“What do you mean? I’m just an ordinary citizen taking a walk at night,” Bima replied, doing his best to keep his voice as calm as possible.

Bima swallowed hard. His heart pounded so violently it felt as though it might leap out of his throat. The woman stepped forward. The dim glow of the streetlights stretched the shadow of her slender figure across the asphalt. Bima’s eyes drifted to the silver dagger in her hand. It looked sharp, and definitely not like a toy.

[Warning: Heart rate increasing dramatically. Fear indicators detected. The System recommends immediate retreat or a lethal counterattack.]

Bima ignored the cold voice in his head. He couldn’t run. If he fled, he would only look like a coward or a fugitive. The woman stopped exactly three steps in front of him. The scent of fresh, expensive floral perfume reached his nose, a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere. Her eyes were sharp, carrying a gaze that could make any man’s courage crumble.

“An ordinary citizen?” The woman chuckled softly. Her voice rang like metal striking metal. “Ordinary citizens don’t radiate strange energy from their bodies. And you, Bima, have had an extremely abnormal aura ever since you left that convenience store.”

Bima froze. How did this woman know his name? Was she one of the agents from an organization tracking the existence of the System?

[Threat detected. Target is a high-level hunter. Use the skill ‘Psychological Intimidation’ to survive.]

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Bima said, desperately searching for an explanation. “But I think you’ve got the wrong person. I’m just a guy who likes organizing store shelves.”

The woman tilted her head slightly. She stepped closer, so close that Bima could feel the warmth of her breath.

“Organizing shelves while glaring so murderously that the store owner runs away in fear? You call that a hobby?”

Bima felt awkward. He instinctively took a step backward, but his foot caught on the curb. Losing his balance, he stumbled directly into the woman. Both of his hands landed on her waist as he tried to stop himself from crashing to the ground. The atmosphere changed instantly.

The distance between them became almost nonexistent. Bima could see every detail of her face, the smooth texture of her skin, and her lips, slightly parted in surprise. Their eyes met. Bima found himself captivated by her irises, which seemed to contain an extraordinary depth of emotion.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” Bima exclaimed, his face burning red.

The woman did not push him away immediately. Instead, her grip on the dagger loosened. Slowly, she slid the weapon back into her leather jacket. She stared at Bima with an expression that was difficult to interpret. There was disbelief in her eyes, mixed with an unusual curiosity.

[Data detected. Subject is experiencing emotional turbulence. This is an opportunity to establish romantic dominance. The System will award 100 bonus points if you kiss her now.]

System, you really have no brain at all! Bima shouted inwardly.

“You’re careless,” the woman whispered. Her voice had softened, though it still carried a trace of firmness.

She slipped free from Bima’s hold and stood upright with effortless grace.

“But you’re also unique. Very few people can look at me like this without trembling in fear.” Bima stood and brushed the dust from his pants.

“I’m not afraid of you. I’m afraid of myself if I make another mistake.”

“What kind of mistake?” the woman asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

“Mistakenly choosing the wrong place to be kind,” Bima answered casually.

The woman laughed. The sound was clear and melodious in the quiet night.

“My name is Rina. And if you’re the villain everyone’s hunting, you’re doing a terrible job. You don’t look like a monster. You look like a man who needs someone to talk to.”

“Bima. And yes, I do need someone to talk to, preferably someone who isn’t carrying a sharp weapon.” Rina glanced at the dagger she had just put away.

“This is only for protection. The world isn’t as safe as you think, Bima. There are things far more terrifying than a System that meddles with your thoughts.”

Bima stared at her. “How do you know I have a System?”

Rina stepped closer again. This time, she leaned in and whispered directly into his ear. “Because I have something similar. And I think we should talk somewhere less exposed than this.”

A chill ran down Bima’s spine.nHad he just found someone who shared the same fate? Or was this simply another trap prepared by the absurd destiny that seemed determined to torment him? Suddenly, the System’s voice rang through his mind again, this time with an ear-piercing intensity.

[Critical Warning! Subject designated Rina is a threat to your existence. She is an A-Class Villain Hunter. End this conversation immediately and launch a preemptive attack before she discovers your true identity!]

Bima ignored it. He looked at Rina, who was waiting patiently for his response. A strange warmth spread through his chest, something he had never felt during all his years growing up in the orphanage. This wasn’t about evil points or ridiculous missions. It was about a genuine human connection.

“Would you like to have dinner with me?” Bima asked impulsively.

One of Rina’s eyebrows rose. She looked surprised, but a faint smile soon appeared on her lips.

“Dinner? You’re inviting a hunter to dinner in the middle of a situation like this?”

“Why not? At least we can eat without trying to kill each other.” Rina studied him for a long moment. It was as if she were reading his mind, searching for lies hidden behind those innocent eyes. Finally, she gave a slight nod.

“All right. But if you try anything funny, I won’t hesitate to make you regret it.”

[Mission Failed! You ignored the System’s order to attack. Two hundred points will be deducted. You are in extreme danger, Host!]

Bima silenced the notification in his mind. The mechanical voice no longer weighed on him. In this insane world, he felt that Rina was the only thing that actually made sense.

“Follow me,” Rina said as she turned and began walking. “I know a small place where we can talk, far from the eyes of the organization hunting you.”

Bima followed her. It felt as though he were walking straight into a trap, yet his heart refused to stop racing. He had no idea whether the night would end with a romantic date or a battle for survival. As they passed through a dark alley, Rina suddenly stopped. She grabbed Bima’s arm and pushed him against the damp wall.mTheir bodies touched once more. This time, Rina looked at him with a different intensity.

“Bima, before we go any further, tell me one thing,” Rina whispered, her low voice carrying a subtle sensuality. “Are you truly evil, or are you just playing games with fate?”

Bima looked into her eyes. Then he noticed her hand slowly moving toward her waist. The atmosphere between them became thick, intimate, and filled with unspoken tension.

“I’m just Bima,” he replied quietly. “And I don’t want to hurt anyone, including you.”

Rina smiled. But that smile was full of mystery. She released him, turned around, and continued walking, leaving Bima in a state of complete confusion. At the far end of the alley, they spotted a large shadow approaching. It wasn’t a single person. It was a group of armed individuals wearing an unfamiliar emblem on their chests. Rina immediately drew her dagger again, this time with a movement that was far faster and far more lethal.

“It looks like our dinner will have to wait,” Rina said coldly. Bima felt the System inside his head begin screaming once more, this time issuing a far more dangerous mission.

[New Mission: Eliminate the attacking group with your full power, or you will die here!]
