2022-06-22 17:56:09Adam was standing behind the locked door, his whole body in pain, starving, his stomach growling, the remaining part of the cuffs still on his leg making occasional ringing noise. He ignored all pain and had one thing in his mind at this moment, food.
Adam is a thin kid with a natural bronze skin, black short hair and light brown wide eyes. Usually his face was blank showing no emotion, now is no exception. He had dark areas around his eyes, his cheek bones protruding with their distinct shape.
There was food in the orphanage, and the other kids were well fed. It's just that Adam didn't want to stay here, and he didn't like their food or the people cooking it. so he would only eat the fruits and uncooked vegetables when they served them in the cafeteria, they didn't make them at least, and they tasted the same every where.
The door was defective, broken in many places, and unstable even when locked, it wiggles when pushed. That's how Adam would escape every time, he uses the steel pipe to unhinge the door by inserting the steel pipe in the gap under the hinge side of the door, and lifting one end of the pipe while the other end is under the thin wooden door.
Adam did the same thing he would do every time. However, the result this time was different. Unfortunately Gem locked the door with the key this time so it would be harder to unhinge, looks like they figured out his trick and took precautions this time.
Adam pondered the problem for a while, then he went back to his bed and sat on it trying to figure out another way to escape.
He needed food first, he couldn't think amidst all the growling of his stomach, he looked towards Vergo's bed, a slight grin appeared on his face, even though it was too small to be noticed by any onlooker, who ever knew Adam would notice any slight expression on his cold face.
Vergo was a chubby kid, he has the largest build in this room, even though they were all around the same age. His bed was the opposite side of Adam's bed, also close to the stinky toilet area, but Vergo would always hide some food under his pillow, or under his bed or any where he can.
It took Adam cheer willpower to convince him self to eat Vergo's hidden food, he knew the way he would sneak it into the room. It was disgusting at best.
Adam went to the bed which smelled slightly worse then the bathroom, and tried to not touch any thing he didn't have to touch. he used the steel pipe to lift the pillow and looked under it, unfortunately there was nothing, so he lifted the mattress, which was considerably thinner then all the others. he found a variety of smelly things under the mattress, he tried not to vomit while searching through them for any thing with unopened cover. fortunately he found a few, he quickly threw them on the ground and ran to the stinky better smelled bathroom.
After a few minutes of regret and life choice reflections, he was thankful that he didn't have any thing to vomit. he took the pillow cover off of birdy's pillow and used it as a glove, he then washed the few plastic covers thoroughly, and washed the pillow cover, washing his hand last, he went back to his bed, he returned birdy's pillow cover, and rested for a while.
Birdy is the only one Adam trusted to be clean, he never smelled any bad odors on him, and never saw him doing dirty or unpleasant things. thus he used his pillow cover trusting it to be clean, hopefully.
Adam had a very strong nose, he would smell things that others cant. which was a huge part of the reason he is miserable in this place and more then any thing in the world he wanted to get back to his home, where every thing didn't smell this bad.
Spread on Adam's bed, there were two flattened chocolate bars, and three different types of powder smashed biscuits bags. Adam started opening and gobbling every thing real fast before he remembers where they came from, he then hid the bags under birdy's mattress.
Then he connected the two links of the chain he opened earlier, the were barely holding each other, but who would believe that a weak 9 year old child broke a steel chain link.
Adam's plan was to pretend to sleep until miss sydni comes and give him the usual lecture, and then punish him. His punishment this time would be harder of course, but at most they would make him clean up something, or join in unloading the supply truck. Then they would drop their guard again and he would try escaping some other way.
After thinking for a while, Adam felt uncomfortable. There was an unusual pain in his stomach.

Adam felt his stomach burning, and his body temperature was rising, he was sweating more than a marathon runner. He ran to the bathroom and opened the tap putting his head under the water, and drunk until he couldn't any more.
"what are you doing to me?" Adam screamed while twisting on the floor beside the bed, the pain increased so much that he couldn't endure any more.

The pain stopped the same moment this thought appeared in his mind, he was relieved that It didn't get harder, 'give me a warning next time you do any thing please!! Or better yet explain to me first.' Adam didn't even complete his thought when a punch of foreign thoughts appeared all at once, it almost hurts.
