Four

She angrily said and walked up to Dan, who just hung on a phone call and was looking tensed.

“What is it, baby?”

Karen asked worriedly.

“Umm... Grandma has lost a lot of blood, and she is in a state of coma.”

“No way. That scum will pay with his dare life. He will Roth in jail if anything happens to my grandmother.”

Karen, cursed as she wept.

“Don't worry, we will go to the hospital and I will get everything fixed. I have asked the doctor to commence treatment. I will be donating blood to grandma.”

Dan spoke, and that gladdened Karen. Of course, he knows that will gladden her heart.

“I'm coming along with the both of you.”

Carissa, spoke and Karen hissed. Dan, signaled her to hop into the car, and so they drove off to the hospital.

While they drove, Dan was lost in his thoughts that he didn't pay attention to what Karen was saying.

“Dan?”

She called after some minutes of no reply to the question Karen asked him.

“Did you say something? I mean, I wasn't actually…”

“What is the problem?” Karen asked in so much concern.

“I'm actually thinking about grandmother. I hope all will be well with him.”

He lied, navigating to the road on the left.

“Let Sebastian, be worried. He should be the one praying to whatever he believes in to save grandma else, I will strangle him with my bare hands.”

She said, still in anger and Carissa, sighed inwardly, saying nothing to them both.

“Yeah, but…grandma is Like my grandma too, I should be worried.”

 He spoke again.

“You see that Carissa, Dan have a big heart and you know, Sebastian, is full of evil. Now you have to walk around the city with a murderer. I will advise you get down from the car, run to the temple, and pray for grandmother's health, so she could recover so that your poverty stinking husband will be set free.”

“I suggest you do so too. Just for the many whose hearts are guilty.”

She responded and Karen, found it awkward but Dan, adjusted as he subconsciously hit the break.

“Are you okay?”

Karen asked immediately.

“ Yes, I'm ok. My head is spinning.” Dan responded. “ I feel so sick”

“Sick?” Karen quickly touched his neck. “You are running temperature.”

She spoke worriedly.

“We are at the front of the hospital, I could help call a nurse if he needed. Meanwhile, I'm off to locate where grandma is.”

Carissa, said, and left the both of them there.

“Go see grandma Karen, I will be inside in a while.” Dan spoke, scrolling through his phone.

“Are you sure?” asked Karen again.

“Yes”

He answered impatiently.  Just then his phone rang and Karen, quickly walked away.

“Did you really say the Leeuwenhoek is back to business? How is it so?”

He asked intently.

“Yes, boss, and it happens that he has a son. He is actually searching for the boy. Meanwhile, Sir, this will be a crash in our business.”

The person from the other end answered.

“Most definitely. Being in a coma all these while, he is still the top businessman, what do you expect when he is fully back on his both feet.”

Dan murmured on the phone call and hanged up, thinking deeply while running his hands through his hair.

While at home, Sebastian, received a hot thrashing that left him half-dead.

Pacing through the halls, Ava, was impatient. He felt that there's something about Sebastian, but she didn't know exactly what it was. So, she entered the room to ask him questions.

Seeing the door open, he jotted in fear. His entire body aches in pain. His right eye was brutally wounded that it couldn't open. It was swollen.

“I apologize for all the many wrongs that I have caused you. I love grandma Hailey, a lot. I couldn't have let her fall…”

He spoke but Ava, remained silent looking at him. Then she drew a chair and sat on it, crossing her legs against each other.

“Whatever happened there was an accident that I know. But, if grandma, Hailey, doesn't survive, then it will no longer be a case of accident but a murder.”

She spoke coldly, and Sebastian's heart fell into his tummy in great fear. He wouldn't want to stay in jail.

“What is your name?” She asked, looking intently at him.

“Sebastian Katerina”

He answered meekly. Trying very hard to hide his pains.

“Sebastian Katerina?”

Ava questioned surprise. That's one name that sounds so awkward.

“Is she a single mother? I mean your mother?”

“Well… Ma'am, I don't know. I was brought up in an orphanage, that's where I considered a home. The people there are my family. I haven't even seen my Mom but, sometimes she sends gifts, and she never fails to send her heartwarming letters, it stopped when I was kicked out of the orphanage.”

He explained bitterly, trying very hard to hide his pain.

“What a pathetic story.”

She murmured and Sebastian, looked at her. He couldn't understand what this woman was. He doesn't know what she wants.

“You have great potential, but it can't manifest while you are here in the Marcus mansion.”

“I only want Karen, to believe in me, ma'am…”

“You have to believe in yourself.  Let go of Karen, that brat will never acknowledge you. Move on if you would rather not die young. You can do with Carissa, she has kindness and care. You will be happy with her. But, don't hurt her.”

She warned coldly.

“All I want is a reciprocating love and not kindness and care.”

“Accept kindness and care. It's the best you could ever have aside forced love.”

Ava spoke and stood to her feet. Sebastian, hoped she gets her released, but the Lady turned the doorknob and slammed the door against him. Just immediately, the door flipped open, it was Ava again.

“Pray to your God, that grandma Hailey, regains consciousness.”

She spoke and closed the door behind him as he tried sitting up, but all his body aches so bad.

At the hospital, the doctor informed the Marcus that grandma had been given blood and Karen, was thankful. She thought Dan, had actually done the miracle, not knowing, he paid for blood to be bought. He had vowed not to Pierce his skin because of grandma Hailey.

“Doctor, how long can we wait?”

Carissa asked the doctor immediately he walked inside.

“We are happy because, she is speedily responding to treatment. We shall wait until she wakes from her sleep.”

The doctor answered, smiled and walked out. While Carissa, joined her palm together in thanks.

“Of course you should be grateful that grandma has remained consciousness else, I would slaughter you along with that husband of yours.”

Mrs. Cherry said to Karissa, in an angry tone and then, Karen, walked in with Dan, smiling cheek to cheek.

“How is grandma? I hope she is…”

“How are you, dear?” Mrs. Cherry interrupted his questioned. “You really did us a great favor by donating blood to grandma, you are a true son-in-law.”

“Not only that, he paid the hospital expenses.”

Karen added, and Dan, felt on top of the world.

“Can you see that? I must throw Sebastian, out of my house before sunset tomorrow.”

 Mrs. Cherry queried at Carissa.

“Some persons are so parasitic and self-centered. Sebastian is one of them.”

Dan spoke and Carissa glared at him angrily while Karen, chuckled.

“Get up! He needs to sit down!”

Mrs. Cherry, queried and Carissa, stood to her feet in annoyance.

“I will be leaving for home.”

She said, and without waiting for a word from anyone, she walked out of the ward.
