Lucas expected many things when he made his way to the commander's tent, but what he didn't expect was for the princess of the Kingdom to also be present in the tent which caused him to be surprised.

He saw that the princess herself is in armor as a sword is hanging from the left side of her hip like his own sword. She is wearing quite an extravagant armor which was mainly silver in colour. She was wearing pants or something similar as she also wore armor which was similar to him.

Her armor was primarily silver with red highlights, it covers her breasts, shoulders, knees, forearms and back. She looked like a warrior princess in that armor and it seems that she has decided to forgo her Tiara as her hair fell free on her back. Lucas also noticed that the amount of people in the tent were also great which wasn't that surprising since this is the commander's tent.

The tent has much space and there was a table in the middle which has the map of the two kingdoms. The commander which he thinks is Andvaranaut is standing with a serious face. Olivia herself was standing at the side of the table as she looked at the map seriously. The other knights were standing around in their armors vigilant.

Olivia and many of the knights turned to look at Lucas when he said her name in surprise. Olivia's eyes widened in recognition as she looked at him before a small smile graced her lips. Lucas was surprised when he saw the small smile on the princess's face.

"Ah, welcome Lucas Larsen, it's quite nice to meet you in person." Olivia said with a smile.

"Ah yes, it's an honor to meet you as well princess." Lucas said to her.

The knight commander looked Lucas over as a soft smile appeared on his face.

'It seems Gustav's student has come a long way.' Andvaranaut thought with a smile.

"I was told that I was needed to come to this tent for the briefing?" Lucas said to them.

"Yes, and now that you're here we can go through the plan." Andvaranaut said turning serious.

Lucas nodded to the man along with Olivia as they turned their attention to the map as the commander went through the plan. Basically, since they were the vanguard of the army they were expected to face the brunt of the enemy forces while the other camps would attack the enemy flanks and make sure that they don't catch the army off guard.

Andvaranaut explained the plan to the people present as they soaked it in. Lucas was taking in every part of the plan so that he will be able to formulate plans if things go south. After the briefing the commander told the high ranking knights to go through the plan and tell him if there needs to be any modifications to it before he dismissed them.

After that the many knights inside the tent left which only left the commander, Lucas, Olivia and a handful of Knights and the ones guarding the entrance. Olivia looked at Lucas to know why he is standing there while the man himself was looking at Andvaranaut.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Lord Andvaranaut. I'm Master Gustav's student." Lucas introduced himself.

At this introduction Olivia widened her eyes while Andvaranaut smiled.

"It's nice to meet you lord Lucas. I'm quite happy that Gustav has managed to find a good student. Incidentally, I also have a great student of my own." Andvaranaut said to him with a smile which caused Olivia to look at him.

"Oh, then I'm sure that they are quite powerful." Lucas said to him.

Olivia smiled a bit at his comment while Andvaranaut smirked.

"That she is. Incidentally she is standing in this tent right now." Andvaranaut said with a smirk.

This caused Lucas's eyes to widen as he pieced it together as he looked at Olivia with wide eyes. The princess meanwhile enjoyed the expression on his face as she has an amused look.

"Well, I guess that explains why the princess is here." Lucas said after a pause.

"Yes, of course. My lady, if you would." Andvaranaut said before gesturing to Olivia.

Olivia just nodded to him and then turned to face Lucas as she did a small bow.

"Greetings Lucas Larsen of the Larsen Clan. It is nice to meet a student of the renowned swordsman Gustav." Olivia said to him with a smile.

"Thank you, and it is nice you my lady. I am quite fortunate to meet a student of lord Andvaranaut." Lucas said as he gave a short bow as well.

Olivia had seen his introduction as she smiled a bit.

'He doesn't have a trace of arrogance in his tone unlike the rest of the noble kids of my age I had the misfortune to see. He really is different from most.' Olivia thought to herself.

"But I must ask princess, how did you get the permission to come here?" Lucas asked her.

"What do you mean?" Olivia asked as her eyes narrowed at his question.

Andvaranaut went a bit stiff when he heard that. Lucas himself had also noticed the tone but decided to completely say what he is thinking. Olivia's mood also became a bit worse at his question as she was starting to see him in a good light.

"What I mean is that you are the princess of our kingdom and as such are of high importance. If something were to happen to you or if you were to get captured then it will affect our army drastically. So strategically speaking, shouldn't you be in the inner part of the army?" Lucas said to her.

Olivia stared at him as he said his thoughts as she didn't break eye contact. The knights around the inside of the tent were getting nervous while Andvaranaut was looking between the two seriously.

The tense atmosphere stayed for some time before the princess sighed. Lucas looked at her curiously as she looked him right in the eye.

"You're right. I am the princess and strategically I shouldn't be at the forefront of the army. But I am also a member of the royal family of Ascheberg and as such it is my duty to protect it at its time of need. I won't just stand by as my country goes to war!" Olivia said seriously and announced the last one.

Lucas watched her as she said her mind as he knew she is serious about it. Due to an opening up in the tent the sunlight shone down on the princess as it made her seem more beautiful. Her silver hair and her skin seemed to glow under the light while her red eyes made it more beautiful. The knights seemed to be in a trance from it while Andvaranaut was nodding to her.

Olivia looked at Lucas as said man was looking right back at her as the other occupants looked at him as he didn't have a noticeable reaction. Olivia was getting a bit concerned at his lack of reaction to her speech and half expected him to laugh at her words.

In the past many noble boys had laughed at her words and treated it like a joke, saying that a princess shouldn't be at the battlefield and it is the place of men. It also didn't help that the females were also thinking the same. This caused her to have no friends and the only ones who came close to her were those children from the families that wanted to marry her for the power.

But her worries were washed away when a smile graced Lucas's face.

"I am satisfied with that answer. Not many noble women can say the same as you princess." Lucas said with a smile.

"Oh, were you seeing if I was capable?" Olivia asked him.

"I just wanted to know how much conviction you have and I am not disappointed. I hope that we can work together your highness." Lucas said to her as he raised his hand for a handshake.

Olivia looked at his hand and looked back at him. She then smiled as she grabbed his hand.

"And I hope that you will serve this country well and bring glory to it. Let's fight together, Lucas Larsen." Olivia said seriously.

"As you wish, your majesty." Lucas said with a smile.

Lucas didn't give the soldiers a chance to attack as he immediately lunged forward with his sword ready, the runes taking effect as he swung and decapitated three soldiers as his sword sang as it cut through the necks of the soldiers with ease as its wielder spun around as he shot out flames which burned the soldiers as they cried out in pain. He looked at Kriemhild as she also attacked the soldiers as her sword was also able to cut through their armor and their bodies as the sword was working as he had intended as he smiled to himself as he focused back on the enemies. The mages were busy putting up shields to deflect the flames from Falkor which only annoyed the wyvern as it roared and increased the speed as it flew through the air and attacked the other soldiers as the mages kept on using shields as they knew that they couldn't lose them. The archers also attacked the wyvern but it was proving to be ineffective as the wyvern was able to dodge the arrows as they were getting angr

"Son?" Leif called out in confusion alongside his wife. "The enemy soldiers are attacking!" Lucas shouted as he dashed without stopping as his words caused the eyes of his parents to widen alongside the servants. "What!?" All of them shouted in shock at his sudden declaration. But Lucas didn't wait for a response as he threw open the doors of the entrance as be spotted Falkor who was currently chilling on the ground, though he did sense his Master and looked at him. "Get ready to fly!" Lucas shouted as the Wyvern's eyes narrowed in response as it let out a light roar. Alpha and his comrades were keeping watch at the border as they had been ordered by Lucas and they hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary in there, just the usual forest and the animals that live, there weren't any disturbances nor any soldiers, though he did feel concerned that they would attack at once, but they would be able to see him, after all they had been trained for reconnaissance and while they aren't as good as their master, they could at least move away before the attack and warm Lucas during the time of attack. They were scattered around the border, with weapons at the ready in case of an ambush and were a good distance away from the border and hidden so that they will be able to safely kill any small group of soldiers that came out of the kingdom and intruded into their own. While it was a bit boring, it was safe and it wasn't like there was any danger now so he is quite content with doing this, it also allowed him to enjoy the wildlife as well. It was tranquil and e

The new day started as Lucas woke up and started to train in his magic as he stayed in his room and kept a watch on the borders of the kingdom to make sure that his subordinates are fine and was glad to see that they were keeping watch over the border. Though he is dissatisfied about the fact that he wasn't able to look at the enemy kingdom and understand what was happening. Falkor is also in the garden and is working as a guard to ensure that they are safe. Since he has very sharp senses, he would be able to know when danger is afoot, which will allow him and his family to be ready. He doesn't know who has shot that attack but he knows that they are strong for being able to do that. But he also didn't know if that was the best they could do or if they have more tricks up their sleeve. There were more questions than answers, which frustrated him as he didn't know what to do in such a situation, other than creating plans based on what he knows and can hypothesize as he just wante

The moment Lucas returned to his home he told his parents about the danger and asked them to be prepared just in case and to not tell about it to anyone until something happened. They were confused at the sudden words of their son but they trusted him as he went to his room and to the secret room where he started to go through the grimoires he has as he looked at the spells in the book as he narrowed his eyes. 'That attack would've finished me if it had hit and the more problematic thing is that I don't even know if that mage is able to do more or not. What if he was only testing me? I don't have any information to draw any conclusions on this.' Lucas thought to himself as he frowned at the lack of information. He hoped that his boys were cautious, though he had given them training and taught them to be always cautious, they were still only human and they might relax while out on the patrol. 'It would be ideal to have Aslaug with me as she would be able to warn me about it and

Lucas has wanted to return to his own territory after telling the royals about the warning, but Olivia wanted to talk with him after that so he decided to forego that plan for the moment as he has to follow the wishes of the princess above all as a member of the nobility after all. "Why did you wish to talk with me princess?" Lucas asked her respectfully. "I was curious about your plan to combat this new threat. I'm sure that you would've already come up with a plan of action after learning about the danger." Olivia said as she looked at him. "Yes, I suppose you are right. Though it isn't a real plan as much as it is just something that I came up with on the spot." Lucas said as he shook his head from side to side. "I see. I guess you want to go back and get your territory ready?" Olivia said as she smiled at him. "Yes, I still haven't told my parents about it yet since I wanted to inform you immediately." Lucas said to her seriously. "Then I shall not delay you any further, as
