Arthur arrived at his parents' house, his heart pounding in his chest.

Nervousness gripped him as he stood before the familiar door, having not been with them for ages.

Memories of the past flooded his mind, the hurtful words they said to him, and how they rejected him for being a failure in life.

Taking a deep breath, he tried to push those thoughts aside, reminding himself that he only wanted to see them for the last time, to find closure and perhaps even to forgive them.

As he reached for the doorknob, his mind played a cruel slideshow of all the terrible things they said about him.

The pain from the past resurfaced, and he could still feel the physical and verbal abuse that he endured before running away from home.

He wondered if he would be able to meet their eyes, to face the ones who had hurt him so deeply.

Despite the pain, he longed for a chance to forgive and move on.

Summoning courage, he knocked on the door, hoping they would be there.

But there was no response.
