he didn't expect that he would ask him to visit the shrine to pray to god again. If this trick worked, would he have ended up like this? Garvin complained in his heart, and then said to the garbage man weakly. "Sir, I have been to a shaman shrine, had my fate read, and consulted a Shaman, but it's all useless, okay?""Sir," Sebastian was also at a loss whether to laugh or cry, and stopped the garbage grandson who was about to leave with the woven bag. "At least tell us, what is the origin of this female ghost in white?""I've already answered that, I can't see it!" The garbage man said this, suddenly getting irritated, "You know what

The Haunted Island No Way Out?
The garbage man's words reminded Garvin of the nightmare he was having before he came to the island. The mournful voice that came from the depths of the island and kept calling him made him shudder.Sebastian originally wanted to say with a smile, "Who are you fooling, old man?" But suddenly he remembered the dream that Garvin had told him before, and he couldn't laugh anymore. The three of them fell into silence for a moment, and the atmosphere on the scene suddenly became a little depressing. After a while, Sebastian was the first to break the silence. "Sir, how do you know all this? Who are you?"The garbage man had a blank expression on his face. He glanced at him and said in a low voice, "I worked as a witch doctor for a while when I was young."It turned out that this was another former shaman who had dealth with spirits or fortune telling. However, Garvin felt that this Shaman seemed to be more capable than those scammers he had met in Providence City before! So he immediately
