Chapter 4 ON TO THE NEXT DESTINATION - PART 3
I returned to the tavern and straight up to my room. The little one should wake up any moment from now.

Laying her on the bed I lay my jacket on the bed and walk up to the window. The view is only of rooftops and the sandy expanse into the horizon. The people have all about calm and they are returning to their usuals. Where my window stands I wouldn’t be able to see towards the wreckage. But from watching the people below I draw the conclusion.

Just these two days and I have moved about so much. I know I hardly feel tired but it is tiring. It’s an empty complaint of course.

Before I even noticed 30 minutes had gone by whiles I was staring out. What brought me back was the rustling I heard behind me. I turned to see the little girl stir on the bed then sit up. The monster, excited, was hopping on the bed seeing her finally awake and okay.

The first thing that came from here was,

“Grrr” The growling of her stomach.
