Ivy's' POV

I managed to get to the laboratory on time, Ryan saw me and smiled.” wow!!! So, he knew what he did” I said, shaking my head “Ivy have you seen your partners? Lisa asked, “no I haven't” I replied, "check the notice board,” she said to me, I walked towards the notice board “gosh!! Not Jira, I checked for the rest of the members “Ohhh, Ryan” I smirked and walked towards him. “Hey we are in the same group,” I told him, “I Know” he answered coldly. “ What's wrong with this one, anyway, nobody can resist my charm,” I said to myself. “Okay class, since you all have been divided into your various groups, you guys are going to carry out a titration” Our chemistry teacher Miss Rita, a fat, short lady with a small nose and small eyes, short brown hair had bangs. Why did she even put Jira in my group” I wondered.

   "Hi Ryan, I am Jira” she said, tucking her hair behind her ear and smiling, "nice to meet you", Ryan said as he extended his hands for a shake. “You are handsome,” she said, still smiling, “of course, I got wonderful genes from my parents,” he said, “I saw you reading about vampires, can I have the book when you are done reading it? Jira asked.

     “Do you like vampires? Ryan asked with a surprised look, of course, I do, who doesn't?” Jira answered. Wow!! Jira must want to impress Ryan” I thought, I have known Jira since elementary school, she doesn't even like mermaid cartoons, not to talk about liking vampires, she didn't even read novels that were compulsory for school, but she wants to read Ryan's book. “We came here for practicals, not for novel reading,” I said bluntly, “Ivy, you are just like a character in this book, she is a grumpy, old vampire, look at it,” Ryan said, showing me the book.

  "I don't care,” I responded, “what about me?” Jira asked, “hmm, I think you are exactly like this vampire, a nice, pretty one,” he said, showing her a pretty vampire.” Urgh!!” My anger increased, so he thinks Jira is more pretty than I am, “gosh he must be blind” I thought. Jira was smiling bright, as happiness was boldly written on her face, I couldn't bear to see her and Ryan getting along, “Ivy can you pass me the beaker” Ryan asked, having kept his novel, I gave it to him, and he started the titration, he pulled up his sleeve exposing his bare hands to prevent staining his clothes with the indicator.” wow!! He is muscular”.” he can hear you” Eva, who was standing close to me whispered in my ear, I turned to her and smiled.

       “Bang!!! Beaker fell from my hands and broke into pieces, “Ivy what's wrong, concentrate” Miss Rita shouted. I bent down to pick up the broken pieces, and Eva joined me, “ouch” she shouted as blood flowed from her hands, broken pieces had cut her hands. *Eva came with me to the school clinic,” Miss Rita said, she went over to her as they both left the lab. I kept staring at the blood, which felt as though it was calling me to lick it. My throat began to get itchy,” what's wrong with me” My eyes were fixed on the blood stain on a broken glass. Are you alright? Ryan asked, " Am fine,” I said. I left the laboratory for the class to get water to quench my thirst, but the water couldn't. It felt like the only thing that could quench it was blood, I could remember the taste of Jira's blood. I ran to the restroom and bit my hand, blood gushed out. I tasted it, but it tasted just like any other normal blood. I started sweating profusely, my legs were wobbly, and I couldn't walk properly. Not only that, but I held the wall for support, my head was spinning, and I fell. “Haaaa!!!!” I heard someone shouting and started calling others for help.

Ryan's POV

   “Ivy isn't back, she was looking pale, I hope she isn't sick” I kept worrying within myself. Her pale face when she broke the beaker kept replaying in my head. I should go and look for her, “where are you going? Jira asked “I will be back soon,” I said as I left the lab. I got to the classroom, but she wasn't there, “where will she be? I said, "loss in thought.” help!!! Someone just fainted” I heard someone shouting, I ran to where the sound was coming from, Ivy was lying down on the floor.

Lisa's POV

     I followed Ryan as he left the laboratory,” Eva how is the cut? I asked as she was returning from the school clinic, “it's just a mild cut, where are you going? She asked, “I want to see Ivy”. I think she is not fine because she looked pale when she left the laboratory” I answered, let's go together,” she said. We saw a small crowd at the entrance of the restroom, “I wonder what's happening. Let's check” I said, pulling Eva in the direction.” Ivy, Ivy!!! We both screamed as we rushed to her, Ryan came close to us and carried her quickly and ran to the school clinic. I picked up her phone and called her dad “sir..... sir Ivy just fainted” I said in fear “I will be there shortly” he said as he ended the call.

Ivy's POV

     I opened my eyes and found that I was back in my room, I stood up from the bed, my head wasn't hurting again, and it felt better. I tipped-toed downstairs, as I wanted to avoid disturbing Mom and Dad. I could hear faint whispering coming from my parent's room. I stopped to listen as I could hear my name being mentioned, and I went closer to the door. I couldn't believe what I had just heard, I covered my mouth in shock.

Mom's POV

“What's wrong honey? I asked, Ivy hasn't been the same since the party, as she has been fainting or having weird dreams. “ Talk to me, her doctor said it was fine and that nothing was wrong with her,” I said. Her demon self is awakening” Deaban said with a sorrowful tone. “What!!! I exclaimed “But she was born without any demon features” I questioned “She is half human and half demon. We should have expected something like this” Deaban answered.”Nooooo she won't accept this, you know her ivy is” I said quietly. “What. That's crazy, it can't be me” Ivy said. We turned in shock, surprised to saw Ivy at the door.

Ivy's POV

“Mom, Dad, what are you talking about? I asked, unbelievable. “Sweetie it's nothing,” Mom said as she rushed to me and held my hands. “Dad, talk to me,” I shouted. “Calm down and listen to us,” Dad said, coming close to me, “I'm listening” I answered. “Ivy, you know there are more things in life than what meets the eye, "yes" I nodded, "Good then listen to me, what if I tell you that I am a mystical being, a demon to be precise, and that your mom is human, Would you believe it? Dad asked, looking at me deep in the eyes. "No...no," I said, shaking my head, "well I am, sadly" Dad answered with a shaking voice and teary eyes. I couldn't believe what I had just heard, "why are you in the human world? I struggled to ask in between tears. "I was banished wrongly from my world and sent here to complete a Mission before I will be allowed back, I met your mom after living in this world for a very long time. We fell in love, got married, and had you" Dad concluded. “What!!! You don't expect me to believe what you have just said'' I asked in anger. "Sweetie, that's the only plausible explanation as to why you have been fainting and your thirst for blood" Dad added. "Sweetie, it's gonna be okay" Mom managed to say." No...no!!! I can't be a demon, I won't believe you” I screamed and ran to my room.
