Alvin scoffed at them and rolled his eyes, waiting for more drama.

The manager had a sharp eyes and was discerning.

“Customer, is that what happened? I want to hear from you.”

“Manager, what do you mean? Are you doubting me?” The sales attendant quickly interrupted, looking upset.

“Shut up immediately, unless you want to get fired. Customer, please.”

“I came here to take my sister shopping, in my bid to cheer her up. Who would have expected that your sales attendant would insult us? She even tried to slap me, and all I did here was in self defense. You can check the cameras. All the people I hit were those who tried to hit me first. My sister went through a lot last night barely surviving a life and death accident. I brought her here to cheer her up, and let her clean up before we leave. But your good staff assaulted us, frightening my already scarred sister even more. How do you think we should settle this?” Alvin asked, looking straight at the manager.

The manager watched him carefully, trying to make a, decision.

‘His clothes are stained with dried blood, and he has dried wounds on his hands. So what he said about the accident is probably true. Everyone knows Starlight mall only deals in luxury. If he came here to change clothes after an accident, it means he has enough money to pay. The pendant on the girl's neck was made of purple imperial jade, which is very expensive. She's not ordinary. And she's the daughter of the fallen KS group. The boy might be a friend from another powerful family who came to rescue her after hearing about her family's tragedy. The accident could also mean that the people who harmed her parents came for her last night but the young master arrived in time to rescue her. Besides, these two girls are fond of throwing themselves at rich men while treating cleaners with disdain. Their bloody and muddy clothes must have made the staff despise them. And a proud man used to being worshipped can't swallow that, making him retaliate immediately. He didn't leave after causing trouble which means he has backing. And most importantly, he didn't look at me with lewd gaze. Most men immediately lose composure when they see me, but he met my gaze without the slightest signs of faltering. This can only mean that he's used to being around beautiful and powerful women. He can't be a beggar. His disposition doesn't look like an insecure and terrified bum.’

“You have been staring at me for a long time. What? Do you want to attack me too?” Alvin asked interrupting the manager.

She immediately gave him a beautiful smile.

“You must be joking, young master. Why will I attack an esteemed client? Please, come with us. However, to shop in this section, you have to make a deposit which ranges from two hundred thousand dollars to one million dollars in trust. So that in the case where by a cloth being tested is damaged it could be settled amicably, and money for repair would be deducted. It could also be considered tier one membership f*e.” She said, still smiling.

The deposit was a big lie, but she wanted to test if he had the money to pay.

“Okay.” Alvin said without thinking much, and brought out the card.

“System, is the card ready for use?”

“Of course, will I give you a dummy card? It can work on any machine.”

Alvin offered the card to the manager to inspect it.

‘Gold rimmed black card issued by the world bank? In this whole world, there are less than ten people qualified to have it. It's only below the supreme platinum which has not been issued yet. Thank goodness I came out on time. Otherwise, our store would have lost a big cash cow.’ The manager said mentally, her shrew business mind dancing for joy.

“Go bring the withdrawal machine immediately.” She barked at the sales attendant.

The sales attendant grudgingly obeyed, waiting for the card to decline.

“Young master, how much should we withdraw?” She asked, smiling at Alvin.

“How much will be enough to give her a make over? I don't think we remembered to take her clothes along.” He said, looking at her with his brows furrowed.

“One million will be enough.”

“Make it two million, I will also pick a few things for myself.”

The moment Alvin said this, the two sales attendants began to laugh.

“You want to withdraw two million dollars? Do you even have two thousand dollars?” One of them asked, their voice dripping with disdain.

The manager immediately slapped the speaker, and then swiped the card.

“Payment successful, two million dollars received.” The machine announced.

The hearts of the sales attendants and the security guard who have been standing to the side immediately skipped a few beats.

“Impossible! The machine must be faulty.” The sales attendants shouted simultaneously.

The manager slapped them in exasperation, wondering why they wanted to ruin their stores chance of being the first to make massive sales this morning.

“Get lost immediately.” She shouted, and the two sales attendants turned grudgingly to obey.

“Did I say they could leave after frightening my little sister? Such arrogant people that judge based on looks alone, flattering the powerful while oppressing the weak, should not be allowed to continue in Starlight malls. If they continue working here, things like what happened here will continue to happen. You will lose lots of customers. Besides, they're unrepentant. The only condition for me to return here after today is if you fire them.” He said coldly, making the two women terrified.

They immediately went down on their knees.

“Please, forgive us young master. We didn't know you're…”

“Exactly. You didn't know I had money. That was why you humiliated us—because our clothes were stained with mud and blood. You haven't changed at all. You don't regret your actions. You regret not realizing sooner that I'm not what you initially thought.” Alvin said and scoffed at them.

“The both of you are fired, go to HR and process your severance immediately. And if you linger here for a second, you will be arrested and made to pay for damages.” The manager interrupted, making one of the girls to collapse.

  • No escape route

Alvin waved a handkerchief and sedating needles rained down on the vulture. It screeched like there was no tomorrow, and ran after Alvin. Alvin used a movement technique, appearing behind the mage. The vulture paused, and stretched its long neck like it was confused and searching for something. “Young man, how did you manage to get in here?” The vulture man asked casually, as if it hadn't just sent a monstrous beast after him. The vulture went through a special mutation to make it more skilled in combat, not counting how many cultivators the old man fed it daily. It had strong combat prowess but vultures weren't the smartest organisms. They still needed instructions before they could do anything. Alvin raised his handkerchief again. The vulture man sneered. “Young man, don't waste your energy. My pet is a spiritual beast. Trying to use those petty tricks…” The vulture flapped its wings and lunged towards Alvin, while the mage quickly got out of the way. “Squeeeek…” Al

The mage in the lead stared down at Alvin, his black eyes cold and deep like an abyss. He looked no older than eighteen but Alvin knew he was definitely way older than that. These blood sucking vampires had creative ways to make themselves look younger. “Young man, you dared to enter here, steal our stuff, and kill our people. You must be very brave.” “Or very stupid.” Another mage added. There were five mages floating above the soldiers. The one in the middle looked boyish, while the rest seemed to be in their thirties and forties. “Do you have nine lives? Or have you been looking for who to kill you?” Alvin kept silent, and popped a pill into his mouth. He knew taking pills in his current condition would make things worse for him and wreck him completely, but he was past caring at this point. There was no other option except to take the risk. It might kill him later, but at least, it would buy him enough time to push these hellhounds off. “Why are you angry I killed one

Alvin continued to type furiously at the keyboard, but his limbs were turning disobedient . They no longer did what he needed them to do, sluggish in a way that they never were. He felt blood on his face, and shifted his mask to wipe them off. He touched nothing. Blood was blinding his vision, but nothing stained his hand. What was happening? Even as he wondered, he didn't stop typing, his hand moving through using muscle memory. He had gotten so good at hacking that he could do it with his eyes closed. Not in this condition though. Internal bleeding. The answer resounded in Alvin's mind, cold, heavy and final. The blood wasn't dripping down his face and covering his eyes, the veins ruptured from the insides, sending blood to places they had no business being. He continued typing, blinking repeatedly to get rid of the blood clots. He tried to circulate energy to protect his head and eyes, but he saw signs of toxins in his meridians, causing him to stop. He would rather not ri

  • To become a sinner

The professor looked at the syringe with a dread filled heart. Then at Alvin who seemed equivalent to the devil with horns at that moment. “If you let me go, I will tell you the safest way to leave.” He muttered, making a feeble insincere effort at talking his way out of trouble. Alvin’s eyes turned mischievous, and he slowly leaned towards the man. “What if I don't want to leave?” Alvin's question stumped the man. He looked at the syringe and swallowed the lump in his throat. He didn't know what it was, but he had a haunch, and all the things he came up with were equally devastating. “You keep refusing a toast only to drink a forfeit.” The professor tried desperately to come off as tough and in control. And failed. “If you don't leave now, forget about escaping. I will make you pay, down to your fifth generation. We at this place won't let go of this slight. You…” The rest of his words dissolved into a pained humph. Alvin drove the needle into a prominent vein on his hand,

  • showing cruelty to evil ones

Dark owl fortress Alvin glared at the person before him. His eyes weren't visible beneath his black cloak, but the person before him didn't seem to mind. “You had the choice to leave earlier, with an intact body. Now, you can only be my specimen. I smell a powerful bond inside you, you will add more shine to my resplendent crown.” Alvin burst into laughter. Blood colored his teeth beneath the mask, and his breathing was heavy. Some people truly had vivid imaginations. He, Alvin, reduced to a specimen? Hahahaha. The professor remained unruffled, watching Alvin like he was a stain on the otherwise pristine tiles. The next instant, the cuffs tightened, causing professor Kim to hiss in pain. Alvin delivered a well timed kick, sending the man to the floor. Alvin pulled out the two poisoned needles, and burned the now empty syringes. If not for fear of leaving traces of his DNA, he would have stabbed the needles right into the evil professor’s eyes. He hit some points on his ow

  • Sick connection.

Villa number seven. Murong Wuque woke up with a start. His body was drenched with sweat and his heart was pounding erratically. He instinctively reached for Alvin’s position on the bed, it was cold. Alvin hadn't returned yet and it was already morning. Normally, Alvin came back before four, no matter how hard the mission was. This time, he was nowhere to be found, filling him with dread. He just had a terrible dream. A dream that chilled his heart and filled it with dread. Murong Wuque noticed that his hands were trembling and he clasped them together, hiding them beneath the blankets. He slowly got down from the bed on unsteady feet, and made his way to the verandah. The fresh air hit his face, blowing his long silver hair backwards. Alvin didn't collapse on the balcony, or anywhere close. He didn't need to look to know. He always felt Alvin's presence, like some sick perverted instinct. Memories of the dream flashed before him again, and he felt his vision blur. Muffl
